I will be hopeful we allocate those dollars somewhere else which gives us leverage to cut or restructure Carr.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

So what would provide that leverage? Signing a player at a different position?

Might be time to come to grips with the idea that Carr might be around to taunt you with his presence.

Used us to get more $ from the Colts?

We will never know that. Might hear conjecture, but it will never get out there that we A) lowballed him or B) couldn't give him the assurances he probably wanted.

Right now, he is basically a starter in Indianapolis barring them taking a CB with their first choice.

Even if he signed a cheap contract, he probably has a lot more incentives built in that we could not necessarily assure him were attainable.

All in all, I do not view it as a real loss, other than the Carr thing. But they have had the opportunity to change that since the season ended and deliberately chose not to do so.

This is what I was going to suggest, but it doesn't take into account the agent fiasco. The deal with the agent would seem to back up his statement of something illegitimate happening. Either that, or he used firing the guy to get out of the deal and then scapegoated him.

It would be absolute poetic justice if they drafted Hargreaves or Alexander.

I don't follow.

I'm hangry and rueing (mostly). I think he went to the Colts for the guaranteed starter job, so if they selected Hargreaves or Alexander (both of which could/would be better) he might get bounced anyway.
