I don't think anybody on here would take it too well if their own company is baby-sitting them outside of work, telling them they can't go to strip clubs and parties...

The fact is, even the court system has cleared Pac-man, so Goodell has no business suspending him... If Vick was found not-guilty, would it be right to continue to suspend him? The limits should be on whether he has any pending cases or not...

The company where I work if I went to strip joints, and went out and got drunk, and kept getting arrested for things, even if it turned out I didn't really do anything, would fire me, or anyone else in the company, on the spot because of the negative publicity (And here it would just be local news stories and such) I'd be bringing to their company.

The NFL has EVERY right to say they don't want their players going out and acting like idiots. Take a look around. They're not telling all players they can't go to strip joints and such. Just the one that is too stupid to go to any and not get in trouble while he's there.

He didn't gain anything by putting his business out there, it's a known fact Jerry wants him, so I give him props.

That's a pretty gullible.

If the Cowboys get the feeling that no one else would touch him with a ten foot pole, then there is no point in trading for him. They just wait until he's released and sign him to a bare minimum contract. If they trade for him, they're taking on his rookie contract where he's set to be paid the better part of 5.25 million over the next three years. So, yeah, he does kind of have millions at stake.

Secondly, he's going on the radio for a reason ... he's trying to sell himself. If he can get more teams bidding on him besides Jerry, the more leverage he has.

Like I said ... people get real earnest and sincere when they have their palm outstretched.

Yup...the worst drug he might have ever been associated with is weed...name me one kid who hasn't.
His real problems is the company he keeps....he needs to shake himself of them, otherwise the guy is doomed to fail.

Sounds like that is the worst drug, yes, but don't paint that broad stroke that everyone has used. I've NEVER used any illegal drugs. Period. Never even been around anyone while they were smoking pot.

So, no, not everyone has been associated with weed in their lives. But my issues with him have nothing to do with weed. They have to do with the fact that the moron doesn't seem to know how to stay out of trouble. Now maybe he can change with the right people around him, I hope he can (Especially if we wind up saddled with him), but I'm not going to hold my breath believing that if he comes here he's going to magically 'get it'.

If you were one of only 100 people in the world that could perform the task you were hired to do you wouldn't be.

Yes it is.

All I can guess is that they have hard breaks for when the internet ads run, and sometimes the actual shows run a little bit past that.

You're right that it's incredibly irritating, though.

Here's the rest of his contract:

2008: $1.2925 million
2009: $1.7425 million
2010: $2.192 million

That's pretty cheap. 3 years, $5.2 million.

yeah, it really is pretty cheap for a 3rd corner with Pro Bowl potential. I'd like to get it even cheaper but I wouldn't be devastated or anything if they just let him play out his deal with some behavioral clauses added into it.

If he gets a "peanuts" deal, then it'll only be a 2 year deal. Maybe even a 1 year deal. In that scenario, he gets his big pay day in year 2 or year 3. If he sticks with his current deal he gets $5.2 million over the next 3 years and won't get his "big pay day" until year 4.

So, no, actually staying with his current deal will likely reduce his earnings.

He said repeatedly that he needs someone. He needs someone to call and talk to. I think he's looking for that type of person, because he's never had that type of person. Maybe Calvin Hill can be that guy or maybe not. But that is what Jerry's hired him for. If he can't be that guy, I don't know what Jerry's paying him for.

I will be that person. I will guide Pacman through his many moral dilema and be his voice of reason. I will add the Strip Pole to my Sun-Room and establish agreements with the local strip joints to do house-calls so that he can make it rain in a friendly environment. I will do this because I care and not because it in any way benefits me personally.

Pac Man's is so notorious, his rap sheet so long and his situation with Goodell so tenuous that he's not going to rebuild his name after one or even two years. He's just one more infraction away from an unprecedented lifetime ban. It going to take him at least 3 years of pristine behavior before anyone is ready to give invest big guaranteed money in him again. Better to be paid $5.25 million in those three years than $1.5-$2 million.

Eh. Two years without a blip and he's getting somewhere between $6-10 million per year, with a good amount guaranteed.

Not when he's just one more infraction away from a lifetime ban. That's like giving huge guaranteed bucks to a guy who has a known chronic knee condition that could end his career at any moment. It's just begging to flush money down the toilet. And not if Goodell starts enforcing punitive measures and taking away draft picks from teams that frequently sign, draft and trade for known troublemakers. This isn't your typical guy who has a few black marks on his resume. There's a reason why nobody but Jerry is willing to give up even a late round draft pick for the guy.

I'm not completely opposed to the idea of bringing him on, but if you're going to do business with a snake the first step is to acknowledge he's a snake. This "I think he sounds really sincere" or "He's just been singled out and treated unfairly" nonsense is laughably naive. If he had any common sense he wouldn't need 6 infractions before seeing the light. He certainly wouldn't go to a strip club the night before meeting with Goodell about his future in professional football. That tells me more about his mindset than a thousand interviews with Michael Irvin combined.
