He sure let's us see it when they mess up.

Remember the f-bomb .gif directed at Witten?

He's wrong on this and the TO "don't know stuff."

It's his job to know. If he's too addled to have an opinion on the health of his player then that's a feeble excuse. Pardon the pun.

We have no idea what Bill said or didn't say to Gurode in the locker room.

Bill will never take his fights to the media. He distrusts all of them. What he does behind the scenes we may never know.
The message he's sending is "I don't know anything about the health or welfare of my players. Ask the trainers. That's their job."

Problem...no one else is allowed to talk to the media.

true, but but there is zero evidence that its vice versa right?

besides nobody said it was fact, i stated it as an opinion, and what some could view his lack of attention on the subject..

wouldnt u want your coach to stick up for u from the get go?

How do we know he hasn't. Just because he didn't feed the monkey media doesn't mean that he hasn't been on the phone talking to the NFL office. I don't remember Bill ever running anything by the media before working on it in the correct manner.

no because it seems like the only person who didnt know what happened in the stadium was parcells.."or so he says"

and how is he feeding the monkey? he'd be standing up for the wellbeing of his starting center..so basically i dont know what u mean by "feeding the monkey"..its not like he's creating a story for media, this really did happen

wrong. evidence of 'disheartenment' can only come from a player, and there has been none we know of. Cripe, they are still assimilating what happened.

besides nobody said it was fact, i stated it as an opinion, and what some could view his lack of attention on the subject..

Fine. And my opinion is unless you have seen the tape and know exactly how you want to phrase your disgust/concern/indignation, you keep your mouth shut. The worst thing a coach can do is go off half cocked and then have to retract, because 'reports' had the perp kicking with his left foot, and he really stomped with his right.

wouldnt u want your coach to stick up for u from the get go?

Of course. And in the ways that matter, Bill will.

besides...

Isn't it BP's job to coach the team for playing and JJ's job as GM to take care of off the field league business?

We may be saying bye to him at the end of this year.

But he'll leave a squad of professionals behind him, something some folks have a hard time grasping.

so only his arguments and his "distrusts" with his own players go public? but leave the incidents that can be clearly seen on the stadium jumbo tron stay quiet?

What exactly does harping on the incident in the media prove? WIll Gurode suddenly feel better because Bill talked some crap to the media?

Guy got kicked in the face. The player who did it will be fined and suspended. There is no question anywhere he did something wrong. Why exactly does Bill have to prove anything about being in Gurode's "corner?" Is there some sort of controversy I'm missing?

Team matters should be voiced to the team not to the media especially a media that likes taking things out of context. I am willing to bet he has told his team what he thought and left at that not to mention I am quite sure what he was thinking would look like this if he told the media "That [expletive] [expletive]Haynesworth what a [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] thing to do. The [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]NFL better do something about this[expletive] [expletive] [expletive] disregard for the rules." Yeah I want to hear that at a press conference. I am willing to bet he praised Gurode for not retaliating and probably told him see what you can do when you whip the dude across from into frustration.

but really, what kind of coach will be able to use what he leaves?

this defense has the size of a big 4-3, but isnt really a 3-4..i noticed the size difference today in seeing the browns, and chargers play..

a small defense for the scheme they play, and a very old offense? so dallas is still 2 or 3 yrs from being legit?

For those that don't like his response, my question is what should he have said? What would have been acceptable?

I'm asking for a specific statement that would've been cool to you.

What was the exact question that was asked? Was he asked about the play or the resulting injury?

I didn't hear the question but the response that this post has suggests to me that he was asked what he thought about the play and he said he didn't see it.

And if he was to say one thing, the media would be all over him with more questions. Whats the problem with him getting all of the facts before making an official statement?

So, you're Andre Gurode.

You're fine with the player getting fined and suspended but a non committal public reaction by your Head Coach? Seriously?

I wouldn't be. Gurode sweats and bleeds for that man. The least he could have done is say a simple, "there's no room for that in football. Our team will be addressing this."

That's too much to ask of his Highness?

How about what I just posted?

Is that too complicated?

He may well have said exactly that.

Just not to US, in the brief comments after the game.
