If Parsons can stay healthy he will get a really good raise. We all know he can play ball and is a game changer but he is getting banged up and I believe it is affecting his play later on in the season. We will see how he does as the season progresses. He is exciting to watch.
Yes he, as well as the coaches need to learn to monitor him at times. So he is not worn down in December or the playoffs.
Coaches need to get a handle on his enthusiasm late in games as well when he does not need to be out there.

That's a good point. If after this year they decide to move on Dak, getting a QB is of the upmost importance. Parsons is their ticket to do it. But do we really think they're moving on from Dak? But I do agree it is a legit path to bettering the team, although many would disagree.

Again, if I had to guess, we'll be paying Parsons anywhere between 32-35M per. Like you said, we'll have to wait and see what Jones and Bosa get. IMO the 49ers made a mistake in not extending Bosa after 2021. What is their thinking here? They wasted one rookie year to spread out his cap hit. Maybe they have no intention on extending him?

Regardless if Parsons isn't filling in the stat sheet like the best player ever, our D would be different without him. Yes, I believe he'll be overpaid. I'm not sure there's an alternative other than the situation you described above.
This is true, I mean the 49ers might have what people call a great coach and a great GM combination, but they've done some questionable things the last few years with the mess that they had with garoppolo and then three first round picks for Trey Lance...

when everybody knew it was a mistake when they did it and now this stuff with bosa....

I don't know what they gave up for Christian McCaffrey but seems like they could have probably not brought a guy over as a running back and pay him$19 million the next two seasons (38mil due) each It seems like the way the running back market is, I mean was that a smart move? It is possible they thought they were going to win the Super bowl the last two years and maybe they would have traded bosa in that case but now that they still haven't won the Super bowl maybe they gonna keep him??

1. Never understood the shade on Vaughn. Sure, he's small but it's not like he was a niche player in college. He was a RB that got the rock a lot and did well.
It is pretty simple. Some people cannot wrap their heads around size difference. Ability and skill do not compute. The real question is whether the same people will comprehend after witnessing the ability and skill play out during a regular season game.

1. The padded helmets do look goofy, but I don't really think that's an issue. They can fix the look pretty easily, if they want to start using them in regular games. I really don't know if the added safety is a major or minor upgrade.
They're not going to do that. Right now no new league will overtake the NFL. They have no chance. But if the NFL does something ridiculous, like using these padded helmets, or going back to leather helmets like someone else suggested, that gives a new league an opening. If the NFL goes too extreme, they could lose the stranglehold on the sport.

I get the point, but most of these camp practices are 3/4 speed at best and you don't see tackling guys to the ground at all. The "hits" they are taking are so minor as to not be an issue, at least IMO. But hey, the NFL can say they are still all about player safety by doing this.
Exactly, ....wearing padded helmets in practices or TC are mostly to give the perception that the NFL is cracking down on CTE concussions in attempt to protect themselves from lawsuits. Practices are not that intense where real hitting and tackling is done and most of the injuries that occur are leg injuries----foot, ankle, knee.. If they were really serious about this, this would already be done in REAL games. Protection for the NFL, not the players. Hypocritical by the NFL and the NFLPA.

You guys are something lol
Duus is great and you decide this after 1 PS game where he only played in 4th against the lowest level Jags to play that night !
Good grief at least wait till he plays in a real game.

Turpin looked awesome last PS, then real games not so great, but ok.

Parsons, will get a big payday, I wonder if he is worth it, as all he focused on is sack records, and power rushing the qb.
Both seasons so far he is wore out by the playoffs. And a few sacks a game ( which are just tackles lol) dont really help the team win games.
Phil took him out of the game and didnt even block him.
Did he help dallas in either of the SF playoff games ??

I say just give him a mahomes deal and be done with it, 500 mil for 10 years.
Typical ignorance

Guarantee that wearing those ridiculous helmets in games is right around the corner....I really hate this wussified league right now.
Come on. Hurting your limbs is one thing but damaging your brain for life to entertain you is ridiculous.

If we go to the SB it’s going to be because of Micah. This is becoming his team now.
he is good, but I think he is constantly over rated.
Explain his part in why dallas lost to SF 2 years in a row. He wasnt a factor in either game.

Maybe I'm ignorant. I didn't see much ignorance in that post.
Anyone who thinks pressure on the QB isn’t conducive to winning has zero clue about the modern NFL. Passing offense and defense are more important to winning than everything else combined

Vaughn has never taken an NFL snap against starters, lets pump the breaks. He can have all the talent in the world, but with a smaller framer vs. larger and much heavier players, it is smart to be concerned. The hits are different.

I noticed that as well, they do look funny. But if it cuts down on chances of TC concussions, so be it.
I bet it does the opposite and gives players an even bigger sense of safety. And it seems to be more optics than anything. Are we to believe that the brain won't slosh around as much?

This won't be one of my multi-segmented deep explorations. Just 3 quick thoughts:

1. Padded helmets make everyone look silly, but they make Deuce look like an 11 year old. Get over your "eye test"... it's only playing mind tricks on you and making you silly-fool. Vaughn is the one who knocks. Doubters destined to fold.

2. Speaking of folding...I initially wanted Jerry to make a stand with Zack, and he sure tried to plant his flag, albeit from the sinking sand of false confidence. After my initial posts I paused myself and actually thought about it. Martin had the iron claw of leverage, a very valid case he'd been underpaid for several years, and it was inevitable Jerry would yield, given the lack of any legitimate depth on the offensive line. We now know the outcome.

3. Poison? Micah Parsons is wicked smart. He watched this Zack saga unfold and he took notes, with whatever Lion claw-scratch calligraphy he's now crafted. The harsh truth? Micah's not going to submissively play out his contract. He's "obligated" to play through 2024 without a penny more than 5.5 mil AV. If you think it will play out as simply and comfortably as that...you silly.
Well I certainly agree those gigantic pillow helmets are stewp.

They may as well put a loveseat on their head.

I mean.....if we all wore helmets when we drove cars there'd probably be 20,000 less deaths a year....but at some point, the "this is dumb" reality overrides something even as significant as 20,000 lives.

Ok, I had to reread certain posts to get a better picture. I get it now. But he did have a point in regard to the Eagles game.

Good point. Sproles was really short but as wide as a door frame and jacked. Vaughn does seem like he could be a spark type change of pace guy. Hopefully for Dallas he can be someone who can make chunk plays on screens etc.

on that note how does Mazi, Overshown, sam williams, and others develop, do they get to point where Parsons leaving can be covered up, use the draft picks you get from him on anther DE/pass rushing OLB??

that's the conundrum, we know that being a GM isnt easy in these situations. fan faves and productive players who might cost too much too keep..
While I think a logical argument could be made to do exactly this, it would be extraordinary in this situation and would shock me.

Micah is a fan favorite, a must-see watch for the league...and obviously a top 3 defender.

-I usually am quite skeptical about judging guys on preseason performance. But some of us see in Deuce a unique and compelling skill set that will translate.

-Micah had 13 combined tackles in the two 49er playoff games. That's a lot of tackles for a defensive end. I do agree he's seem to wear down a little bit late in the seasons. A big part of that is that he gets massive extra attention from opposing offenses, which of course frees up other Dallas defenders.
