1-8 when the opposing team scores at least 24. Russell cannot make it happen when the team he is playing against engages in a shoot-out. Wilson had more 100 yard passing games than probably three hundred. I think he had at least six. They could score under twenty and consistently win.

The Commanders in their read option the first year had Morris close to two thousand and RG3 probably around at least 1000. It doesn't mean they were great because of yardage.

I don't even know what the statistics are for Seattle defense in creating TOs for Wilson and starting defense.

Wilson can't sniff Romo's jock.

But who cares? Why are you guys always so worried about other team's quarterbacks?

Good simple post. Season is over guys, let's move on and concentrate on our team. You don't need extra grey hairs especially after a season that ended like this do you?

Not jealous of Wilson in the least he is very good at what he does, his athletic ability allows him to put pressure on the defense but when he has been held in the pocket and forced to work out of it he has struggled. I'm not talking 1 game but many games where when he is forced to remain in the pocket he has not faired well. Romo does not have the same athletic ability but in terms of working from the pocket or using his mobility within the pocket Romo is a better QB. Going to the SB has as much to do with an outstanding defense than anything else. Seattle does not put Wilson in many situations where the is asked to throw nearly as much as Romo has been asked over the years.

Not saying you're jealous but there are a lot of Cowboy FANS who are jealous that Wilson has accomplished a lot more than Romo in only 3 seasons. Most are giving the team Wilson plays for all the credit and some have even claimed the Seahawks could have reached consecutive SB's with Tavaris Jackson even though his career numbers aren't even close to as efficient as Wilson's numbers have been. When Brady lost the SB to the Giants in 2011 Cowboy FANS started tearing his game apart and one even claimed if Romo was in NE the Pats would have 6 SB wins. LOL That particular FAN talked about how much more athletic Romo is than Brady and tried spinning Romo is the better QB. It boggles the mind the things you read from FANS on these boards. Like I mentioned Wilson is still a developing QB and yes he has some flaws in his game as all 3rd year QB's do but he will keep getting better. Most Cowboy FANS are all about numbers and passer ratings to try and prop Romo up ahead of QB's who've won championships. We've seen many arguments pinning Romo vs Eli, Roethlisberger, Flacco and now Wilson. I don't care about the numbers I look at playoff wins and championships and if FANS want to claim Wilson is being carried by his defense and running game let them. In Wilson's first 2 seasons he tossed 26 TD's which is 3 more TD passes than Troy Aikman ever had. Aikman only tossed 20 plus TD's once in his entire career. Wilson's 3475 passing yards in 2014 were more than Aikman ever passed for in a season. Some disregard Aikman due to his numbers but being a great team is designing an offense that's efficient. The Cowboys won SB's in the 90's by running the football and playing solid defense which has been the formula for Seattle's success.

Aikman's numbers weren't impressive despite having a future HOF WR but the Cowboys consistently won. Some of the most prolific passers the NFL has ever seen didn't have much championship success because their teams rode their arms and it caught up with them on the biggest stage. As long as the Cowboys can run the ball Romo's passing yards will never be what they once were especially if the Cowboys can build a solid defense. The Cowboys are trying to follow the same blueprint as Seattle by running the ball and having Romo manage games. Romo had the most efficient season of his career in 2014 that had him in the running for league MVP. In 2 playoff games he didn't have one single turnover which helped the Cowboys beat Detroit and come close to beating Green Bay. After 3 seasons Wilson has a higher career passer rating than Romo his efficiency has helped make Seattle a great team. Mistakes can kill you and a big mistake is what did Seattle in this season. It's not about the numbers winning championships is about playing smart and not making mistakes. It's mistakes at the worst possible time that have marred Romo's career. It was a mistake at the worst possible time that cost Seattle their second championship.

I will always credit TEAM in winning SB 1st and foremost but Wilson is a very good QB he is a great fit for that team. As a college player in Wisconsin he again was the perfect fit a running team with a smart and athletic QB. He does not take the big hits from defenders, he has a good arm and as I mentioned puts pressure on a defense once he is outside of the pocket and is not careless with the ball. How would he fair in an offense that required him throwing it 500 or more times a season where the weight of the offense rested on him? I don't know my guess would be he would not do very well. As for Romo I think given the teams he was on his play gave us a chance his TD to int ratio was very good but the team as a whole in most season were not good enough to contend for a SB and was a struggle just to make the post season. To me these are 2 very different QB with different skill sets.

I will always maintain SB are won by teams not QB's and while QB is a critical position it takes a lot of guys stepping up playing quality ball for this to happen. As coaches say QB get too much credit for wins and too much blame for loses because I think one thing all coaches know this is a team game and the QB only controls so much. He has no part in defense, he can't block for himself and he can't make the catches.

Too many teams want their QB to win games and SB's which is why a lot of these teams end up losing championships despite having great prolific passers. Peyton Manning has lost more playoff games and SB's than he's won because he's asked to win games. He set all kinds of passing records in 2013 and Denver ended up being blown out by 35 points in the SB to a defensive team. The 3 all-time leading passers are Favre, Manning and Marino and they've only combined for 2 championships. Seattle has designed an offense that compliments Wilson's skill set allowing him to play within himself while he continues to develop as a QB. They don't ask him to win games just play smart and manage them. I've never seen a FAN base attempt to tear down the games of good/great QB's the way some Cowboy FANS do. They've taken shots at Aaron Rodgers game it really makes you shake your head what FANS post on this board.

Their posts reflect frustration over Romo's lack of playoff success and that he hasn't won a championship. If any of these great QB's who've won championships screw up in a big game you can bet the farm some FAN will start a thread tearing their game down and several will join in with a few claiming Romo is the better QB. The QB's who go down as the best are usually the ones with the most championships with a few exceptions. Some are saying Brady is the greatest ever due to his 4 SB wins and record 6 SB appearances. The argument can certainly be made based off the fact he's won championships with completely different teams over a 14 year starting career. His personnel has changed completely from his first SB win in 2001 to his last one on Sunday. He's been successful with different OL's and receivers but that doesn't stop a few delusional FANS from tearing his game down when he screws up claiming NE would win more championships with Romo. lol

I have great respect for Brady and Rodgers I also have great respect for the organization, these teams are not depleted of talent and yes they are very good QB but again QB is not going to win anything by themselves on the other hand a team can have some weakness and make it to the SB but when the weakness of a team is the QB that team will lose. Romo is an excellent QB I don't feel the need to compare him with anyone, he has helped this team be very competitive he has taken some criticism at times that has not been fair but he accepts it knowing this is Dallas.
I'm grateful Dallas has a QB of the caliber of Tony Romo

No, QB's don't win anything by themselves but when their teams win championships they receive most of the credit. It was the Cowboys 3 SB wins in the 90's that got Troy Aikman in the HOF. For Romo to receive the respect and glory many here feel he deserves he's going to have to win a ring. The Ravens are the only team that ever won a SB with the weakness of their team being their QB.

Yes they do receive most of the credit that does it make it right because some feel the QB should get most of the credit or most of the blame.

A few teams with relative weakness at QB SB winners.....

Baltimore (Trent Dilfer)
Bucs (Brad Johnson)
Giants (Jeff Hostetler)
Chicago (Jim McMahon)

Giants (Eli twice)...just kidding..can't help it
I would say Doug Williams, but he did have a good game in the SB

Each of those teams defenses got on a huge roll in the playoffs and all but Eli's Giants (who I was mostly kidding on anyway) had historically dominant defenses.

I think there are weakness with Eli and that is no joke. The guy has been an int machine, he is not elite SB ring or not, Elite QB do not bounce as high and low as he has. He will put together a very good season and turn right around and look like crap. Being elite is not a 1 year deal it is a consistent in their own individual play.

Their play influences the outcome of games more than any other player which is why they receive so much of the blame and so much of the glory.

Poor play does, there is no doubt the poor play of a QB will get you beat but we have also seen the aka bus driver the QB who is able to avoid mistakes but is not the overall key to the teams success. SB has many who played and won it who are not HOF QB.

As for Wilson despite being a game manager he's been a big part of Seattle's success. Lynch arrived in Seattle 2 years before the Seahawks won their first championship and they remained average until Wilson arrived. It all started coming together for Seattle when Wilson took over at QB. They went from just another team to a great team because he's been the most efficient QB in the history of that franchise. he doesn't suffer the amount of turnovers most young QB's suffer which helps keep his defense off the field and not have to defend short fields.

I'm not so much calling Wilson a bus driver I think he is a very good QB I don't base on the SB I base it on watching him playing the game and the skills he shows. Does he have certain things that hurt him? Yes from the pocket at this point in his career he struggles but once he is outside he makes things happen be it with his feet or arm. The Seahawks and Wilson success does not make me think Romo is not as good or better than Wilson. If all you want to do is base a QB on a team accomplishment then be my guest but I don't. There is no way in hell Brad Johnson is better than Dan Fouts or Dan Marino. SB is and will always be a team accomplishment not who is the best QB in the NFL

If you attribute team success to the QB and do not look at the big picture you will have built an NFL world where Eli Manning is as good as Roger Staubach, Dilfer better than Dan Marino, Flacco as good as Brees, Wilson better than Aaron Rodgers and the insanity could go on and on.

As far as Wilson goes, I do like the guy but I cannot put him in a class above Romo. Does anyone really believe Romo could have thrown 4 INTs in a playoff game and still won??? Does anyone really believe that Wilson would have had two Super Bowl appearances and within 1 play of two Super Bowl wins had he been a Cowboy???

What I do give him credit for is taking the hand he was dealt (pretty good hand) and making it work. That does not make him better than Romo...forget that, he is not better than Manning, Rodgers, or Brees but his Super Bowl record is equal to or better than theirs.

I'm not saying Wilson is better than Romo or that the Seahawks success makes him better but if he continues having playoff success and wins another SB while Romo continues to do his best work during the regular season Wilson will go down as the better QB. Unless it's Marino or Fouts setting NFL passing records playoff wins and SB's define most QB's careers. The mistake Wilson made in the SB isn't going to define his career because he's been very successful and has won a championship. Rome's career has been defined by the bobbled snap in Seattle and a few other critical mistakes because he hasn't had a lot of playoff success or a championship on his resume. The only way Romo will ever overcome the bobbled snap and some of his other big mistakes is to win a ring.

QB's receive a pass for a few mistakes even some big mistakes when they've been very successful in the postseason and own a championship. Brad Johnson had one bright season guiding the Bucs to a SB but he'll always be known as an average QB. QB's like Johnson, Dilfer, Mark Rypien and Jim McMahon will never be thought of in the same light as Fouts and Marino because they were consistently great year after despite not winning a championship. I think we've discussed this topic enough.

One word: defense

That 1-8 includes Tate and Harvin to a degree. It also included that guy who messed up his hip, can't remember his name.

And seriously, now we are talking about Aikman?

That 1-8 is due to being a run oriented team that has an average receiving corp which is why they don't win many high scoring games. How many times do I have to repeat that? Don't avoid the question on Aikman answer it! Wilson is a more productive passer than Troy Aikman. In 3 seasons Wilson has had 2 seasons where he passed for more yards than Aikman did in his entire 12 year career. Aikman never surpassed 23 TD passes in a season and Wilson had 26 TD's his first 2 seasons. Aikman had a career 81.6 passer rating and Wilson currently has a 98.6 career passer rating. Aikman only tossed 31 TD's his first 3 seasons compared to 72 TD's for Wilson in his first 3 seasons. Aikman's numbers were low even by the standards that were in place during the 90's. A lot of Aikman's peers outproduced him which caused many to think he wasn't that great a QB.

I'm certainly not saying Wilson is a better QB than Troy Aikman was just pointing out it's not all about high passing yards that make a QB good. You're not impressed with Wilson because he doesn't put up 4500 yards and 38 TD's. He's a lot more productive QB than some give him credit for when you combine his passing and rushing totals. He's a duel threat QB who makes a lot of plays by staying alive with his mobility/escapability. Wilson has been one of the most efficient QB's in the league the past 3 seasons which is a big reason Seattle has been so successful with him at QB. No team is going to reach back to back SB's with a weak link at QB.
