I'm not dismissing his up and down performances, his ball security or his maturity level. They all need to improve. But I am willing to give him two things. Time and the benefit of the doubt.

Honestly, would you bet $5,000 on the over at 96 on number of games before Tony wins his first playoff game?

Not me.

me neither.

and there is a chance we get to go to chicago. And if we go to chicago we may pitch a shutout. They really can not threaten a defense in any way, especially on that surface and in that cold.

I am so hoping we get a chance to go to chicago.

I'd rather go to minnesota. our finesse offense won't last in Chicago especially with that bum as our OC.

i'm licking my chops if we go to chicago. that offense cant do squatt! the way our d has been playing, even when it only plays for 3.5 quarters out of the 4, i think we have a chance to beat them.

wuts the scenario for us to go to chi?

-dallas win
-bears win
-tb loss
-minny loss?

right?

interesting that you would rather go to chicago. I obviously understand why you like that scenario - but I am finding it hard to argue against going to Minnesota. Our team doesnt usually play well ( at least the offense ) in poor conditions.

tampa has nothing to do with it. We win and they are done. If the bears win and the vikes lose then we are going to chicago.

You'd rather play a team who is hot, with a phenomenal running game, in Minnesota rather than a completely inept football team, in Chicago?

And I agree with the OP. The least Romo deserves is the benefit of the doubt. All that requires is a little bit of common sense.

that pittsburgh game and the washington game in the wind were the perfect setup for a playoff game in chicago.

Minnesota is a much better team with an offensive line and a pair of running backs that can beat us on any day.

The bears have a good defense. They wont run the ball that well on us and they will never move the ball on a cold day in the air on us.

that could be the perfect setup to get the monkey off our backs, just like it was in 1991 in the snow when bill bates picked off jim harbaugh and ended the playoff drought.

I'd rather play in a dome against a 1 dimensional offense and a 1 dimensional defense than going to Chicago and playing in freezing weather against a team that can play good ball in bad weather.

it looks like it will depend on the giants. It appears that coughlin is going to play his starters - but that does not mean much. If the giants truely are playing to win this game, they will and we will be headed to chicago. If the giants do not really care - we will be headed to minny. This is with the assumption that we win of course.

they really cant though. The packers defense has been terrible all year and they made the bears offense look like the jv tonight.

I am not sure the bears can beat houston, but if they do I would be thrilled with a chance to go there.

Now if its the fog bowl, that is not good or if it is -20 with the wind chill and the ball and the field are frozen that is different too.

but after playing the defenses and under the pressure we have been under, if we get in and go to chicago we will blow them out.

I'd rather have Chicago. But we're talking about Minny with TJack, who can still barely read half the field. And without Pat Williams still? Or will he be back for the playoffs?

GREAT POST. Tony may not do it this season, but it wont take 96 games.

That said, I wouldnt bet the mortgage payment even with the line, on Dallas this sunday.
