We dodged a bullet that he didn’t go to the Bucs.

If Bill Belichick doesn't want a DB, there is zero chance I'd pay the guy big money.
That's like paying big money to a QB Andy Reid discards.

Carolina is drinking the good moonshine if they think they are that good to be tossing bucks at Gilmore like that.

DAL crushed them in the run game and forced Darnold INTs. Gilmore does zero about either area.

Crazy didn't they just sign for last year first rounder cj henderson? Carolina is going all in.

Yep, now they have JC Horn, CJ Henderson and Stephen Gilmore...going to be interesting to see the off season moves.....Sure Carolina made the move for a 1 year deal..late season playoff run

Depending on how joseph looks, we will be looking at this front office when AB keeps getting cooked

Yes they did, but there are rumors on the Panthers forum that Jaycee Horn's injury was worse than expected and may miss the rest of the season, depending on how his rehab goes
That would be too bad. Horn only got targeted 7 times in 140 snaps, and had a pick. Was looking like a stud before he got hurt

I thought it was reported that NE had released him?

24 hour waiver period, during which time a team can trade rather than wait until he hits the open market (and maybe goes somewhere else).

Usually you have to pay someone to take your garbage away for them. Carolina decides to collect the garbage and pay for the privilege. Pretty pathetic IMHO.

Not a whole lot we could do once someone was willing to trade for him. Cap hit is 16 and our space is 4.

If they had finalized the release, it would have been doable if we were his choice

6th round pick. Aaaaaaaand a huge contract (or let him walk next year)
The “salvage value” of that trade might be more than they gave up to trade for him. They might be paying him to sit on the bench all year and then flip him for a comp pick.

If the Panthers give him the contract extension he wants, that probably doesn’t bode well for the Panthers long term.

They'll
get McCaffery back after this week
get Henderson up to speed in a week or two
get Gilmore acclimated
get some o-lineman healthier

With a manageable schedule, they should have a shot at a wildcard spot.

Cowboys don’t have the salary to make a trade work, IIRC. So they had to wait for an official release.

Exactly if there is one coach that usually makes the right move its BB..just dont follow his lead on recievers..well usually that moss thing worked out ok.
