Parsons Trade Discussed Internally

I would trade Parsons and sign Garrett...if Garrett wants to come here...might be doubtful since he wants a Super Bowl chance.

It's not the amount they are spending but how........

This points to a problem when you have nepotism with zero job fear managing something as complex as the cap vs someone who is qualified.

People clamor for Will McClay but we have no clue if he knows how to manage a cap at all, he might just be a talent evaluator. You'd think Stephen would at least go hire some super nerds to take care of it, but I'm guessing he thinks he's doing a bang up job. We wasted Romo years, and wasted Dak's rookie contract and bad *** offensive line years.

I wish I enjoyed hockey and baseball - dark times ahead for me.

Dumb how they did this intentionally today. Focus on getting to your team to the Super Bowl not just trying to steal marginal headlines

If Parsons is traded who is rushing the passer? Sam Williams coming off an ACL or Marshawn Kneeland?

I like the idea of two 1st round picks and maybe a 2 for Parsons, along with added cap space, but at least one of those picks or a lot of that space needs to be allocated to get his replacement.

So....why not just keep Parsons? Trading Micah is a blow it all up, rebuild move. And I don't think the Cowboys are in that mode after shelling out the Dak and Lamb deals.
Honestly, if we can't stop the run, does it really matter who is rushing the passer?

Are the Eagles a running team or a passing team?

If you can't win your Division, how do you expect to make a deep run in the playoffs?

Eagles smart GM, understood we had Parsons, and countered by adding Barkley, making Parsons basically useless.

Let's see what our great GM Jethro does. Will he even attempt to build a run defense?

Using your logic the Texans would never have Stroud or the Bengals would never have Burrow to begin with.

The Texans would still have Watson (Because why would you ever get rid of a good player, right?!?!?!) and the Bengals would never have drafted Burrow because drafting a QB is scary and what if it doesn't work out?

Personally, I'm fine with doing what you want. I'm all for Dak's QB record being tainted real good until he medically retires in a few years once he milks Jerry for the rest of his contract.
It's not that drafting a QB NEVER works out, but statistics show it does not work out more than it does. The issue I have with people just winging it saying trade Dak, or Micah and get draft picks is they just assume those draft picks will be as good as if not better than the guys we traded and the data does not support that.

I am not saying never trade players. I firmly believe you trade anyone if you get a good return on the trade assuming you have a plan for what you do next. I don't trust Jerry to get a decent return for anyone he seeks to trade. He is just bad at it. Knowing Jerry he would complain about Micah in the media then put him on the block and get a 2th round pick for him. And if he did trade him, I am not sure he would have a plan what to do next.

Why would that be the case? With the money saved we could get 2 significant FA players and draft 2 starters.

Micah is better than 4 starters?
First, Jerry is not going to sign 2 significant free agent players. Micah is due to make $24 million this year. If the extend him they could reduce his CAP to a very small number. Then, you assume they will draft two "starters" But Mazi is a starter. We need players like Micah, not Mazi. You cannot be assured that any rookie they draft will be any better than Mazi and certainly not as good as Micah.

Someone explain to me this argument. "Micah sucks. He's not worth the money". And "Let's trade him for 2 first round picks!".

Lol this team is funny. Once they paid Dak it ruined everything. Might as will pay the kitten too
its stupidity of the GM and his son at the top....we hand out one contract, and the entire team is paralyzed. in the meantime Philly is in the superbowl,

Statistics show overwhelmingly that drafting QBs in the first round is your best chance to win a SB.

A team is not 1 super hero, that does not show up, when you need him the most.

12 sacks a year against the bottom half off the league, does not impress me.

For whatever reason, a lot of fans seem to think a QB and DE can win SB's all by themselves, including GM Jethro. Go ahead lets have the highest paid Offensive player and highest paid Defensive player in the league and see how that works out for us.

They have a director of player contracts and salary cap, Adam Prasifka.

Getting rid of an All-pro defender in his prime would be stupid. He’s not the problem. The problem is the front office’s refusal to sign any real free agents and build a proper team.
Jerry is due to do something dumb. Can't have the Dallas Mavericks GM making Jerry look like a genius.

He wants to win a ring. I doubt if he believes the Cowboys are one of various teams with a fighting chance of making that happen. He knows Dak is 32 and declining and that we are already cash strapped.

I am wondering who these "sources" are. I also believe every team has "internal discussions" about trading star players in an attempt to get a ton in return. It's just that when the Cowboys do it, it generates clicks.

For a random example, I am quite sure the Vikings would never trade Justin Jefferson. But if someone offered them two 1sts, a 2nd, and a player for him, I am sure there would at least be "internal discussions" about doing it.
