Former USC wide receiver George Farmer went undrafted last week, but he made out OK anyway. Farmer is signing with the Cowboys and will get $55,000 guaranteed, according to Field Yates of ESPN. That’s a very rare, and very hefty, guarantee for an undrafted rookie. Presumably, the Cowboys had to guarantee Farmer that much money…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2327613&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

Wonder what happened at USC then if he was a top recruit coming out of HS, but yet still covets a $55K guaranteed bonus.
Was he injured that set him, stuck behind better players, issues, rather off the field or academic? Or just didn't work out at the time.
I hope they hit on a good one. PR & KR and ST's, then develop into a good WR.

Obviously, he had options. Much like Leary.

Imagine what La'el Collins will get if he's cleared.

Soo that means this guy is good and they really like him or Cowboys like tossing $$ around like they're in the club.

I think he is good. I recall watching some USC games and he kind of stood out. I think UFA WRs Farmer and Goodley have a good chance to make the camp cuts difficult. I'm looking foirward to watching these two in camp. Recently, the WR battles in camp have been pretty good.

It would be hilarious if, after all is said and done, that Farmer has a better career here than his teammate who was drafted by the Eagles with their 1st round pick.:)

I think the Cowboys have figured out that it's not that big of an issue if they miss on guarantees like this one or even the 200K+ that they gave Leary. In the big picture of the Salary cap it's not much money.

If you were to review his game against Notre Dame this year, he looked like a third rounder with a good amount of upside. The rest of his career, he didn't show up. Granted, he played behind some very good WRs like Robert Woods, Marquise Lee and Nelson Agholor, and had to compete with another 5 star guy in Kyle Prater (who transferred to Northwestern), but due to injuries and inconsistency, he didn't stand out. He definitely has the talent.

Between Farmer and Deontay Greenberry, there are a couple of UDFA WRs that could press for a spot on the team.

I like the pick up... kid as a ton of potential but maybe he got lost in the shuffle at USC with coaching changes and all...

just my .02 cents

He is just a prospect at this point in time who has a injury history, was top recruit out of HS and then ACL and some other injuries, he was as good as the other wr's on the team and not even close in the speed range he had jets to spare. Has similar build to Dez and looks like workout warrior. Father was former WR NFL.
