Again put his carreer numbers against all the considered elite today and get back to me.

And you would be wrong about Tony's streak - See below! 13 tds during that streak!

"I don't have it handy, but I think Dak could pass Romo this week with about 20 attempts.

Not sure, will have to look it up

I think the Cowboys marks are

    1. Aikman 228 (7 TDs?)
    2. Aikman 184 (? TDs)
    3. Romo 174 (13 TDs)
    4. Prescott 155 (4 TDs)

I think the NFL records are between Rodgers and Brady for pick-less streaks."

And over time Romo has gotten an Oline! If you have forgotten what he inherited as an Oline you need to refresh your memory!

He had this line in 2015 and was awful before his injury -- as the article pointed out, his Int ratio was through the roof.

Romo against Green Bay in 2014. Made a huge mistake before half time by fumbling the ball, then just flinging the ball up in the air which could have been intercepted. Instead of getting the first down, stopping the clock, and having a true chance at a TD or a field goal. We ended up missing that field goal.

4th Qtr, we're down something like 6. 4th down and like a yard or 2. Instead of Romo getting the first down and continuing the drive, he instead goes for the home run to Dez Bryant, a low percentage play with your season on the line. What happens? It's a drop and we lose. If he had caught the ball, it was a TD. Then Green Bay gets the ball back with like 4:36 on the clock, what do you think happens? It would have been easier to make the first with Beasley coming open across the middle and wind the clock down before you score. So there are two scores he leaves on the field.A possibility of 10 points that win you the game.

I'm not going to say anything bad about Tony Romo out of respect for the good Tony homers on the site, but I'll just say I've seen 10 years, I'm ready for Dak Prescott to give it a try.

Do not act like Romo hasn't had a great team around him in the past, don't go there. The year he had a Ware and Ellis, TO and Glenn, Barber and Jones, give me a break. He had Flozell and company, it wasn't nearly the line we've had, but what team has had this type of line and won the Super Bowl. Zero teams.

Teams win the Super Bowl with smart and good QB play. In the regular season, Romo was impressive. But in the playoffs, he's been below average as a WINNER. A winner is a guy that doesn't make bone head mistakes. Again, 10 years, 13 in the league, now battered, his time is over.

Wentz had zero fumbles and zero picks.

On top of that Wentz was negatively impacted by the loss of Lane at RT...

I bring it up because I know what this is all about. The guy is not only a 4th round rookie, have you forgotten that? The guy was missing his best receiver, have you forgotten that? The guy was playing in Lambeau field, have you forgotten that? And for those reasons, he was darn good under those circumstances.

Was it a perfect game? No. Was it a Super Bowl winning QB type of game, yes. A guy that messes up, but continues to show maturity and the ability to overcome those mistakes, this is what you want in a QB. If you are expecting PERFECT QBing, maybe call God.

Romo is or was a good to very-good QB. He was never great.

Would it crush me to see him get the starter's job back?

No, but it won't crush me if he doesn't either.

Exactly. Romo has been a great Cowboy but never a great QB.

I would imagine their grade takes into account his interception and 2 fumbles (1 lost).

It is why people always say stats dont tell the whole story.

I thought he played a pretty good game, he had a few issues with his accuracy but a few of those looked more like expecting Witten to do one thing while he did something else. Just part of chemistry that develops with time.

I can't wait until Romo is starting so people can shut the hell up. "Romo was never great" - That's enough to put someone on ignore, that's being intentionally ignorant and it is downright embarrassing.

Just the fact that someone wrote that out, thought about it, and then hit "post reply" and thought it was somewhat rational is shameful.

Wentz also didn't throw a TD, had under 175 yards passing, and only completed 50% of his passes. And why should Lane be factored in but not Dez?

Curious to know who called the last play. It was a killer.

This is the perfect response, because the Romo lovers think he's a Super Bowl winning QB that we're trying to replace. If this were Montana, I'd be on his side. If this were even Favre, I'd probably think twice about moving forward. But it's not like we've ever won anything important with Tony.

I don't know how in the world Tony became immortal. What exactly has he done to put us in the Super Bowl that makes this guy untouchable? And this question is not for you Michael, I'm asking this to the board. He's given us 10 years of up and down QBing, mostly down. He's given this franchise a glimpse of hope, that is all. I want my QB in the playoffs every year, every other year. I want to compete for Super Bowls every to every other year. This is what I want in a QB and he's never been that guy.

Listen, I love Romo as much as anyone else, but define "great." Over his career, do you think he's been consistently a top 3 QB in the league?

I'm sure he had options, but you can't tell me that Dak wouldn't have tried to hit Beasley coming across the middle for the first.

The final score was 30-16. Did you not like how we got there? You're not a Cowboys fans, you're a Romo lover. I'm guessing when Romo retires or goes to Cleveland, you'll follow?

I'm guessing you didn't look at the turnovers and the score at the time. The defense won this game, Dak nearly lost it. I'll wait for you to look at the turnovers and the scores.

I think Romo has been consistently a top 5-7 QB in the league, and that's worthy of calling a player "great". I'm not into this business of tearing Romo down just to prop up Prescott. That shouldn't be needed.

Romo, like Rivers, is a great QB. I would say every coach and HOF QB would come out and say the same thing, actually both Aikman and Staubach have said it numerous times. To me, the debate on that ended in 2014 when he should have won MVP.

Yes, he was "Great" and if the coaches believe we can get 2014 production from him again, you start him. If not, I would say I'm a little more comfortable starting Prescott since he started taking shots down the field and that may have given him some confidence in that area. But I start Romo, if it seems his arm strength has taken a huge plunge I'd bench him. I'm not worried about Romo's accuracy or the mental aspect of his game, he'll be fine even if he needs to shake off a little rust. But that's why this 5-1 was important, it leaves some room for error.

I know how to separate performances from the team result, so yes I'll take that performance and hope that the rest of my team doesn't totally fail like happened in that game.
