Patrick Crayton Appreciation Thread...

I don't agree with your statement that we cannot win with Crayton as a #2, because he would catch 49 of 50 of that one he dropped (because he does have very good hands)- I am confident of that.

One of the first things that BP said about Crayton was that the game was not too big for him.

For some reason, that playoff game was. But that is not the first time he has quit on a route - I think he has caused a couple of INt's doing that on slants if I remember correctly.

I dont have the confidence in him that you do but I guess time will tell.

Zeroclub, you and me both brother you and me both!!!!!

then who steps up when TG goes down? Hurd? Stanback? Miles? none of them have the hands of Crayton. Boo freaking hoo he had a bad game, which just happened to be in the biggest game of his career to date.

and next year after he converts even more third downs, people will love him once more. most people have short memories.

really at this point i want o know whats causing our offense as a whole to swoon. this is the second year in a row where the offense gets worse while our defense gets better.

i don't know if its spagnola, or guys like Adams, williams and the like or what but this is a trend at this point.

Spagonal who? the Giants defensive Cord? Keith Davis said they didn't show them anything different then the past two games.. execution .execution. blocking tackling passing catching.

The offensive line play is a major part of it. Tony Romo can only buy so much time in the pocket when things break down. It works in the beginning of the year, but you just can't sustain that type of play over the long run.

If there are no holes for the running back, even a guy like Barber will eventually wear down and get tackled.

sorry im tired and my mind is a bit flat. sparano.

But didn't all the offenses swoon in the playoffs? NE could not get it done. NY really did not have a consistent offense in the playoffs, Green Bays was nothing to write home about.

The fact of the matter is that after 16 games DC in the NFL figure out how to get it done against top offenses. It just comes down to execution at that point.

We did not execute!

there wre holes for the running backs though. Garret just wasnt calling it. drove me friggin nuts.

Thank you Patrick Crayton for carrying your signing bonus around in your
pants, tiring out and quitting on your route.

Keep calling out other players!!

well that's a pretty big game. to come up lame don't you think? Austin plays well, he had a couple of chances against GB but didn't get a to show his stuff cause of a few pass interference.
we will see this year how PC performs I'm sure there will be a lot of competition for that 3 spot. but he is handsomely paid so who knows. again I reiterate my confidence in him is out the door

I don't think so, and that is why we saw so much difference between JJ and Marion.

Marion can simply break tackles or bust a run to the outside when nothing is there. In the Giants games, even Troy was talking about how Marion has this incredible lateral movement that allows him to bust outside when nothing is there. JJ can't and if the hole isn't there, he is going straight into the back of the OL. We saw it way too many times this whole season, and while it may have been partly attributed to JJ, you can't blame it all on him.

That is why I think HH is the biggest addition to this staff overall. I'm glad Sparano left.

It was bad in December too which completely destroys that point.

OK so the slobs on the line were tired ..... what do you think it was T.O got hurt in the mid of the Panther game and Voila, we suck...no #1 wr. go to town opposing D's. cause there's no one out there but JW..I don't know what the problem is but we have problems

I also think that we didn't see as much motion by the end of the year. Jason got to comfortable in what he was doing with his WRs. He seemed to have them running too many vertical routes without using any quick slants and screens to keep the rush off balance. Against the Giants, TO got wide-open when he ran the play across the field in the red-zone. It is surpising we did it so few times.

I think the best game from an offensive stand-point was the first Philly game, when TO was being used all over the field.

I'm not a coach but I see what I see especially when guys drop balls I cant stand that.. I still blame Jackie Smith as well, I don't care how great he was also he lost us that SB....

i can see that. I just dont think Garrett put the running game in a postion to succeed.

that being said the line play on the run has sucked for three years now.

I like Crayton and have supported him and will continue to support him but like others I was very disappointed in his play in the playoffs. Dallas really needed him to step up with TO less than 100 and he did not do it, he did talk some trash leading up to the game and if you are going to do that then I expect the player to back it up. I don't single Crayton out as the reason we lost but he sure did not help us out

Do you think he is a Great number #3 WR and if he is what does that make Welker.

One of the best, and most level headed, responses i've seen to this.

Maybe, But no one ever said I was level headed,. I'm too emotional for that ! Hell I still blame Jackie Smith for dropping that TD in the SBXIII
