He's was asked the question by the media in the locker room. His actual answer was he knows the record and doesn't care as long as they win ball games. So please. Stop.

And you dont see the difference why someone would have a different answer in private with Dickerson as opposed to in the locker room in front of national media?

I know he's talented and we want to run the ball this year.

Dunno about 1,800 yards though. I still believe Morris will have a decent role this year.

In a few years, I definitely see 1800 yards+.

If you think they took Zeke with the 4th pick to employ a RB by committee approach then you are sorely mistaken. And you could just look at what they did the last two years with the backs. One guy got most of the work.

Both Elliot & Dickerson have used the words 'joke' and 'joking' while talking about this.

I would suggest you do the same.

Eric Dickerson also set a record for biggest paycut going from college to the NFL.
At the time he went, most likely. I think USC and OSU (and probably most big programs) have well eclipsed what SMU did.

Reminder.
The Rams were with Chuck Knox back then - Ground Chuck.

Their offense revolved around running the ball.
John Robinson was coach. He had a great O Line and trash at QB.

lol. Well, thats a lofty goal. I am delighted if Elliott sets his goals high. Good for the Team. Eric was one of my favourites. Perfect blend of Power and Grace. Extraordinary talent. One of a kind. Go Elliott.

Don't think it'll be a 50-50 split. Wouldn't shock me if it was a 80-20 or 70-30 split though.

Especially if we were to have a solid lead late in the game. Morris could be the closer back. Fresh Morris in the 4th? should be an easy way to gain first after first.

One guy got most of the work last year because Randle was the only option early on when McFadden was coming back from injury. We only ran McFadden cause he was far and away the best back.
Same thing in 2014. Other than his fumble issues early on, Murray was a top 5 back. And his backup was the knucklehead 6th round rookie in Randle.

Morris is far and away a better backup back than Michael/Turbin/Randle ever were.

I could see 25-30 carries Zeke with 10 carries for Morris. Unless as you mentioned we were way up and mop up duty. If the game is close I see no way they take Zeke out late.

Zeke Elliott said he was joking. I have no cause to think otherwise, although it conceivably might have been a Freudian slip. Perhaps he fails to realize, though, that such things are sometimes taken as bragging, rather than being merely a joke. He's young, he'll learn.

No problem with a player setting a goal. Don't think he will get it because I don't think he will get enough carries but like the confidence

I prefer an inner, quiet confidence without the flapping of gums. Just break the record without the yapping.

Like Jimmy saying put it in 3 inch letters? People want swagger then they don't want swagger.

I for one am for let elliott be elliott he thrives on challenges and believes he is a key cog for his team. He comes comes to play ! he has an edge and attitude we have been missing. Good for him bring it EE ! keep that confidence just always remember keep it in perspective. I am really excited to see this team this year sunday cannot come fast enough

Go watch his interview yesterday when he said it. He couldn't have been more humble about it.

This is the media taking a small clip of what was said and creating a headline.
What!?!

No way..............

Is he does break it we are on our way to the playoffs folks!!

If you think about it... Breaking the rookie rushing record couldn't be more unselfish. That would be great for everyone if he did that.

Dak should say he is trying to break records too. They all should.

Cant stand this country club "score and hand the ball to the refs" aura so many in this fanbase want for these players. Idc if Zeke was joking or not, i'm all for it, rumble young man rumble.

The 90's Cowboys were built on being vocally confident. They were showmen. Now you get criticized for it.

I hate all of the dancing that goes on after a play... Especially a defensive play when our defense is terrible.. Being vocal and confident has never really bother me. Put it in 3 inch headlines baby.

The 90's Cowboys set team goals, winning Super Bowls, not personal title's..

Emmitt had set a goal his rookie year to become the all time leading rusher. I get it some have issue with it but Zeke is who he is, he talks and thus far has backed it up with his play. I don't want guys acting like someone else be yourself and go out and do the job. Fans are the one who do a lot of lip smacking yet do not play the game yet want to dictate to the players.
