Dunno if this has been brought up, but isn't that tampering?

Should not have gone any farther then that but someone was killed in an incident on the same day and he got reeled in. Nothing else has ever happened to him so thats not a problem. He has been a VERY good guard and the only reason he has not made the probowl is that some have bigger reputations- not that they are better guards.

Our sources in Indy tell us that two of the top offensive linemen in free agency might already have deals in place with new teams.
If their agents are to be believed.
Per the source, the agents for Bengals lineman Eric Steinbach and Chargers lineman Kris Dielman are telling people that they plan to sign contracts worth $7 million per year on March 2, or shortly thereafter.
The three teams who were thought to be most interested in either of these two guys are the Texans, Browns, and Cowboys.
Though it wouldn't be much of a surprise to learn that contracts have been verbally negotiated before the start of free agency (since it happens every single year), the other possibility is that the agents are puffing as to either or both of these players, in the hopes that someone else will offer as much or more.
Either way, make no mistake about it -- free agency officially begins in six days; unofficially, it's already started.

HOW DID KYLE KOSIER FINISH 10TH?
Kosier's strong suit was his run blocking. They finished 2nd in yards up the middle/guard + at left tackle. And they ran the ball in those directions 64% of the time which was the league average.
However, Kosier finished 30th in yards lost ratio. He was actually doing okay at the halfway point of the season, but gave up 57 yards in the last 8 games of the season, which is a ton for a guard. He did give up 5 sacks, but also had 39 yards in penalties. The sacks are a bit more of a concern because the penalties aren't too high of a number and can always be due to poor calls or perhaps a personal foul penalty that has little to do with actual blocking skills.
HOW DID LARRY ALLEN FINISH 16TH?
Allen was 27th in yards lost ratio and was 16th in run yards (4.35) and they ran in his responsibilities 70% of the time which was a high amount of the time. Considering he also had Frank Gore in the backfield helping him out and he was surrounded by Eric Heitmann and Jonas Jennings, both of whom had good seasons, not only was Kosier a cheaper alternative, but a better alternative at left guard.
HOW DID ALAN FANECA FINISH 23RD?
His run blocking uncharacteristically hurt him. He was 15th in yards lost ratio, which is acceptable. But he was 20th in running yards his direction (4.25) and the Steelers ran his way a lower amount of the time at 61%.

Erik_H;1390199 said:Hey no prob at all. There's plenty of reason for confusion between PFT and PFW, but it's usually PFT (Florio) who does the outlandish and completely unsubstaniated stuff.
....and least I think so.

NFL Network is your answer.AsthmaField;1390843 said:I really hated that he passed away and left us stuck with Mel Kiper.
D. Dockery at #20. And here I was sticking up for him in another thread...burmafrd;1390893 said:Whitworth was playing part of the time and he is not good. That dragged their ranking down. Also having LT as your RB really helps YOUR stats as well. Cinci did not have anything close. Also- lets be honest: Steinbach and company were playing teams with much better D lines most of the year then we did.
I don't know how the rankings are calculated, but I'll take Steinbach over Diehlman anyday.speedkilz88;1390564 said:Here's Yakuza Rich's rankings of LGs where he went by sack percentages and run yardage avg(I think). Steinbach is the bigger name being a former high second round pick while Diehlman is a former FA. Steinbach (age 27 in March), Diehlman(just turned 26 in early Feb)
*Diehlman probably gets a boost from Ladainian Thomlinson running behind him.

He was a good guy (from what I could tell) and lived and breathed pro football.
His draft guide was always right next to me on draft day.
