Patrick Robinson deal put on hold **Update: Signs with Colts**

This reliance on the draft to fix every need is baffling. What past draft success gives you this confidence?

Exactly. Just because we now draft better at the top for the most part does not mean our drafts produce that many hits. We still miss on majority. We still can hardly even fill out a competent starting 11 on defense, much less have any depth.

Maybe this why he got a new agent? The old agent essentially agreed to a deal he did not authorize?

That's what it sounds like. The agent secured what he felt was a good deal for his client and jumped on it. Apparently playing in Dallas wasn't Robinson's preference.

Why is it on the player?

It could very well be a misunderstanding. His agent did something without his consent and it blew up.

You have to admit, you do not see the kind of odd things floating through the media, so that is really the source.

All in all, it was Rapoport running around saying it was a done deal. Then other "sources" saying it was imminent, then others saying he was more likely than Morris.

All false.

Wasnt Clarence Hill the one who said it was done first? At the owners meetings?

So who's left?

I think I would have wanted the guys in bold more than Robinson anyway:rolleyes:

I wonder if FAs are not signing due money or length of the contract? Most of the deals have been in the 1-3 years.

Hall is the guy i want, otherwise lets roll with the guys we have (excluding Carr) and a draft pick.

Two days in Dallas no deal.

A few hours in Indy and he was sold. Smh

Had no desire to play in Dallas. Sounds like his agent agreed to the deal with Dallas and then convinced Robinson to visitValley Ranch to meet with the staff.

Sounds like same amount of money.....Nope guess not

Cowboys offered 3yr- 13.5

Colts 3yr-12

Ouch:omg:

Not alot of money to walk away from...but still...a million and a half is 1.5 million:rolleyes:

Can we play without corners?

Both? I mean seems like Jerry no longer has the open checkbook for these guys. Stephen seems alot more involved.

6 mil was too rich for 24 year old Miller but they were going to pay this bum 5 mil a year?

More important position. One 3rd the guarantee. Nearly 30% smaller AAV. Shorter total commitment.

But yeah almost totally the same thing.
