IMO if this trade does take place i don't think that Adam Jones will be playing nickel i think Henry will:D

The whole enchilada is that PacMan would probably do that if things work out.

I'm sure nobody wants to admit that on the Cowboys end and nobody wants to offend Henry's play, when healthy, he's been great.

But the fact is, how much more effective could we be with PacMan as a starting CB and Henry moved to #3 CB and not having to play as many downs and therefore decreasing his injury factors so we get him for a whole season..?

Plus PacMan be our #1 punt or KO returner..?

OMG.

The possible upside gets exponential.

And for what final cost..?

That's to be determined.

Lots and lots of arguing for nothing, IMO. Just like Moss coming to Dallas, this Pacman thing coming to Dallas is most likely not going to happen.

If Pacman gets reinstated, why would the Titans let "such a talent" go for nothing, or a 5th, 6th, 4th, whatever? They need him just as much as any other team needs him.

If he gets reinstated, he goes back to the Titans and life goes on. Just because he mentions that he wants to play for Dallas does not make it so...

Counting chickens before they hatch and putting the cart before the horse!!

Pacman is not coming to the Cowboys...sorry citizens.

Not sure about Pacman returning to the Titans.

They may just want to get rid of him and the negative press he brings - as well as embarrassment to their franchise.

How can you be so sure?

Because it does not make sense. If Pacman is such a player, why would the Titans let him go? What is in the Titans best interest to let him go?

That's the problem I have with this whole thing...it makes no sense, unless the Titans are dumb and every other team in the league is smart...get it?

..but I agree with you about the Titans not giving him up for a bag of beans, either.

I see the Titans as not wanting to lose his value altogether if another transgression happens and I think they lack any faith whatsoever that it won't happen again if he remains with them in Tennessee.

Better on their part to get something of value now and let him move on to fresh pastures.

See my post above where I suggest a sliding scale of conditional draft picks being awarded to the Titans in the 2009 draft as a good compromise for all concerned.

But the Cowboys do have faith that he will stay clean and out of trouble? Makes no sense to me!

You can move a biting dog from one yard to another and it will still bite...there are no guarantees that it won't bite.

Whining about being a Cowboy? Pacman merely stated he would like to play for the Cowboys. I'd be willing for the Cowboys to give up a 4th for Jones. But nothing more than that.

Whining about wanting to be a Dallas Cowboy got us Drew Bledsoe, Keyshawn Johnson and it got us TO and it got us Tank Johnson.

I believe Terry Glenn may have also whined to the Packers about wanting to come to Dallas if he wasn't going to start there. Wish granted.

So whining is OK. Just ask Greg Ellis. He's turned it into an art form.

My biggest concern with acquiring Pacman is that JJ may think that he doesn't need to draft a CB high come April, and we end up relying on Pacman. And then if Pacman lets everyone down, we're screwed.

Even if we end up getting Pacman, we must still take a CB high in April. I honestly don't think we can depend on Pacman.

Well, to be clear on my part, if Pacman came to the Cowboys I would have no reason NOT to support him...but, and that is a BIG BUT, I'm not sure the guy truly understands his position. One bad move on his part, no matter how big or little, and he's gone, again! And the Cowboys are out a player...

On the other hand, if he does understand, then Jerry got a good player.

I just don't understand why some think that just because the Titans may not trust him that Jerry will...makes no sense to me.

That is why I state my position that Pacman will not be a Cowboy this year. Maybe next year or the year after if he proves that he has learned his lesson.

Then it had better be a sixth or seventh. Nothing more.

There is no guarantee he will even play.

After reading your posts in this thread..we agree quite a bit..

I posted later in this thread about a sliding scale of conditional 2009 draft picks that might work the deal out. I think both PacMan, with an appropriate redone contract and the Titans, who are out a player and a significant draft choice over all this, should be entitled to more than a 5th or 6th rd. pick if PacMan can be rehabbed and made a starter for us.

Because anybody with half a brain knows that's what we need, not just a #3 CB. Not to mention PacMan completely facelifting our kick return game much like Deion Sanders did for us in the SB years. And the Titans aren't just going to give him away for a 5-7th rd. choice cold turkey.

There are risks. I think all three parties should share equally in the deal, if there is one to be done.

But that's just me.

I'd really like to see this happen.

The upside if it happens and works out is exponential.

thinking of have TWO speed and shutdown corners and a good corner in the nickel (Henry) with Ken playing centerfield makes me happy in pants:D . who would care what Roy was doing if we had that he could play hitman again:).
i just think for what little his contract is we could take that risk JMO

I feel the same. I'll be pissed if jerry pulls the trigger but at the same time, at the cost of a 7th rounder, whatever. Put some CB on the practice squad and just wait for pacman to get into trouble. Cut bait and move on.

I'd rather not have him on the team at all cause he a dousche bag but whatever.

Of course, Jerry had better draft a CB early in the draft as well. Counting on only pacman is stupid on any GMs part.

For his proven talent, I would give a 6th or 7th rounder for him. Structure his contract like TO's or Tank's. A draft pick sitting on the bench as an inactive player for 16 games, IF he even makes the team. and chances are he will be another Reeves or Jones. We already have a few late round picks in that position anyway.
I would take the chance.
