Should have just been a Bills fan the last 30 years.

Just more proof of why teams like Buffalo, Washington, Detroit, are passing us.

The perennial laughing stocks of the NFL for decades are now looking down at Dallas. The future is bright fans!

In other words, Jerry saw enough of Lance in the pre-season. :omg:

"Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy regrets not giving Trey Lance some reps late in Monday night’s 34-10 loss to the Texans. But owner Jerry Jones has no desire to see Lance start a game for the Cowboys.

“I don’t know about that,” Jones said of Lance potentially starting. “I want to give our team the very best chance it can — in all phases — to be successful. So, we’re going to go here with the quarterback that gives us the best chance to win the game.”

Why is this even his call?!? Why?!?

So what was the point of trading a fourth round pick for him? This season is over and you're not even giving him a shot?

Jerry thinks he has more football knowledge than any owner, GM or coach in the league and fulfills every role on our team.

In reality he would be in last place on every ffl in the country.

He proves week after week that he has the least football knowledge than any other person currently employed in the NFL.

I think if Dak hadn’t been extended we might have seen Lance. But now if we play him it’s a no win for Jerry. If he’s terrible the trade looks bad, and if he plays well he just goes somewhere else to potentially start.
If I thought Jerry was competent that would be a logical assumption, but it IS Jerry.

This is the problem with this team. The owner or GM should NOT be telling the media who's going to start, play, sit, etc. That is your coaches responsibility. I don't know why any self respecting coach would want to work for Jerry. He undermines his coach. The coach should also be able to pick his own staff.
Cowboys will have no real chance at a future as long as Jerry Jones is charge of the team. He'd rather the Cowboys go another 20 years without even reaching the NFCCG by him and his son running things their way. Than either sell the team or step back as GM and put his ego to the side. So that an actual competent GM and the right coach can get the Cowboys back to a Super Bowl winning franchise.

This trade for Trey Lance like everything Jerry does was all about his ego and need for validation. As he wanted to be labeled as a genius owner with the hopes of having Trey Lance suddenly be able to flip a switch and become an elite level QB who lived up to his draft status. But because that didn't happen, Jerry's ego got bruised so he is refusing to allow Lance to start. Even when the Cowboys are in the perfect situation for Lance to start at least a few games.

We literally burn a 4th for lance but won't even let him get experience and see what he has, which will give us knowledge of what we need to do in the draft. Jerry actually thinks cooper rush is going to come and lead us to a playoff spot despite getting blown out the past few games. No offense, but Cooper is great at his role, which is backup QB. When the rest of the team is firing on all cylinders, Cooper can drive the bus and wins some games. We're having him play like he's a franchise qb and have him toss the ball 50+ times a game and we're going to continue that throughout the season. Is it any surprise the team has the history of failure that it does? It's the choices of the FO, which is the most important sector of football.

They'll start him on thanksgiving and therefore sell more tickets and get more interest from fans, just wait and see.
He can't be worse than Rush and even if he is, what's the downside? to score less than the 8 points on average the've scored in their last 3 home games?

Where's the Jerry that would go through 3-4 QB's a season?
Still remember Ryan freaking Leaf starting, along with Clint Stoerner

Cooper ain't that guy. Rather see Lance go for the INT record than Cooper Jay Fiedler rush throw the ball

I think one of the big issues here is that other players around the league notice this type of stuff. It would be one thing if Cooper Rush were performing to even a marginal level, but he has failed his opportunity through two games so far. If I'm a young free agent this offseason looking for an opportunity to see the field and have other options why would I choose to go to the Cowboys? Even someone Jerry traded for cant get playing time when it's obvious the player ahead of him on the roster isnt capable.

I keep telling you guys Jerry does not want Lance to raise his value. He wants him to be cheap when he re-signs him.

Which is a very Jerry Jones thing to do.

2024 - "Trey Lance doesn't give us the best chance to win football games"
2025 - "Trey Lance is a fantastic backup quarterback and will give us a chance to win important games if necessary"

Yep it’s very stupid and he’s gonna sell it too. When people ask why they don’t draft a backup he’s gonna bring up him.

Him being voted into the HOF made him believe he knows what he is doing. That was one of the worse things that could have happened. He thinks he is above everyone.
