If TO starts scoring TD's and behaves, I can see 90% of Dallas Fans RoOting for him in particular. Now the Team is diff. I expect 100% of the FaNs to RoOt for them.

If T.O. were to come to Dallas, not only would I root for the Cowboys, I would also root for T.O. to finally "get it" and be a team player. I would hope that Parcells would help clean his tarnished image by retuning T.O. to the humble Terrell Owens that first came to the 49ers. I would root for him to show respect to the coaching staff and all players and show that it not all about him, but about the team and winning. And of course, I will root for Owens to become the best WR in the league for the Cowboys and light up the stat sheets.

;) hey, I guess this is a Time when you show loyalty to your team. no matter the circumstances.

Sorry but I never believed in that concept. As far as I'm concerned the Dallas Cowboys and any professional and college sports team owes their fans because without fans, the league doesn't exist. We make this league; they don't make us. Without us, it's a just a stupid little game and nothing more. We pay their bills by purchasing tickets, merchandise, all of the products that pay networks the rights to broadcast.

If I was Jerry Jones, I would care what my fans think and how I represent them. Maybe this is an old concept but in my eyes, there is a distinction between winning and winning with class. I don't want to win at the expense of harboring a pariah and something that stands for selfishness. By signing TO, you are condoning his past actions and are saying that you are okay with it.

I respect your opinon for wanting TO but I haven't written posts stating I think you are pathetic for desiring to win at any cost. That is my right to post that opinon as it is your right to post this thread. You can question my loyalty as a fan all you want, but I will question your character as a human being. I will never question another fan but I will offer a hearty defense such as this if any fan questions my loyalty to a team that I love.

I would still support the team but I wouldn't be happy with the decision as I wasn't when Jerry made Dave Campo the head coach for 3 years.

I hated Deion Sanders, couldn't stand the guy, but as soon as he became a Cowboy I rooted for him. Not all of us remember all the players that helped us to 5 SuperBowl titles, but we have 5 SuperBowl titles, and that is all that matters! I can't stand TWO right now, but if he is a Cowboy I will root for him, I will remember that he stomped on the STAR, but I may forget it if he catches the winning TD in the SuperBowl!

You can't compare Deion and TO. Deion was ultimatley a team player. He never complained about playing time or not being put at receiver more. He didn't disrupt chemistry in the locker room. In fact, he was often the peacemaker in the locker room and one who infused energy in the locker room. Yes, he was flamboyant but he wasn't TO.

Yeah i've said this before on another T.O thread, that to me if you don't root for the Cowboys just because of T.O then to me your not a true fan of the team.

Or maybe, a deep diehard fan, who's been a fan since he was 7 would not want a cancer like T.O. to have a chance to destroy his team the way he has the 49ers and Eagles.

Or even if the Cowboys won, and won big with T.O. Could you really stand to see him cheer, jeer and become a complete nuisance while wearing a Cowboys uniform? Something along the lines of Barry Switzer's "We did it our way baby, we did it our way!", but a thousand times worse.

I couldn't watch. I'd want to watch the rest of the team do well, but I couldn't watch T.O. and I'd resent Jerry for making it so I couldn't stand to watch the Cowboys anymore, but I'd have no other team to root for.

Finally, to inject a little humor into a situation that's very serious to me...
My reaction would be like Richard Gere in Officer and a Gentleman... right when the drill sergeant has "broken" him and he threatens to give him a DOR.

"I GOT NO PLACE LEFT TO GO!"

Win at any cost? I completely understand there are some costs too high for winning. T.O. as a Cowboy would completely ruin any Super Bowl run for me. Cowboys with T.O. in the Super Bowl would be worse than anything, because that lame, childish punk would be representing our Dallas Cowboys. This would be the lowest this franchise ever sank if T.O. were a Cowboy, without question.

Some costs are too high!

:laugh2: You read my mind, Herms!

It will never happen, but the thought of LA giving Owens the beatdown almost makes the thought tolerable. :D

Hey, if he comes, he comes. They are still my team and I'll root just as hard for them as I have over the last 35+ years.

As Seinfeld says, you are actully rooting for clothes anyway. ;)

As far as Owens coming to Dallas.

The only way Owens comes here is by agreeing to Parcells terms, so if he does come, you won't see the old Owens.

You will see a different Owens, Parcells does that you know.

But most of all, I have been a Cowboys fan since 1967. I am a die hard fan.

My wife of 30 yrs knew nothing of football or the Cowboys when we married, and now she is a knowledgable NFL fan and a Cowboys homer.

Both of my sons are Cowboys fans.

Everyone who knows me well knows I am a Cowboys fan.

Many people told me after the Skins collapse, "Hey I thought of you that night."

My point is this, I am now, and have been for a long time, and will always be a BIG Cowboys fan, ... I love'm.

I WILL NOT let Terrell Owens take that from me.

have you taken a poll that leads you to believe 90% would root for him?? I think you would be safe to say A LOT of fans not 90%.........

I pray that he never wears the blue and silver..... unless it's CFL or arena! :laugh2:

I find it kinda pathetic when I read and see people saying: "I will not root for the cowboys if TO is on the team''. how can u give up on your team, or how can you turn your back, just b/c TO?!!! That simply does not fit in my mind!!

yes! he dissed the star! We know hes not wanted here! but CERTAINLY I WILL NOT TURN MY BACK ON THE COWBOYS AS A TEAM!! b/c of T.O!! I WILL ROOT FOR THEM!! even if hes here! doesnt mean you're gonna root precisely for TO.

Just MHO.

I agree 100%! I can not think of anything that would ever make me turn my back on the Cowboys.

Honestly, I never have liked people questioning a person's loyalties to their team, but I must say when I read a comment saying if Dallas does this, or Dallas does that, I will never watch them again....well I definetly dont consider you to be a true fan. How could I?

The Cowboys are in my blood, and have shared all the ups and downs since I knew waht football was (1976).

So IMO if you can jump off the wagon, you where never really on. JMO

We would look pretty stupid sitting in the stands, pom poms in hand, faces all painted up, without a game to watch or a team to root for.

Or sitting in front of a TV for 3 hrs watching white snow.

99.9% of the people saying they would no longer be Cowboy fans if TO comes to town are just blowing off steam......talking to hear their head rattle. etc. When push came to shove they would be there rooting for the Cowboys just like they always were.

As for me, being the cranky old bastid I am, I would moan and groan for a week or two, be a pain in the butt on the board, pick a few fights with juke but in the end I would be there rooting for my boyz. The Cowboys have been a big part of life for too long to change alliances now.

As I've said before I will still be a Cowboys fan I will root for them and I will support them and I will cheer for all of them Except for TO. But I will not buy any of their products or tickets as long as he is on the team. It will be my own little protest that will go completely unnoticed by the organization (unless there many more out there of like mind than I expect). But I will know and take comfort in the fact that I am not in any way contributing to TO.

Personally, I dont see T.O. coming to Dallas, although Jerry may harbor some secret desire, at some level, to have an explosive player like that on the roster.
As Jimmy Johnson said a few weeks ago on FOX pre-game show, T.O. and his agent are going to now have to accede to a any new team's contract agreement, a one-year deal, small signing bonus, loaded with conditions and escape clauses to jettison him if he repeats his coach-killing, anti-team antics again. Sounds like Jimmah might have this one about right. I still dont see T.O. wearing a star, although stranger things have happened before.:

I dont understand how you guys that want him can overlook his 3rd grade attitude and his solid gold image of himself.

Have you guys not seen what he did in SF. Have you guys not seen what he did in Philthy?

If keythrew a fit and would not talk to media, called Parcells an idiot and called beldsoe a *** and told Peytion to not talk to him till he was spoken too, you same guys would be calling for his head.

When it started effecting us and FA leave cause they no longer want to be associated with this stink, FA like D Ware, JJones, M Barber and P Crayton.

If you guys can actually look us pple that know in the face and tell us you actually think Parcells and Roy or Glover or Bledsoe will keep TO in check, I can actually tell you for every one in here that can say that, you are delusional. Reid was thought of as a tough coach before this. Look how it turned out with His best buddy in the whole world on the same team.

TO is all about TO and nothing we do, Parcells does, Glover, or Bledsoe does will change him. He will continue to throw fits if hes not getting hsi way. His way is to be the center of the football universe. Every pass MUST come his way, We need to run less and pass more. We need to score on every pass play. Or we will piss off the mighty TO.

He will ruin this team and send us back to before 5 years ago. You think we are rebuilding now, wait till TO gets finished with this team. You aint seen nothing yet.
