Parsons Trade Discussed Internally

First rate player, but some of what he’s had to say to the media and on social media in recent times leaves a lot to be desired character wise. That matters, hugely. You need your top players to be leaders of men, setting an example; not getting into childish arguments, leaking rumours and acting foolishly.

As good as he is on the field, and as lacking as our D is, very few players are truly irreplaceable, and he isn’t one of those.

Additionally, if Eberflus runs the sort of D we expect, Parsons won’t be the most natural fit anyway. Why pay so much for a square peg in a round hole?

I’d trade for some top picks, and then go and get a top edge rusher in Free Agency. With what we’d be saving, we could probably even afford Josh Sweat, who has had a career season somewhat out of nowhere, and is doing well so far tonight.

I don't think Parsons adds any "cancer". I think some fans' perception of Parsons adds a cancer to this forum. I've never heard anyone outside of here say anything negative about him.
I think you are wrong.

With all of your assumptions.

Maybe you dont understand what we were talking about. Or maybe you are so sucked into the Jerry Jones Cowboys culture that you arent able to see the cancers walking around our complex anymore.

And believe me we have a lot of them and they already have spread like a wildfire. I dont believe chemotherapy will do anything good anymore. You have to cut those ulcers out with a big knife.

If Jerry is not going to do anything, then what is the point of the conversation?

Our goal should just be to have league leaders and not worry about winning.

Micah was already on our team. Paying him more does not make our team better. Adding 8 rookies and 20 more 1 year contracts ia not going to result in wins.

Not the problem, but also not the solution.
Exactly, right. Remember last year Jeryy could have extended CeeDee and extended Dak to clear space before free agency. He didn't. Then he used the CAP as an excuse for not signing any players. He is already saying the same things despite the fact he could clear tons of space if he wanted to. He doesn't want to because he doesn't need to. He will clear enough to sign who he wants to keep but he is not diving into free agency looking for someone to make a major contribution.

Maybe this year he will do something different, but it doesn't sound like it so far.

A team is not 1 super hero, that does not show up, when you need him the most.

12 sacks a year against the bottom half off the league, does not impress me.

For whatever reason, a lot of fans seem to think a QB and DE can win SB's all by themselves, including GM Jethro. Go ahead lets have the highest paid Offensive player and highest paid Defensive player in the league and see how that works out for us.
This is such an unfair and superficial perspective on Micah Parsons. How can you watch teams give him so much attention and come up with this? I am trying not to be harsh but what more do you want from him. He is one of two players in the history of the NFL to get 12 sacks or more in his first 4 years in the league.

Am I am not suggesting, and I have never suggested, that 1 player or 3 players can win a Super Bowl. It takes a team. I have been consistently saying Micah needs someone else on the DL to threaten the offense so he doesn't get so much attention. The Cowboys are two stupid of cheap to do that for him and the team. In fact, I have said that the greatest impact the Cowboys can make in the offseason is to get another edge rusher to pressure opposing QBs. That will make Micah better too.

Okay?

So, I guess have fun watching an All-Pro defender in their prime be a part of 6 or 7 wins for the foreseeable future then?

Micah has the unfortunate burden of playing for the Cowboys in the Prescott Era. I'd prefer to see him go be great someone that can win.
It's like I've said before. Parsons will be the next iteration of DWare. Parsons will have to leave, like DWare did, in order to get a ring. Just have to choose whether it's in his prime or past it.

And I'd still not trust this FO to get a trade that's acceptable as well as the ability to use what they get correctly to help this team progress for the long haul.

Only other thought process in trading Parsons would be to truly tank with objective to try to get Manning after finally figuring out they botched re-signing Dak and trying to get their next qb.

I can't live in a world where Parson is a top 5 player at his position, and we trade away while we overpay for Dak who is what top 18-15 player at his position.
I don't disagree, but the Dak deal has already been done. The Cowboys in some form are going to have to try and get creative or else they'll continue to simply run it back every year with a slight reshuffling. I'd rather keep Parsons, but I also have come to accept that Jerry wont be throwing the money at this situation that is needed to get us out of the whole we are in.

The real question is can we trade Trevon Diggs? He most likely ends up on Pup to start the season. We need to figure out a way to get out of this deal.

I can't believe you've written that.
To be fair at least Micah has positive effect on those colleagues around him....looking at CeeDee's numbers last year there wasn't a marked difference between the highest paid QB in the league and an average QB2.
Micah is a weapon, that's Ace attribute is his versatility brought on by his supreme athleticism - what he lacks is discipline, I'd like him to play as a team player that doesn't always appear to sell out to pressure.
We've spent on Dak and CeeDee, it would be nonsensical not to pay the most talented of the three....especially when we've just seen how defences win Championships.

Jerry had the perfect opportunity to tank this year and even screwed that up.

75% of our defense gone?

That sounds like the same "We can't win without Dak" argument except we do nothing but win without Dak.

Trade Parsons today.
POST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn the day Dak leaves, I'm not sure we'll ever win a game is how they portray it lol, I just don't get it "who are you going to replace him with??" I'm tired of hearing this too!

Except we saw our defense without Parsons on the field this year. Not good at all. Only way I trade him is if we can get Garrett or another proven pass rusher. Or get at least 3 first.
did you see the D with him on the field over the years, not much better at all, he came back after having time to rest, usually he tapers out at the end of the year and is "exhausted"

One of the top players at his position. Publicly has stated he doesn't want the highest possible deal

Jones, "Should we trade him, for the brotherhood?"

Of course we will never do it but he will be totally wasted in the Eburflus passive 4-3 where he predictably lines up at weak DE position

Just trade him now
For 2 1s and 2 2s it would be a slam dunk
lol you're getting us ready for it all, why couldn't we not have a guy with a passive d

We desperately need a Herschel Walker trade, but without Jimmy, Jerry would screw it up.

Jerry would draft 3 TE's.
