Odd considering all his trouble seem to stem from being at strip clubs.

Paint it any color you want, a dog is still a dog.

No kidding. Pacman has choices and if many of his problems stem from hanging out and certain places and hanging out with the wrong people and yet he does nothing to change that he is pretty much telling the NFL that football is not that high on his list of priorities. Even if I believed as sacase does I would still think that Pacman would want to show the teams across the NFL that I have changed my ways and he is not going to do that hanging out at strip clubs. Hell these coaches around the league tell their guys not to go to these places and they do so for a reason they know the problems that stem from these places.

That is the only way. The best way.

And yet...

I still dont like it.

He can do harm in other ways. I cant see me ever being on board with this.... primarily because he hasnt shown anything as far as behaving.

I believe in extra chances(funny we have to say extra instead of 2nd nowadays).... but he will blow it.

Lets get a young hungry DB in the draft. Draft him high if we have to.

So what if he blows it... If he is who he is, he'll blow his chances at McDonalds. Just structure it in such a way that Dallas doens't suffer irreperable harm. Get the most out of Jones when he is here...

If who he hangs out with is the problem then his first step is to find new people to hang out with.

I agree. But as I mentioned before coaches tell these players to stay clear of these places. They can't force them but they do warn them and a man in Pacman situation when he continue to hang out at these place will clearly show teams he has no intent on changing anything.

Teams are now held accountable for their players actions. If a player messes up the team can be fined.

True but coaches were telling players this long before this took place.

Living here in Nashville I can tell you we want NO PART of this guy. He can't swing a dead cat without hitting something that will land him in jail.

If we bring this guy to Dallas, We might as well just plan on him missing several seasons on suspensions and wasting a ton of money.

Still waiting on you to provide Pac man's daily schedule. The fact is you don't know what he has been doing. You just assume. Like it or not if Jerry thinks Pac Man will help the team he will sign him. Pac Man will play in the NFL again just like Vick will. Perhaps a change of scenary will help him get over his problems. Maybe Roy can take him to church.

It's not a question of "judginess". Jones is damaged goods, just a surely as if he had a chronic bad knee. You simply can't count on him to be available from week to week.

Jerry: please stay far, far away from this clown.

did you move over and give them a spot on the cloud?

no one said he was going to hell and saying he's in jail a lot and likely to do it again isn't judging, it's common sense. you should try it sometime. : ) (KIDDING!) (sorta)

There are ways to prevent that from damaging your franchise. Tank Johnson and his tiny contract are a perfect example.

TO's "damaged goods" contract is another.

Sometimes you just have to gamble. PacMan could be a GREAT gamble. Jerry's definitely got the stones to roll the dice without being terrified that it might not work out. *fingers crossed*

He has a long history and I do know the reports that have come out on him. Tenn knew this as well and took a chance and they regret taking that chance that coming out of the mouth of the GM. You want to act dumb and think this guys is a new man be my guest hopefully Jones is not that stupid to take a chance on a fricken thug which is what Paceman is and has always been.

There are ways to limit the cap hit if Jones screws up, but that won't fill the hole in the roster if he gets himself suspended during the season.

It's a bad idea, end of story. There will be other corners just as good or better available via free agency and/or the draft who aren't a suspension waiting to happen.

If we can get this guy for a cheap price, make it so we can cut him if he screws up one time and we don't lose anything from it, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I know there are a lot of religious/never done wrong/i want it my way, types on this board and around this corrupt world, but this is about football, not reality.

And the reality is, he is a stud football player.

I don't want the guy to come to my house to eat dinner - I don't want him watching my kids - I don't want him teaching my kids - I don't want him in my neighborhood doing thugish things - I don't want him being my President (oh wait......)

But if the price is right and the contract is voidable, I'd do it. UNLESS - I can find someone equal to his talent, of course I'd pay out the rear, but hey, if you want saints, you have to pay for them.

No matter how unlikely it is, people can change.

For a modest contract, I'd love Jerry to take the chance that PacMan has turned things around. Corners with his talent are rare - our chances of picking one up in the offseason would be pretty minimal.
