Per Werder Cowboys have not discussed Forte or Jeffrey

I give a third for Jeffrey, today.

I would too but if its just a 3rd rounder why not keep him if you're the Bears? If i'm the Bears i'm not taking anything less than a 2nd or maybe even a 1st. Whoever they draft in the 2nd round next season won't be as good as him.

To rent him for this season? That's insanity.

Not for someone his age and upside. He has potential to be a top 10 receiver in the league if he's not already one. A 3rd rounder even for a rental is nothing but who knows. He doesn't have to be a rental. Cowboys have enough money to re-sign him.

There is no viable reason to even think of getting Alshon.

Why would you give up anything just to have him for this season? Are you really going to pay big money to two WR?

That wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

It would make sense to have another solid player to a offense that seems to be set everywhere else but receive. I'm not saying do a Roy Williams trade for him. But i'd do a 2nd rounder for him. He's a 1st round talent. He'd be well worth it. But if i'm the Bears why on earth would you trade him?

Because they don't want to pay him next year when his contract is up. Might as well get something for him.

They're basically dumping their entire team because they know they're going into total rebuild mode.

That said I know Alshon is a talent. However with a salary cap I'm not sure it's the best idea in the world to be handing out two rather large contracts at the WR position.

Especially when you're going to need to find more help elsewhere in the future. RB, DL, more O-line, secondary. These are all going to need more resources put into them (D-Line in particular) so tying up more money at WR when you've already got you elite #1 WR just isn't smart management.

Therefor giving up a high pick to rent that WR for one season, and not even the full season at that, just doesn't make good sense.

Why wouldn't they want to pay him? Who else is going to get their money? They have no problem paying Cutler to sit on the bench.

We have a qb that won't go downfield and we trade for a wide reciever ..... Ok

You don't need a receiver to just go down field. Did you not just witness Julio Jones running slants and killing us underneath and turning it into 10-20 yards each time?

Cutler will be cut at the end of the season. The team is clearly going to go into full clean house mode and start over.

Well I wouldn't trade anything more than a 3rd rounder for a rental.

This organization has already showed they don't want to spend big money on running backs and they've invested enough in defensive linemen to be okay there as well. They do not need to spend big money anywhere unless its re-signing a few guys.

This is not about our future. This is about now. And if you are truly trying to take advantage of Romo's prime how is this not the move to do?

I think his point being that the current QB situation means you're not going to see him going at WR very often at all.

Where would you rather spend that 10+ million a year? On another linebacker?

Jeffrey is reasonably young. I find it telling they are willing to part with him.

Buyer beware.

I understand that but I don't understand how you don't do it with Alshon? He's only 25 and he plays receiver lol. I mean i'm not arguing with you hear or denying what you're saying. I just find it odd they want to do that. I understand cleaning house but Alshon is young enough to be a part of that rebuild.

Could be a injury concern. I don't think talent or skill should be in question. But I'm sort of a little curious myself why they'd part with him. I understand wanting to rebuild but how wouldn't he be apart of that rebuilding process.

If Romo were healthy right now, maybe. He's not.

So you might rent this guy and Romo comes back to a team with 2 wins who might be out of the playoff race anyway. That's not exactly a good gamble.

And no you always need more D-Linemen and lets not forget that we only have Hardy for this year. He may not resign here next year. D-Law doesn't appear to be getting any better. So he might not be much for us either going forward.

3rd round picks are WAY more valuable than that. No smart team will give that for Jeffrey. Nobody.
