All I get from you, is you hate the guy for off the field issues. You do know Pacman was loved by his team mates and was said he was always the first to get to practice and was a hard worker...you seem to have this in your head, Pacman is a cancer and would bring down the locker room:bang2::bang2::bang2:

Nah I just dont want the laughing stock of the league on our team.

I prefer a clean team if at all possible.

You guys dont.

The image of the Dallas Cowboys means something to me.

Thats the entire basis for you guys.

Oh but TO turned out ok. TO was a way different kind of monster.

A disgruntled receiver who was angry with management has nothing to do with crime.

you'll find the differences if you want them and they're important to your views.

we all do.

i just try to put those down and not have my personal feelings come into play. tank is turning out ok. some gambles have not turned out ok. this one may not.

but you're acting as if it's "me vs you" in these discussions. nothing you or i say will have a camels hair difference in the outcome. yet we get mad at each other as if our losing the argument is going to make whatever is out there we don't want to happen, happen.

yes pac man is a risk but if he fails he's gone and we're simply not out much.

if the man has changed or is trying, shouldn't we let him? i guess we all turn backs on people at different rates.

Again, my good friends here at the zone, the T.O. and Pacman comparisons do not, in any form or fashion, hold any sort of water unless you're simply basing comparing them off the fact that they're both black and they both play football professionally. That is where the comparisons in their situations end.

T.O. was a headache for ON THE FIELD issues and complaints about money. Pacman is a headache cause he's continuely getting into the kind of trouble that gets you arrested and suspended for a year from the NFL. His are off the field issues that involve police, lawyers, courtrooms and such.

Not even in the same city, let alone the same stadium, in terms of comparing the situations.

By all accounts Gacy was loved by friends and such as well. That didn't stop him from killing people. (Note I'm not saying Pacman is a killer, or even close to one, but just pointing out that you can not always go by how others feel about someone in determining if they're a good person or not)

but both caused problems for the team that forced TO / Pacman off the team.

both were considered high risk.

there's some valid points there. not across the board no. but i'm not talking exact match time either.

But when we're talking about a football team and what they do in the locker room and practice field it is applicable, comparing to a serial killer and sociopath not so much.

Image got us 13-3 last year. We also dropped our 1st round playoff game after coming off the bye and HAVING home field advantage.

I'd like to win now, please.

Mr. Pac Man Adams...please sign w/ Dallas

And that is what all the Pacman support boils down to. Don't care about character, image of the organization or anything like that - just win baby

Not only that but you have to take shots at those who do, calling them hypocrites "must have hated Irvin" and so forth because they stood by their team even while some of the thug like activity was taking place.

I am sure those people never supported what Irvin and the others did, just wished it was not their team that was on TV and radio that was getting blasted and made fun of for all those arrest and scandals.

We get it, you guys don't care about that!

This is the NFL where most of the players came from lower class neighborhoods. If you want a clean image you need to watch Yale football then

The problem with jones is that he's a follower and not a leader. Keith bullock said he's a great guy, but he's influenced by others to quickly. If he comes to dallas someone is going to have to be on top of him every minute.

Complete opposite. If he comes here, he will be a follower to a good group of guys who work hard and stay out of trouble.

The dude has learned his lesson and wants to make millions again playing football. He can help us win. Bring him to Dallas.

So , I guess we are asking too much of them to just stay out of trouble, being arrested, being in the substance abuse program and testing by the league then.

I did not know lower class people were not expected to do that!!!!!!!

There are expected, but some can't seem to get away from there "roots"

Can you honestly tell me if Pacman comes here its going to make us the laughing stock of the league and the boys need to be squeaky clean....pffff please:rolleyes:

Two good years and all that's wiped away. Take Owens for example. He's considered a model citizen now. No one would even question giving him a huge contract.

Once again, Owens wasn't one off the field incident away from a lifetime banishment from the NFL.

Two years of good behavior and Pacman won't be either.

Squeaky clean, I don't think anyone on this whole thread is asking for squeaky clean. We are way past that.

Just try not to get arrested, hang out with known thugs, be in the substance abuse program and try to be a conscientous member of society.

That is all we are asking. I don't really think anyone expects these guys to have their own values good or bad - just don't be an embarrassment.

Is that really too much to ask for the team to represent?

He said repeatedly that he needs someone. He needs someone to call and talk to. I think he's looking for that type of person, because he's never had that type of person. Maybe Calvin Hill can be that guy or maybe not. But that is what Jerry's hired him for. If he can't be that guy, I don't know what Jerry's paying him for.

Saying the right things and doing the right things are different animals. He's had a year to clean up his act and find that person. He went wrestling instead.

Calvin Hill can help, but the person that advises Jones has to be someone of Jones' choosing rather than an employer's choosing for it to really work.

People look at the sucess of some of the notorious teams in NFL history like the 90s Cowboys or 70s Steelers or Raiders and think that off field matters don't make a difference. It's a different day and age. If you look at PFT's Turd Watch from last season, you'll notice that teams with 0 or only a few points were much more likely to have successful seasons.

No, two years of good behavior and he might only get a 3-4 year banishment. Maybe, but he probably still gets the lifetime ban.

He's the poster boy of bad NFL behavior. The NFL can't afford to give him chance after chance after chance. This isn't just a Goodell ego trip, he's trying to protect the brand. Goodell will throw a thousand Pac Mans out of the league before he lets the NFL carry the same dark cloud that hangs over the NBA.

And if he comes, I hope he turns it around. Irvin's speech at the Hall of Fame was probably his best representation as a Cowboy. A man that looked at his failures, owned up to them and changed his life. A proud moment for me as I was sincerely happy for him. I remember telling a lot of my friends that they had to watch that speech. I thought a truly moving moment from a guy who had turned his life around.

Hopefully in 15 years Pacman will have the same story - but at this point it does not look promising.

Lifetime ban? 3-4 year ban? Not a chance. Unless he's charged with something really serious, which would provoke for long-term ban for any player. It's not that any single incident has caused his suspension thus far. It's the collection of a string of incidents. If he has 2 good years and then goes through a string of incidents, yes. But if it's a random misdemeanor, there's no way he'd get a lifetime suspension.

Two years without a blip will build up a lot of cache for him. People have short memories.
