PFT.com: Irvin in over Monk sends bad message

Just to echo what other posters have said. Art Monk does deserve to be in but for some reason the voters don't think so. They haven't thought so for years so do not make Michael Irvin getting in as the reason Monk didn't.

That is simply not the case.

FYI, Art Monk made a touchdown almost every 14 catches (13.8), Irvin caught a touchdown every 11 catches.

You've got it wrong pal.
Dominant 3 time SB Champ All 90's team 5 time Pro Bowler coke addict over good, not dominant, not spectacular and at times not even the best receiver on his team class act.

Get it straight.

and yet monk was durable enough to play through 16 seasons.

Its just amazing how someone who retires as the #1 reciever of all time gets snubbed to get in for so many year.

So did PFT say the same thing about LAWRENCE TAYLOR when he was inducted? I DOUBT IT.

IF VINNY T had played long enough he would have had most of the passing records. That kind of shoots down the numbers BS.

not dominant? Obviously you dont know much. You see, monk wasnt a flashy player. He didnt need to get out there and showboat and run his mouth on the field. He got the job done. When the team needed first downs, he picked them up. To say he he wasnt dominant because he didnt catch as many TD's is just a stupid, unintelligent comment. Monk did what needed to without ever complaining. You think maybe the teams philosophy had something to do with him not getting the ball as much?

Any "journalist" that calls a subject a turd is pretty dubious in their credibility.

But of course he won't take this into opinion.

Riddle me this:
Monk retired after the 1995 season with 940 career receptions.
Jerry Rice finished the 1995 season with 942 career receptions.

When Monk retired he was NOT the all time leader in receptions.

Not to mention irvin played with the nfls all time leading rusher who Took quite a few opportunities to score away from irvin down in the red zone.

they both should be in. Being a syracuse fan I like monk. He was a great player.

I love how these skin trolls completely ignored BigDFan5's post .....
