The Cowboys need to be 100% focused on getting Collins in here.

Take it for what its worth. Seeing the high guarantee they gave him, I don't think its a stretch to think he was highly regarded. There's probably a better than fair chance a roster spotis his to lose.

Sure, if he proves it on the field.

They obviously didn't have him as highly rated at the German LB!

I think it's more likely they had a 6th round grade on him rather than as the #6 overall WR.

Does this affect how much they can offer Lael Collins?

The same handle on twitter said they remove WRs completely who they don't fit the scheme or what they're looking for. I think its possible they only had a dozen or so WRs on the board which would explain it.

They probably didn't think he would be drafted so let him reach udfa status. People act as if the Cowboys don't understand value and just pick players according to the board even though every other team would have passed multiple rounds, thus they must have reached. I'm inclined to believe they have more insight on other teams boards than people realize. People said Frederick was a massive reach, yet we later found out the Ravens were ready to pick him next. Hitchens was said to be a reach, yet Seattle(I'm pretty sure it was Seattle anyways) was ready to take him at their pick.

Dez Bryant
Terrance Williams
Cole Beasley
Devin Street
-------------------------
with everyone else fighting for 1 maybe 2 spots:

George Farmer
Antwan Goodley
Deontay Greenbury
Chris Boyd
Nick Harwell
Lucky Whitehead
Reggie Dunn
Street's roster spot is far from a lock.

They remove players off their board. In 2013 the leaked board didn't have Keenan Allen. So it's possible they removed a bunch off the list.

Soo that means this guy is good and they really like him or Cowboys like tossing $$ around like they're in the club.

He can fly
He's also 6'1 and 220...19 reps too.
Definitely a top end athlete.

Farmer was a 5-star recruit out of Serra HS. He was widely considered the top prospect on a Serra team that also had Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, and Paul Richardson. Farmer also finished second in the California state finals with a 10.40 in the 100. His dad played with the Rams.

As far as what happened at USC, it was some politics and bad breaks. Kiffin kept changing him from WR to RB and back. I get what Kiffin was doing, Farmer is crazy fast and he had Robert Woods and Marqise Lee putting up great numbers at WR. Still, George has never played RB. He turned his ankle late in the season and missed the rest of the season. He was still behind Woods and Lee the next year and got hurt again.

He was having a great spring before 2013 but then jacked up his left knee and missed the whole season. As for last year, I felt he looked like the 5-star prospect he was supposed to be, when given the chance. He looked explosive and showed to have difference making speed. The problem at USC is we are littered with talented WR's. Nelson Agholar was rightfully so the #1 target. Another former highly recruited WR Darreus Rogers had bulked up and was supposed to be the possession guy. Sarkissian also wanted to get his 5-star recruits, JuJu Smith and Adoree Jackson, touches as well. When it all played out, Agholar and JuJu were the main guys with George being the 3rd guy.

Supposedly, George Sr. was not happy with Sarkissian and felt Farmer would get pushed aside in 2015 for players Sarkissian recruited. As a Trojan fan, I really wanted to see Farmer back. As a Cowboy fan, I'm thrilled to see him here.

Thanks, Chris. Your write-up was extremely informative and helpful. :)

Well, look at the bright side for Jerry Jones. We can pick up a fast receiver via free agency and get nab a sponsor all in one.

Imagine the kid catches a touchdown and the loud speaker plays: "We are Farmers bah, ba, dump, dump, dump, dump dump!"

:)
