I just can't convince myself that Jerry will use a 4# pick in the draft to select a QB who will have to sit for at least
two years behind Romo. That kind of thinking is just not in Jerry's DNA. He thinks that a 1st round pick that
high in the draft must play and be a star that he can market to the fanbase. He probably will look at a WR or
DE impact player because it just makes good business sense and he wants to do everything to bring Romo
a championship. He might select a QB somewhere in the draft but, I just don't see him selecting one in the
first round. That guy, whomever he is, has to play the first year.

smokescreen. there has been enough talk of needing a qb in the draft, draft a good qb and pick up a backup, etc..... time to throw other teams off, don't need any team trying to trade up ahead of Dallas.

Two years ago he wanted JFF.

At this point many Cowboy fans remind me of the lonely guy at the bar at 2:00AM, when every gal looks like Beyoncé... every QB talked about is Aikman/Romo.

Couldn't have said it any better.

If Romo had been completely healthy this season and we still somehow got the fourth pick, 99% of these people losing their minds over this quarterback prospects would be bashing them and saying not to do it.

That is presumptuous and not my mindset when I made my post. To me, Romo is this team's Quarterback for the next 3 years and my favorite player. And I did not say Lynch or Goff, it is not "every QB". You want to think about the future and your best chance at finding a good heir at QB is with a higher pick. Wentz has all the tools and possesses the hunger and drive but he does need developing, therefore making him the ideal prospect for this team at quarterback. He is the anti-Manziel in every way and that is the type of direction that this team or really any team needs to go when looking at quarterbacks.

This is why I haven't been getting excited about Goff, Wentz, or Lynch. Jerry is going to draft a player that can help right now, and not someone who will sit for 2-3 years. In his mind we are always 1 player away. Who we draft this year will tell a lot about who is running the show at Valley Ranch. If we draft a QB than Stephen has his Dad's ear. If we go a different way it's clear to me Jerry is still in total control.

You are Jerry?

This is why this franchise will continue to suffer. No proactive thinking whatsoever. Unless this is a smoke screen.

"Better a fool remain silent than to remove all doubt" (Lincoln? Twain?)

Just be quiet and find a young QB, but Jerrah will be Jerrah, continuing to screw the franchise. A QB that is not failed/failing like RGIII or Manziel.

But the real question is, would you rather spend the 4th pick on a QB or a CB?

I don't like drafting quarterbacks either. I mean we ignore the problem long enough it'll just go away right?

unfortunately it happened with Romo. He fell right in Jerry's lap as an undrafted FA.

No matter who they draft at 4, it won't put the team over the top. I hope they select their future QB and quit kicking this problem down the road.

Ive said it before.

You only draft QBs if they are Andrew Luck

If not, you take the the DE that looks like Greg Ellis incarnate or the FS that has 3 career INTs

It really is an apt comparison... just a month ago league scouts were saying they'd hate to be shopping for a QB in this draft. Now all of a sudden we have 3 guys who are potential #1 picks. 10 pm vs 2 am.

I think your right and your wrong at the same time. O dont think Jerry would take a QB 4th and sit him, but I think practically everyone else in the room would.

To me its no guarantee, but I think its a strong probably they go QB at 4
