That's fine, if regular season is your goal. We haven't been a super bowl contender. Just a regular season contender. I don't put all the blame on him, our front office fails to support him. Dak isn't good enough to overcome a build through the draft operating procedure.

Dak is the quarterback and is making the big bucks. The whole team looked out of sorts and was looking for Dak to take care of things. He failed we lost. That is the quarterback position in a nutshell.

Lance is about to get screwed again. The kid needs reps and the only reps he will get will be in the preseason with 4th/5th stringers. Lance only chance will be if Dak gets injured. I wish the NFL would let these kids play in like the USFL or something.

Since Dak signed that contract extension the Cowboys have been among the best teams in football and have not missed the playoffs. Statistically he is among the top 3 quarterbacks and capped off last season as the runner up for the MVP and 2nd team All-Pro. Let’s look at the quarterbacks making at least 40 million or more. Mahomes, great, Allen, Dak level, Jones, garbage, Murray garbage, Cousins, not Dak level, Watson garbage and of course Wilson hot garbage. Dak has more then lived up to his contract on and off the field.

He's a good QB, that's got one insurmountable failing, in that he bottles it under pressure. Those 12-5 years were built around beating up poor teams ....and then failing in the dying minutes v SF (x2) and GB.
He's a good QB, who has been supported in the last 3 years, because the FO kicked the CAP can, to provide him with the necessary talent to succeed...but he failed.
Now if he went back to his Rookie deal, with the All-Pro O-Line and rushing champ at RB, great, but he's getting paid big money.....for that he should take the relevant responsibility, rather than absolve it to those on the roster that are being paid a fraction of what he gets.

The guy isn’t worth the money. The contract situation is much scarier with him than it will be without him. We can just continue to not win a dam thing exactly like they’ve been doing!

Trade for what?

I mean....I could see a team that feels it's ready to win right now (kinda like Atlanta was) willing to give a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder for him and his contract....but those teams are few and far between.

Denver/Sean Peyton wants to draft "their guy".

Maybe New England wants to get Marvin Harrison Jr, and would be willing to trade a 2 or 3 for Dak. But that's probably a stretch.

Maybe the Giants want to get Joe Alt or the LSU WR, and would be willing to trade a 2 or 3 for Dak. Big Maybe though.

Oakland Maybe. Minnesota Maybe (but they've been dealing with Dak Cousins for the last few years so they may have Dak fatigue just like we do).

In reality, there's just not too many teams he'd be a great fit for, as no rebuilding team would want to part with draft capital to acquire a soon to be 31 year old perennial playoff failing QB with super high contract. Just wouldn't help them in the long run.

I think we're stuck with him.

The only way Dak will leave on his terms is if France makes a deal were the other team steals him for next to nothing.

Nobody is giving two 2nds. They'd be extremely fortunate to get one 2nd.

Sad that a fan like you only thinks Mahomes or Brady is a great quarterback. You will be waiting another 30 years before the Cowboys get one of those.

Dak has kept them just good enough to keep the sheep and cattle handing over their money. Why risk being bad, when being slightly above average gets you maximum revenue?

If they can pull off a draft day trade for Dak, I will cry tears of joy. It is most likely the best possible path forward if they can manage it.

Dare I say that Washington is a team that could be interested? The history with DQ + them really being a QB away from really making some noise makes me think that they would do it. Not to mention that back in 2019 word on the street was that they were interested in him if he managed to get to FA.

It's possible Wash would offer a 3rd or something, to be a 2 year bridge gap until when Maye or Daniels is ready to take over.

I think NY might be an even better fit. I could more easily see them giving up a 3rd or something similar
