He said he's in counseling right now and that he's working out 5 times a week. So, basically all that's missing is living in Montana?

Yes. It would be a sign that he's left his old life behind.

Plus there's a huge difference between being in counseling and having a mentor or father figure in your life.

I have to say that not too many people his age steps up and admits his short-comings, put all of their business out in the street, and just puts himself out there to be beaten on.

I could probably count on one hand how many people on the zone would air their entire life of f'ups. I hope he changes, and I hope we trade for him and he turns it around and becomes an unstoppable force for us.

Put millions of dollars on the line, and I'll happily confess all my previous sins.

He should be like Big Boi of Outkast and put a pole in his house and invite his guests there. Save himself the trouble of going out.

I thought I read somewhere that he was actually doing that.

He said repeatedly that he needs someone. He needs someone to call and talk to. I think he's looking for that type of person, because he's never had that type of person. Maybe Calvin Hill can be that guy or maybe not. But that is what Jerry's hired him for. If he can't be that guy, I don't know what Jerry's paying him for.

I was very much in favor of signing Owens because his antics have always been money driven and thought Jones would keep him happy financially. I was also in favor of the Johnson signing because his crimes weren't even crimes in most states.

I'm very much against signing Jones, however. What I wanted to hear was simple. I wanted him to state that he's found a mentor of some sort, be it a pastor, former teacher...whomever. Calvin Hill is great but he cannot and will not be his personal babysitter. I'd have also loved to hear that he'd been living and working out in some small town in Utah or Montana somewhere getting his life in order. Plus, I'd be willing to bet that his last foray into a "gentleman's club" happened within the last month.

He's going to find trouble again, I believe, and I don't want it to effect the Cowboys. People can talk about an easy to cut contract, incentives... but I'm afraid that doesn't solve all the problems with Jones on the team. Suppose for a second he slipped up at a crucial time like the Saturday night right before the Super Bowl.
Boy, that's they way I felt about T.O. and Tank, pretty simple on those 2. Never knew why everyone had such reservations about them for the reasons you gave, but Pacman is a different story. What do we have to lose? Our hard earned reputation. It took us a long time to regain it after the 90's cowboys.

The thing that amazed me was that he said "I want to play out my current contract."
He does not want a minimum contract. He wants his current contract.

his current contract is fine. 3 years remaining and each season is less than 2 million.

The "postgame" talk now is pretty interesting. Estridge and Mosley are asking Kiley about the interview, and Kiley says he thought Pac was genuine in his desire to improve himself. Says he didn't ever look to his attorney for cues on what to say, his face seemed honest, etc.

And he was very much against Pac before this.

Maybe Irvin becomes that guy.

I think the biggest thing about this has yet to be addressed.

Does he wear his hat backwards listening to gangster rap?

If he does, he hasn't changed at all.

He didn't gain anything by putting his business out there, it's a known fact Jerry wants him, so I give him props.

not only that but you can tell that at least Michael would be willing to take that role on as well. From what was said, Deion would be willing to take it on too.

One thing that stuck out to me was that he said that he hired a law enforcement officer to follow him. He has been making claims that a lot of what he has been accused of is not true. Specifically that the lady who said he punched her and then later recanted was bogus and some other mitigating factors.

I find this an infinitely smart move on his part. It takes a lot of the grey area out of things should something arise again. If its truly not his fault hes got a cop that can attest to that which would be huge for him.

He said that he had to tell his old friends and family members which specifically sounds like his brother and his childhood friend that they had to go.

Maybe just maybe if he doesnt have the bad influences around he can make good decisions without having to be told what to do.
