Patriots are doing this because of the $$$ and last year of his contract. Cooks is now on his fifth year option - $8.459 and next year as a free agent he's looking at better than Sammy Watkins' $16 million average.

Rams come out smelling like a rose. Cooks is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Watkins is or ever will be. So glad our idiot idea to sign Watkins fell through.

Horrible trade for the Rams.

First, you don’t do deals with the Pats because they always win and secondly...

You traded your 23rd overall pick for a player that is in his fifth year option. Within the next two years, the Rams will now have their QB/RB/ and WR looking to be paid as the best at their position and that is not even counting their young defensive players.

Cooks may be good and he is better than Watkins but that’s two teams in a row now that don’t think he’s worth paying. That’s alarming IMO.

.

For the record the Pats have lost just about every trade theyve made the last two years, before today.

Theyve been abyssmal in trades as of late.

Patriots change and adapt. They use to live and die by the draft. Then they switched it up. Dallas is just trying to catch up.

I think they're going after OBJ

And if the do this board will explode talking about how the Pats are so ahead of the Cowboys blah blah blah.

After we had just had a thread about OBJ, and no one was willing to give up more than a 3rd LMAO

They traded for Cooks and flipped him for a better pick one year later. They traded Collins and he’s not been that great. They lost on Ealy but they didn’t risk much..it was basically a trade down.

LLLLLLOOOOLLLLL, Love that 2nd sentence because it is the truth when dealing with the Pats. This board is on fire today.

Dez and Beasley to the Pats for Gronk.
That would be another screwed up Jerrah trade. Gronk has been missing a bunch more games than Dez and Dez is hurt too much. And trade Beasley too? Ever dawn on y'all that much of Gronk's quality comes from the QB throwing to him? Kinda like Jimmy Graham ... not nearly as good when he left Brees,

Rams absolutely got hosed in this deal.

I wouldn’t say hosed. A bit one sided.

They are likely trading a pick from the 26-32 range for a 1,000 yard guy. They seem to be all in this season. He’s a legit deep threat who is much better than Watkins was.

I said before today, its literally right there.

They traded their 1st last year(Ryan Ram) for Cooks. Cooks did fine, but Ram looked like a quality starting LT in his rookie year. They lost that.

Collins has been as good as a 3rd round comp pick, they didnt win that one either.

Traded Brissett for a 4th lmao, lost that.

Traded Jimmy G for a 2nd, lost that.

Traded for Ealy, lost that BADLY.

Essentially traded a 4th for Gillislee, lost that badly too.

They havent won a trade before today in a good while.

A one year rental. And they still nearly won the whole thing - again! And now they flip a guy they determined they weren't going to pay and get a first round pick back.

Amazing how some teams do this.

Moves like this and Watkins getting what he got in FA show the folly in those that think the Cowboys have all this leverage over Bryant.

If Bryant calls the Cowboys bluff on cutting him and the Cowboys do cut him, Bryant will find himself a nice home and a nice contract somewhere else.

The Cowboys only leverage here is to play on Bryant’s apparent desire to stay in Dallas.
