That happens with a lot of chains.

I was just about to post this. They have a lot more than 70 locations. :D

I was gonna say... they just opened a store in my hometown in August. Doubt they'd do that and sign a lease if they were going under

I tried Papa Johns and Dominos pizza years ago. I couldn't stand them and have never purchased pizza from them again. Couldn't care less if they vanished. That is what they get for making terrible pizza.

So how do you like your pizza.

1. Thick Crust, Thin Crust or somewhere in the middle

2. Pizza that seems somewhat dry on top when you open the box or do you like to see the grease on it.

3. Vegetable toppings cut into small pieces or large chunks of the veggies. (mostly talking onions and peppers).

It's funny because at my house, the wife and I are completely opposite on how we want our pizzas.

She wants all veggie toppings with no meat...I prefer mostly meats with a few veggies (mushrooms olives banana peppers).

I like think crust...she likes thick crust

I like my pizza with the grease on it...more flavor. She likes the opposite and if we order from where I like she will take paper towels and wipe off the grease from her pizza.

When I do get a pizza with onions and peppers I prefer them to be cut up into small pieces...the wife likes big pieces.

She likes Dominoes and Little ceasers...I like the local Gino's chain.

Dominos is actually pretty good now. It's definitely the best "fast food" pizza.

This place called Pete's here in the DC area has great pizza. I mean great. Perfect amount of grease on the top, natural ingredients, dough/crust made in house.

Domino's is my favorite fast-food pizza. Little Caesar's is horrific.

I like thin crust. I'm just not a big bread eater. I also prefer more smaller uniformly spread out toppings over like three or four huge piece toppings. Lots of cheese! The greaser the pizza the better. Pizza (especially greasy pizza) demands root beer to be the drink of choice.

I generally like one or two of the mom and pop pizzas. One place owned by a Greek couple from Chicago do a great pizza with everything on it. It's thin crust with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, ham , salami, ground beef, Canadian, bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, black olives, green olives, jalapenos and triple cheese. This is my normal go to on draft weekend.

The other mom and pop place owners are from New York. Their thin crust pepperoni is the best. I'll often get pepperoni, jalapenos and extra cheese from them as well.

That little garlic butter stuff they send with the pizza is liquid crack.

:laugh2: It is to me too, but not for the same type of crack you are probably referencing!

I'll keep eating my Pizza Hut Pepperoni Lovers pan pizza and care less if anyone else thinks it's crap. I like it and that's all that matters to me. :laugh1:

The way I love my pizza.

Thin crust ONLY

Italian sausage w/ shrooms-black olives-peppers *maybe some jalapenos*

Light sauce

Side of maranara for my crusts ;)

Pizza threads always make me want pizza...and it doesn't matter from where. :(

I think I'm gonna make one from "scratch"

You ever eat at Star Pizza in town? I've always come away impressed with their pizza.

Pizza Hut was always one of my favs until they changed their crust and made it sweet. Now, I'll still eat it but it's just not as good.

Where's Star Pizza? It sounds familiar, but I'm not sure.

The only "good" mom/pop pizza places I know of are in the Montrose area.

There's a place by my house, but it's so-so.

Two locations but I'm more familiar with the one on Norfolk, close to Shepherd, between Richmond and the SW Freeway.

That sounds like a good idea. I might do the same. This thread has me craving pizza.

I'm good with Pizza Hut too.

There used to be a Pizza place called Mazzio's in Ft Worth. (I think it was based in Oklahoma) Then they closed. Then someone else opened them again and the pizza wasn't as good. It was thin crust, lots of pepperoni, and lots of grease. All you need was a root beer and they had free refills.

They always had an arcade too. Just made it that much better when you were a kid. :)

Oh no did they change it? We don't have them up here in NYC area. I go to California Pizza kitchen here. The pizza that I eat from them usually comes on a honey dough. I tell them to give me the thin crust that doesn't have honey in it.

Pizza dough should not be sweet.
