I think it's funny that people hate TO with so much passion. I wonder if the massive media hype on his antics doesn't ramp up the level of dislike for the guy. Don't get me wrong I'm not defending him or his actions. But I do think Bill Parcells has it right when he refused comment on TO or how the Eagles were handling things saying "I'm not there. In not on the inside of that- I don't know the player and I don't know what led up to what the Eagles did". Yet to read the level of hate from some posters you'd think the guy was Charles Manson and that we as real outsiders know all the facts.

It's true Owens has said some really dumb things, that much we do know. He may not be that bright or maybe he's just nuts, who can say? Listening to Drew Rosenhaus tell him he would get him a new contract was probably his biggest mistake since that set the rest of the events that followed in motion. Would he be as annoying here? Would he be a cancer? Is he just a bad guy? I'll defer to Bill Parcells judgement on that. Because I have great confidence Parcells will look at that situation carefully and get all the facts before he brought him to Dallas. IBWT. If Bill brings him in, then he's got my support.

And I think it is pathetic to proceed with a win at all cost mentality!

That is what Philly did and most everyone on this board laughed at them and what most everyone predicted would happen did. But somehow BP, who could not even tame a nobody like Antonio Bryant is going to keep TO in check. Please!!

I've said in one of the other T.O. threads before that if he is signed here, I will liken the day to the day which Tom Landry was fired. I was very upset that day but still rooted for the Cowboys and was very happy because of the early 90's success. I will visit that frame of mind again if/when Owens signs in Dallas.

Remember the day when this prick stood on the star...

Parcells did keep AB in check. He got rid of him. And there is no doubt any contract with Owens would have behavior protection for the Cowboys. If he behaves, he could be a big asset, if he misbehaves he's released.

Thanks for the statement el jefe... I feel exactly the same... I didn't jump ship when Deion signed on and I don't plan on doing it if TO winds up here either.

Nobody is saying win at all costs.

Do you think Parcells would bring him in here while still thinking or fearing that Owens would bring the organization down ?

Not gonna happen.

If Owens ends up here, he will be under Parcells thumb before he signs the papers.

And I get tired of reading posts that say Parcells couldn't handle AB.
Trust me, Parcells could handle AB, he just decided AB wasn't worth the headache.

He wasn't productive enough on the field to have to put up with his crap.

Relax man, if Parcells thinks he can work with Owens, everything will be ok.
If not, he won't end up here anyway.

Without question I would cheer for my 'Boys, even with T.O. We, as fans, can't decide whom Jerry Jones decides to bring on to the Cowboys. So if T.O. ends up playing with us next season, so be it... I won't like it, but what else can I do? If T.O. scores a TD, then I will be VERY happy because our team scored... or because our team won.

You still need a total of 50+ players to help you win games, it's not all on one player. I don't have to like the guy, but I wil always cheer for the Cowboys.

I just hope that no TRUE Cowboy fans would EVEN think about buying T.O.'s jersey if he played with the Cowboys next season.

GO COWBOYS!!!

Exactly.

There's a lot of people armed at the ready to make a stand against TO, and any of the low-life, low-principle fans that would dare suggest he might be a bargain if there was coach that could straighten him out.

Whatever.

The Dallas Cowboys have had a number of CRIMINALS that have played football for the team throughout history. Crimes ranging from exposing one's self to a minor, to inhaling cocaine in front of millions watching on TV have been committed by those we've cheered for, while we've been fans of the team.

TO is a loud mouthed idiot.

You guys ready to make a stand, and not buy any tickets or disown the team can do as you choose, but I'll bet you've unknowingly cheered for, and in many cases forgave a lot worse than TO over the years.

If you can't draw the line somewhere as to who you won't root for on your team, then you have no concept of keeping a good team image, and a cohesive locker room atmosphere! This next little sports call is for you.

Sportsline, the Dallas Cowboys have signed and thawed out a cryogenically frozen, and steriod abusing Adolf Hitler, a WR absolutely KILLING over in NFL Europe, with a 4.0 second 40 time, towering at 6'5" and lean cut 240 pounds. He is an absolute talent with some amazing moves and hands. However there are SOME concerns over unnamed off the field issues.

Gameday, Super Bowl Sunday.

First down and ten now, the Cowboys pinned on their 8 yard line. .... Bledsoe drops back..... It's a slant over the MIDDLE!!! CAUGHT, ADOLF!!! He'sbreakingaway253040MIDFIELD!HE'SGOTONEMANTOBEAT!! IT'SAFOOTRACE,HE'SSTREAKINGUPTHESIDELINE!! NOONECANCATCHHIMNOW!! 25,20,10,5,TOUCHDOWN!! ADOLF HITLER!! ADOLF..HIEL...HITLER!! The crowd is chanting now, ADOLF! ADOLF!ADOLF!!ADOLF!!

DEFINITELY ONE OF THE GREATEST DALLAS COWBOYS EVER, SHOULD BE A LOCK FOR THE RING OF HONOR!

:puke: :ralph: :puke: :ralph: :puke: :ralph: :puke: :ralph: :puke: :ralph:

Or, maybe character and being a team CANCER does matter.

Funny, but.....TO is a closer match to Keyshawn Johnson than Adolph Hitler I do believe.

I would say T.O. is a closer match to Bill Romanowski, but a lot worse! Most of that previous post is just to blow off a little steam. This is mostly a dead issue now, THANKFULLY!!!

That's flat out hilarious, but come on...we won't have careened out of control down the slippery slope until we start nodding 'yes' to the Carruths and OJs.

TO's a wacko cancer, but he is just too far from genocide to make the Adolph analogy stick. :D I think most folks can still easily draw the morality line between outrageous ego/selfishness and pure evil.

The problem with TO is that we can't be sure if he CAN be handled by a Parcells type coach, or if he is so disturbed, no one could control him, including himself.

I think it's the latter - he is well beyond Bill's capability and willingness range - but I can sure see why others hope it's the former.

Okay, but Romo is a cheater. Criminals and cheaters are best compared to criminals and cheaters.

Is someone who runs his mouth and says stupid things and brags about himself and does dumb little dances in the end zone and sometimes talks bad about his teammates, as bad as criminals and cheaters?

You want to say TO is bad for team chemistry and he could rip the team apart and it's a huge risk to take the guy on, that's fine and I agree, but when someone questions the moral ethics of those that mention it, that's pretty funny.

We're not talking about signing O.J. Simpson.

And you're right, it's a dead issue now. Bring on Denver!

99.9% of the people saying they would no longer be Cowboy fans if TO comes to town are just blowing off steam......talking to hear their head rattle. etc. When push came to shove they would be there rooting for the Cowboys just like they always were.

As for me, being the cranky old bastid I am, I would moan and groan for a week or two, be a pain in the butt on the board, pick a few fights with juke but in the end I would be there rooting for my boyz. The Cowboys have been a big part of life for too long to change alliances now.

and this is different from now, how? :D

Really. T.O. worse then Romanowski. Wow get me the link where he did something worse to a teammate then smashing in the side of his face with 1 hit like Romo did to his teammate.

I have a good idea. Those who say they will not be Cowboy fans if T.O. is signed or not watch or back the team. How about this. If we sign T.O. we just ban them from the forum until T.O. is done in Dallas. Really. If they back their talk they should have no problem with this since they wont be Cowboy fans anymore.
