The collapse of the Cowboys in the wake of Tony Romo’s two broken collarbones this season has led to a lot of focus on the team’s plans for both a backup for Romo in 2016 and a succession plan for a quarterback who will turn 36 in April. Romo said earlier this month that he’s…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2377263&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

Kidding aside, I don't disagree with him. If there's no QB there at #4 that doesn't look like a sure-fire hit, then I would definitely consider another option. Same goes for the rest of the draft. If a QB's there who looks like a keeper (for the spot taken) then fine. If not then go elsewhere.

I agree
You can't miss at 4, just too important
That said I think there will be a QB worth the pick as to me there are 3 guys who are worth a top of the draft pick

I truly believe Wentz has everything you want in a Qb and certainly one you want to develop slowly.

I agree
But I suspect he will be long gone by 4
Hope he's there but I suspect he will be first QB taken

He could go that high. I suspect he will go in the bottom of the first. Having said that he will now go in the top of the first. :)

This is why I haven't been getting excited about Goff, Wentz, or Lynch. Jerry is going to draft a player that can help right now, and not someone who will sit for 2-3 years. In his mind we are always 1 player away. Who we draft this year will tell a lot about who is running the show at Valley Ranch. If we draft a QB than Stephen has his Dad's ear. If we go a different way it's clear to me Jerry is still in total control.

At this point many Cowboy fans remind me of the lonely guy at the bar at 2:00AM, when every gal looks like Beyoncé... every QB talked about is Aikman/Romo.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder is exponentially proportional to the beholder's ethanol level. I think da Vinci said that. Maybe it was Einstien. No, it was definitely Leon Spinks.

Thank god there are some reasonable people in the Fan Zone. In the Draft Zone it is Wentz or bust, with some proclaiming him to be better than Tom Brady already--not making this up.

Do we need another quarterback, maybe two? Of course. Do we have to jump at one of these overrated prospects to try and fill that need. Absolutely not.

Couldn't have said it any better.

If Romo had been completely healthy this season and we still somehow got the fourth pick, 99% of these people losing their minds over this quarterback prospects would be bashing them and saying not to do it.
