I understand that but I don't understand how you don't do it with Alshon? He's only 25 and he plays receiver lol. I mean i'm not arguing with you hear or denying what you're saying. I just find it odd they want to do that. I understand cleaning house but Alshon is young enough to be a part of that rebuild.

For the record I don't believe they'll actually move Alshon. I think he's one of the few they will keep to build the team around.

Well you know what if that's going to happen then we need to change quarterbacks ASAP. We aren't going to go anywhere going to Dunbar 20 times a game underneath.

Unfortunately that's the sad state we're in with Weeden and would most likely be with Moore as well. I'm not sure if Cassel would be anything more than that but I definitely would feel better with him then either of the other two.

Where would you rather spend that 10+ million a year? On another linebacker?

How much money can you put towards the offense? Romo, Tyron, Witten, and Dez are among the highest paid for their position in the NFL. Frederick and Martin will both need to be paid top dollar to be retained over the next couple of years.

You can have $10M guy at every position on the offense. There has to be cap left over for the defense.

I mean I know they're bus drivers but goodness the term bus driver doesn't mean just check down to running backs all day. That's insane. All you have to do is throw it up to Alshon and he'll get it.

Let's don't kid ourselves though. This team is built from the offense. This defense probably won't be much better than it is right now without guys simply just getting better. Its going to get better form within. I don't see this defense adding a 100 million dollar player on defense or anything like that.

If Romo were healthy right now, maybe. He's not.

So you might rent this guy and Romo comes back to a team with 2 wins who might be out of the playoff race anyway. That's not exactly a good gamble.

And no you always need more D-Linemen and lets not forget that we only have Hardy for this year. He may not resign here next year. D-Law doesn't appear to be getting any better. So he might not be much for us either going forward.

I understand but this defensive line needs to be addressed through the draft anyway. A lot of these players you are talking about we are going to need? Their positions will be addressed through the draft. I just feel if its a 3rd rounder that's a small price to ask for a player the caliber of Alshon even if it is for one year.

3rd round picks are WAY more valuable than that. No smart team will give that for Jeffrey. Nobody.

3rd round picks also get cut every year. Chances of you finding a player like Alshon Jeffrey's in the 3rd round are a lot smaller than you think.

Yeah, let's give a 3rd-round pick for a hurt receiver that will be looking for a ton of money in four months.

Didn't we finally STOP doing stupid crap like that?

It's called desperation of a potential SB team only by it's QB who's on his last leg. Along with an owner who's literally on his last leg of health.

We couldn't complete a pass to Alshon for at least 6 games, so I'm not sure it would make sense for this season.

A broken collarbone is his last leg? So when Rodgers broke his collarbone, that was his last leg, too? Roethlisberger, Peyton, Brees, Palmer.....

I get what he's saying though. It's hard to expect for Romo to play at a high level for 2 or 3 more years at his age. Not to say he can't but I wouldn't expect it.

Getting either one would be a dream. You give up a 3rd round pick for either in a heartbeat.

True, but Romo has been far more effective than Alshon Jeffrey in recent times. That guy has been awol for some time.

Not talking about the collarbone. All those players you listed do not have the back problems that Romo does. He took one shove in the back in the NYG game and he's already taking shots again. His back as Romo has said over and over will never be the same. You just have to manage the pain. Yes all these other QB's have ailments from the battlefield but your back is included with every move you make and is not as easily controlled as other parts of the body. Did you see Rogers play last night? That was Romo 6-7 years ago. Now, every time Romo falls over, watch him get up. It's painful to watch because it's almost like he's uncertain what part of him is going to fall off. I love Romo's competitiveness but his time is limited and the clock is clicking like Manning.. They are all saying Manning will retire this next year. Jerry, God bless him is trying so hard to put it all together and is desperate. Why I wish we would have bought that RB from MInn. There I didn't even say his name.

Unless the Bears don't plan on resigning Jeffery (which is silly,) why would they ever give him up for a 3rd round pick? He has so much more value than any WR you're going to likely get in the 3rd round.

Romo took multiple spears to the back against the Giants, not just one hit.

Good point however the point is that if you think the opposing defenses are going to let up on him, not a chance. They smell blood. Romo is not clock QB like Manning or Brady and his offense is not designed to get rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds. He's going to take hits, legal or not. I hate it but it's how he plays and the offense he plays in. Again he's the toughest QB on the field but that does not protect his back any better. Taking hits are part of the game and he's an accessory the opposing team would rather see on the sideline.
