I don't think Lynch makes it out of the Top 10 personally.

It's possible he does not but, if I look at the top 10, Obviously Rams traded up to take a QB. Will Cleveland take a QB? They may not and that could be a trade down but with who? I don't know what Philly could trade, they don't have anything really. San Francisco could move up but it would be really expensive to do it. Lets say that Cleveland takes a QB or one of these two teams trades up. That leaves Lynch as the next QB up but if he goes to SF or Philly, is he ready to start? If he's not, how long before he starts? San Francisco still has Gabbert and Kaepernick. Do they see Lynch as a much better prospect then either of those two, I don't know. With Philly, they might take him but again, I don't know how much they like him and I don't know if they could afford to wait for him because he is not ready to start today IMO. Bears are stuck with their guy so who is next? Maybe Miami?

Evidently you don't hear your own thoughts because believing that the gamble on a QB past his prime without any significant accomplishments on his resume is a better option should have been the dumbest thing you heard today..

Haha a qb that's in Detroit. That was 0-16 when he went there. He turned them around. Paxton lynch wouldn't.

5 QBs have thrown for 5,000 yards in a season. Manning, Brady, Brees, Marino and Stafford.

And you attribute that to his talent or the fact that Megatron was his #1 target. So what he threw for 5000 yards, when did he do that, what are the chances of him doing it again, how old would he be when he would take over for Romo? How far has he took his team in the playoffs?

You're putting up strawmen. You said he had nothing on his resume, which simply isn't true. Not many QBs have put up better stats than him by age 28. Just last year, with a bad offensive line and very little running game, he put up 4,200 32/12 on 67%.

He'd be younger than Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner were when they were signed and went on to play in SBs. Or last years MVP runner up, Carson Palmer, when Arizona signed him.

I think you could move down into the teens and take Lynch. I think he might be there but I don't see him there in the 2nd or even late first.

History shows that QB's stock goes up on draft day. I think it will be even moreso now that there's a rookie cap in place. Less financial risk involved. So not only is there less of a penalty for a QB being a bust, but you can also afford to keep him on the bench until he's ready.

I guess we would be looking for different attributes on a resume.

The top guys, maybe. Not sure that holds true after that. Clausen, Rodgers, Lienart, Bridgewater, Geno, Quinn...I think they fall as often as they shoot up.

Lynch is my favorite QB but if Ramsey or Tunsil are there I can't justify the pick. I would however be open to trading back into the first round to get him.

I think that's true if your talking about a QB who is not a top 10 guy. I think there is considerable pressure for most GMs and HCs to play high profile Rookie QBs. We are unique, in that, our HC and GM don't have to fear that. If you are SF or Philly, this is an issue IMO. For us it's not.

You are correct, there are lots and lots of questions.....more than there are answers at this point. Part of what makes the draft so intriguing!

Just no...

I'd rather just go ahead and suck again for a few years and draft even higher than 4.

These guys are all reaches at this point.

Derek Carr was drafted in the 2nd round.

Pick a better year. The damage you do to your team by trades like this or drafting them too high is not worth a shot at an average QB prospect.

So why put ourselves in a position in the future to have to make trades like this. Lynch is a first round talent, an above average prospect.

Johnson is a WR, since when did WR become the position that most dictate a franchise's success?

Say what you want about how important the QB is, but it's still a team game. Give me Marino over Eli, Romo over Dilfer, and Stafford over Sanchez. (To name a few examples.)

Stafford's stats put him in some pretty rare company at this stage in his career, and he put up big numbers with Calvin out too. You're welcome to your opinion, but I disagree with the notion that they mean nothing because his team didn't win more games.

Don't make trades like this ever. Don't reach like this ever. Again, a lot of quality NFL QBs were solid value on draft day. You don't have to overpay to get a solid QB.

But even assuming we did, it would be wise to wait and overpay next year or the following. You extend your evaluation period. Ask the 9ers (Kaep), Bills (Fitz), etc if they'd have loved an extra year before breaking the bank. Ask the Skins if they're glad they had an extra year (RG3) before making that call.

Plus you get some of Romo's money off the books and you strengthen your current window in the meantime.

Even if the call is reach now or reach later - reach later is more appealing.

Super Bowls put Eli and Dilfer in rare company, and in the end that is how qbs are measured. Once again we measure resumes by different scales.

I likely don't have much in common with anyone who suggests Eli or Dilfer are better QBs than Dan Marino. At least we understand each other.

How long have you been a Cowboy fan, after years of bargain slumming, this fan has grown weary of wasting years on long long shots. Sure it eventually worked out with Romo, but how many failures between Aikman and Romo.
