You would have to pay this moron a huge bonus to get him. If you cut him you are on the hook for it. So the analogy is a good one. Simply because this guy has shown NO DESIRE to change his habits, the people he hangs with or anything else about his personal life.

This is not the pre salary cap era. You don't take stupid risks.

As for facing the train, you first.

No team is going to give PacMan a huge bonus. It will be an incentive laden contract.

So, we offer the same.....he signs with us. We can always cut him.

There's really no way to respond except to say that you are completely incorrect. The odds may be against him changing, but it's not impossible, as you've painted it - and so the choice of illustration was very poor.

There's a chance he can change - Jerry would just need a pair big enough to roll that dice. If he does, I support him 100%.

You never know with people. Maybe tomorrow he wakes up with some stripper he met, only finds out through early morning examination that it was a dude....he realizes he's bottomed out, and dedicates his life to the NFL. Jerry Jones signs him and he becomes a HOFer for the Dallas Cowboys.

It's a long shot - but the possibility is out there.

There's no way to respond because it is going to happen. He just ahd another incident this past week. Now the charges were dropped but who thinks that this is the last one? Are you kidding me?

If you are interested, I have some real nice property with a water view in Louisiana. Are you interested?

I don't understand how some are comparing Tank Johnson as a problem to Pac-Man Jones as a problem. It's not like comparing apples to apples. Or even apples to oranges.

It's like comparing oranges to giant pumpkins.

Says who? A reinstated PacMan is not in a position to demand anything. Anyone's desire to sign him is completely predicated on it being a Cowboys-friendly contract. It's ridiculous to suggest he'd command a huge signing bonus.

I still dont really get excited when he scores. I am so hoping we find a guy to step in and be a difference maker at wr this year, so this will be the last year of owens.

I just cant root for the guy, he is the epitome of what I dont like in athletes.

I can't help it. I get excited when the Cowboys score - and TO does alot of that. He wants to win more than almost anyone on our team. He loves Tony Romo. Good enough for me.

Apparently you don't understand the difference between things that are "improbable" and things that are "impossible".

I can't be asked to explain it to you.

I doubt Pacman does that. But if so, I still wouldn't because he takes up a roster spot for the brief time he would be here, thus we would make personnel decisions to include him and when he is suspended again, we are left with a Jacques Reevesesque player. He's simply not worth it.

So you doubt PacMan takes a small signing bonus, incentive laden contract?

So, what....you think PacMan is going to sit out for the rest of his career? No team is going to offer him big money. He'll either have to choose to accept such a contract or watch the NFL from his TV.

My guess is he'll take that deal.

I would hope he's had enough time to mature; I'd be willing to give him a chance. HUGE upgrade for what...the league minimum salary? Like has been said, we have one of the best personel "support" structures in the league; if he screws up again....kick him back to the curb.

I really think the league needs to reconsider its role in conditioning/reconditioning these athletes before/after they are in the NFL. We have NO idea how it would feel to go from welfare/intercity surrounded by drugs/gangs,etc and then 3yrs later be multi-millionaire 21yr olds. There is a lot of responsibility that comes with it that many of these high-risk youths are ill-equipped to handle.

Don't believe me; go back and read what happened to one of our former Cowboy super bowl winning players Clayton Holmes.

He's a great talent, that we'll get at a very cheap price, who understands this is his last opportunity to get his life straight. He's only 24 so he'll save us a draft pick, save us loads of cash, and maybe bring some fire to a very average secondary.

The only way I would even THINK about bringing this guy on board:

-Agreed to living with Calvin Hill or some other mentor within the organization
-Agreed to a curfew established by the team.
-Agreed to counselling
-Min contract with a reasonable incentive for playing the year without incident

Supposedly, Pacman is trying in vain to clean up his act.

He is now a volunteer (not state mandated) for inner city troubled youth trying to help them resist the urge to make the same mistakes that he made.

He works with kids daily, helping them, while helping himself.

It has also been heard that the gangs affiliated with Pacman have told Pacman to steer clear to improve himself. They are urging him to improve his life and stay away from the gangs. They have said they are proud of his achievements and he is one of few who have made a successful life outside of the gangs, and they want him keep striving for perfection. He is one the boys who made it good, and they want to help him stay that way.

This may be just a feel good story to improve his image, and he may not be sincere at all.

Question is, is it worth it to take on chance on this guy?

i think "too soft" and "blow people" shouldn't belong so close together.

For some people a trip to the club is just as much about having everyone see YOU as it is about seeing some T&A. Not saying that's the reason, but it's a possible explanation.

Cause if he keeps them from leaving you can slap a kidnapping charge on him.
