Parsons Trade Discussed Internally

If they were to trade Micah after having kept Dak I would be totally out on this franchise.
exactly. It would demonstrate you have no ability to be a forward-thinker. You don't sign Dak and Cee Dee and then trade Parsons. The time to tear everything down was not signing Dak and trade the other guys as things progressed. Accept that you will have a few 3 wins seasons, but hopefully you hit on most of the draft picks and build a good foundation.

If that was the plan he should’ve aimed far higher lol. A Micah trade rumor is not gonna dominate headlines in a city that just traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers and the SB lol. He might want to take this week off actually lol.
This isn't about local headlines, this is about national headlines for the Superbowl to talk about the Cowboys..

Two things here:
1.This article is by Fish, so it's clickbait imo.
2. Floating this story attempts to put the Cowboys in the headlines on the day of the Super Bowl.

Look, if Luka can be traded so can Parsons, but if Jerry was going to worry about the cap he wouldn't have cap strapped the team with Dak's contract. I call bull.
Actually not Fish........it's inside a article from NFL.com.

Of course we will never do it but he will be totally wasted in the Eburflus passive 4-3 where he predictably lines up at weak DE position

Just trade him now
For 2 1s and 2 2s it would be a slam dunk
It's the elephant in the room. Why on earth would you put Parsons in such a passive scheme. Just incredible.

In the "For What It's Worth" department.......that article was written by Mike Fisher.
This article yes but Fish pulled in info from this article

This is where Fish got his info

  • Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys: Normally open with his opinions, the Cowboys' 25-year-old superstar hasn't said much of anything about the team's promotion of Brian Schottenheimer after a surprise parting of ways with head coach Mike McCarthy -- a move Parsons called “devastating. While there have been no trade talks, sources say there have at least been some internal discussions about whether to pay Parsons or trade him for a king's ransom. If the Cowboys are willing to listen, they may get it. Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told NFL.com in December that the team will study the wisdom of having so much money invested in so few players, but added: "I can't imagine there's a scenario where he's not wearing a star on his helmet." Parsons is due about $24 million on the fifth-year option year on his rookie contract in 2025.

Yes I miss having historically bad defenses. We even got to see a glimpse of it while he was out. It’s amazing how the defense suddenly was good again the moment he got back.

But hey Micah Parsons is Micah Parsons but a pick could be anything… it could even be Micah Parsons, and those can turn around entire defenses.
We gave up 44 points in Week 2 to the Saints with a perfectly healthy Parsons.

They didn't score 40 points again the rest of the season.

The defense was bad WITH Parsons.

Trade Micah, tank with the new coaching staff.
OR
Keep Micah, build a defense, because the offense will need all the help they can get. As we know we won't have an elite QB for years.

How do you build a defense when you have the highest paid player ever, the 2nd highest paid WR ever, and the highest paid defensive player ever?

You want a chance you go with the first option. It's the only opinion they could luck into success.

If you have a top 10 pick it’s because your team has so many holes you can’t afford to give up any draft picks.
This is true but if you a top 10 team with a a solid franchise QB.........add a player like Parsons to the defense, you are a better team real fast.

Jerry wants to beat out Nico for the worst trade in Dallas sports history. Sadly this will go on until the end of training camp. The Joneses will never learn their lesson with what happened to Dak and CeeDee. Just another excuse not to use free agency.

If you trade Micah, then draft players. How many of them will still be around by the time they can dump Dak?
How many will then demand high contracts. Yes, Dak will be off the books, unless they have to pay a few years of void years.

But we also know how the FO mishandles contracts. A few other players will have bad contracts, so they can't keep the players they draft in the Micah trade.

It is the hamster wheel effect with this FO.

ahhh, the internet. Such a BS story. “I wonder how much. Micah would be worth in a trade”. This just I , ”cowboys trying to trade Micah”
