Panthers Claim Moore

Really-what does everyone seen in this Moore kid? Aren't we taking preseason games TOO seriously now?

Frankly-if the Panthers are so *high* on David Carr(a former #1 overall pick bust, that is), why are they even more higher on Moore?

Three questions is close to my limit.
Nevertheless.
1. I'm only a casual observer, but Matt Moore reminds me of Alex Smith, on a good day. So I'll say a budget version of Smith, with no draft choice spent, and maybe no discussion of hands too small.
2. I don't take preseason games, seriously, casually, or otherwise.
3. Panthers need to answer that one, but Jaworski may be smiling.

The Nightmare Scenario for Dallas would be Brady Quinn and Matt Moore both playing well later this decade(or, worse, later this year). Somebody would have some 'splainin' to do. Sleep well, Cowboy fans. Your management is churning the roster, and I hope the result isn't buttermilk.

I'm just not all broken up about losing Moore.

If Romo gets hurt or self-destructs, the season is lost anyway.

And if the Cowboys are forced to replace Romo soon, better it be with a blue chipper. The Low Grade Ore approach takes too long ....

Moore was not going to play this year and neither will Bartel......but may I ask again ..... Why did we suffer through the 10 years of a Vinny, Bledsoe,Carter etc. I ask again...Why did it take 10 years to find Troy's replacement?????

Because we were not prepared for the day when Troy was forced to pack it in.

Well spoken. I think the logic went like this....if Romo does not play well will we use Moore or go use a top draft choice to replace him? I think the answer drove the decision to release. They would have signed him to the PS if he had cleared but it was a risk they were prepared to take. I'm OK with it.

We will RUE it.

jason G commented once this summer that Matt was pretty 'far along' for a young qb just starting out.

precocious, so to speak.

it just freaking sucks that the team carried certain 'past' qbs for so long, guys who were taking forever to 'get it'.

and the one with something on the ball gets let go.

I agree - we will 'rue' this one. And I did not think for one moment Moore'd sneak past waivers.

Even if TR turns out to be franchise elite, what's wrong with letting Garret and Wilson develop a second starter?

Makes me wonder how much clout the future HC currently has.

because I have little doubt JG was high on Moore.

PS. There is a pretty savvy QBs coach in carolina - Mike McCoy, who got a lot of the props for turning delhomme's career around.

last year he took a kid (undrafted FA) by the name of Basanez from the ps to the roster, and i had read that kid' progress was amazing.

Now that kid is on IR.

So whoever in Carolina has been watching Matt, I bet Mcoy is chief amongst them.

Wishing won't help now, but the simplest way to have kept Moore would have been releasing Johnson. Bartel would have been unclaimed, signed to the practice squad, resulting in a probowl QB contracted for 1 year, with 2 potential backups for development.
ok, and if Romo got hurt or sucks, you would put the team in the hands of one of them?
