Per Mike Fisher: Jerry is worried if he can sell the idea of Mike McCarthy return to fans

Sign him to a 4 year extension to coincide with Dak’s contact. Why not? It’s all going to be the same anyway. If he ends up firing him, he will probably wait till the last minute like he did with Garrett and let all of the top candidates go to other jobs. The alternative maybe Jeff Fisher or Rex Ryan.

I remember back in 2003 how excited we all were when Jerry hired Parcells. Things were really looking up. Jerry was listening to the fans. But it was all a lie. It didn't take long before drunken Jerry blurted out the real reasons for the hire and started bringing cancerous players into the locker room that Bill didn't want. That was when things started really spiraling down the toilet and I have hated Jery ever since.
I hated him as soon as Jimmy left.

Mike Fisher , I am convinced that he's one of those people that just like hearing himself talk, and is or was one of those hack sports reporters, that make up stuff and say he has a source, also one of those guys that thinks that he knows more than anyone else

What can he possibly sell either way? 1. How is anyone still buying what he has to say? I don't care who the coach is at this point and 2. How do you make a move to a completely new coaching staff and still do nothing in the offseason? Jerry and his kid are morons, now you're worried about the fans? Just more lip service from a guy with zero accountability. You could always host another crap boxing match to make up for it.
THEN FOLLOW ANOTHER TEAM!!!

I thought that was pretty decent from Fish, but I've always thought the sales angle was a huge part of it. Of course it is. If the team starts 3-3 next year with a different coach, fans will give the new guy some slack. If they start 3-3 with McCarthy, or probably even 2-2, they'll want McCarthy's head. And Jerry's for not making a change.

It's a huge reason I think Jerry will let Mike go, even if the new HC isn't as good a coach.

Yes it's Fish, I know a lot of you don't care for him that much, I just like to hear this insight

What “insights” are you talking about? He just repeats the jones’ talking points, with occasional tweaks.

So, let’s get this straight.

- Bring back puppet Head Coach and average defensive coordinator
- Already claiming we WONT spend in free agency
- No top 5 pick. Going to be picking around 10-12.
- Two of our best players likely out some of most of next year (Diggs, Overshown).

I don’t think he’s gonna be able to hire a difference maker. I’d rather give McCarthy a new deal than end up with a Saleh type hire.

I said it before and I will continue saying it.

I don’t hate the idea of bringing back McCarthy.

But if you bring him back you have to be active in free agency and kill the draft. A staff makeover is needed as well

This is also just another indicator showing how crappy of a GM he is.

He should be making decisions based on whether they are right for the team to WIN going forward. Regardless of what the fans think.

The fans have been right about moves the team needs to make far more often than Jones has. If he followed the obvious moves that the fans suggest such as closing the curtains and drafting a QB in the first round and those moves worked it would prove Jerry wrong. He won't make those moves for that very reason, so the team continues to flounder decade after decade.

Yeah, that's leadership.

Jerry wants to know if his decisions will be popular with the fans. He's not as concerned as to whether the decision is sound.

Jerry could make a great politician, which is not a compliment.

Jerry is basically saying, "Tell me what you want to hear and that is what I will say, although that is not necessarily what I believe, nor is it what I will actually do."
