What was the exact question that was asked? Was he asked about the play or the resulting injury?

I didn't hear the question but the response that this post has suggests to me that he was asked what he thought about the play and he said he didn't see it.

And if he was to say one thing, the media would be all over him with more questions. Whats the problem with him getting all of the facts before making an official statement?

dont come with something weak like that..its not like parcells hasnt ever told the media to go F themselves when asking too many question..but some sort of mention on it would have been appropriate

but really, what kind of coach will be able to use what he leaves?

this defense has the size of a big 4-3, but isnt really a 3-4..i noticed the size difference today in seeing the browns, and chargers play..

a small defense for the scheme they play, and a very old offense? so dallas is still 2 or 3 yrs from being legit?

WTH are you talking about?

Ellis is 270. Ware is 260. Brady and Akin are 250+. Both Spears and Canty are 300. Furgeson has been great this year.

Withough looking it up, how much bigger could Cleveland and SD be?

The message he's sending is "I don't know anything about the health or welfare of my players. Ask the trainers. That's their job."

Problem...no one else is allowed to talk to the media.

every year he seems to come up with a "cover line" and he just runs with it. we never heard "best chance to win" after that year and now this year it's this.

go figure but he always has to have a consistant catch phrase running around.

He may well have said exactly that.

Just not to US, in the brief comments after the game.
Sorry LTN, that's a cop out and you know it.

Fair enough.

If Gurode was upset about Parcells's reaction, then he needs to toughen his skin. It would take one heckuva crybaby to get upset about that. See Joe Gibbs.

No. It's not.

If he doesn't address it tomorrow then I will be disappointed, as a fan, who wants to feel somewhat 'in the loop'.

But I will also believe he addressed it to his team, and privately to Dre. I'd bet my life on that.

isnt it parcells job to oversee everything that goes on the field? EVERYTHING?

First... try chilling a bit. No reason to get all tense and suggest other posters responses to you are stupid like you did LTN. We are all upset by what happened and we are all on the same team.

It sure is but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have 2 eyes for every player on the field. He said he didn't see it... so...He doesn't know for sure if it was an accident or intentional until he see's the actual footage of the play... give him a chance to review the footage and I'm sure he'll respond in a way that will make most happy. Right now he needs to work with his players, discuss the game and make sure that his player gets proper medical attention and gets back in the game.

Now, the penalty for the action isn't on the field work, it is legal league business and that is for Jerry and the league to deal with.

So, you're Andre Gurode.

You're fine with the player getting fined and suspended but a non committal public reaction by your Head Coach? Seriously?

I wouldn't be. Gurode sweats and bleeds for that man. The least he could have done is say a simple, "there's no room for that in football. Our team will be addressing this."

That's too much to ask of his Highness?

Yeah I'm fine with it. I'm more than fine with it.

What kind of hand holding do I need from my coach because a player on the other team is an idiot?

Obviously "there's no room for that in football", why does that have to be reiterated to the media of all people? Everyone who watched that game, included Titans' fans, knew that guy screwed up. Why do I need some crusade from my coach to re-state the blatantly obvious?

Yep I could see Parcells saying that to the media.

I actually listened to the PC live and how I took it was that he wanted to see the tape before actually responding on the act of aggression. He may well have wanted to see if Gurode did something or had been doing something besides whipping his tail to cause it.

His response was basically that he didn't see it, but it doesn't mean he didn't have an opinion.

Peter King is now addressing 'the gentleman's agreement' between Parcells and Fisher.

Jeff Fisher had an opinion. How is it he can make a statement but Parcelsl can't?

Hmm.

Sorry, it's an excuse for ineptness and callousness and I don't accept it.

Considering it's Fisher's job to discipline his own team, it makes complete sense.

Sorry guys, I just don't agree on this one.

1) We don't know what BP said to Gurode behind closed doors.

2) I don't think BP needs to address it. From what I've read, Fisher told BP "If the league doesn't so something about Haynesworth, I will." Fisher knows that what his player did was wrong. BP knows that.

In this instance, I liken it to a parent disciplining his kids. Haynesworth will be disciplined by his coach or the league. It's not BP's job to discipline or chide Haynesworth for his actions. It's like most parents say, I'll discipline my kids, you worry about your own.

If BP came out and said something, that would say to me that he doesn't believe that Fisher will take care of it. I'm pretty sure Fisher will do what needs to be done.

3) What is BP gonna say? He's taking the high road. Hell Haynesworth himself even said he was in the wrong. Is BP just gonna echo that sentiment? Is that gonna make you happy? Or do you want him to go on a tirade, ripping him up and down in the media? What purpose will that serve?

Some things you just don't take to the media. I trust Fisher to take care of the guy, and I bet BP does too. I won't fault BP if he doesn't address it at all. That said, I'm sure he'll be asked the question, and I figure he won't want to get into it... or he may say, Gurode's okay, Fisher has it under control.

I'm rambling, but my main point is Fisher will handle it. BP doesn't discipline other people's kids. He doesn't like to get into what other teams should/shouldn't do. And I think the type of response you're looking for would be just that.

I don't believe you, but okay. If that's the stance you'll stand behind, that's the stance you'll stand behind.
