Don't take it personal, but I can't help but laugh at anyone brave enough to defend Jerry. This was almost vomit inducing...
I don't take it personally and I am just pointing out facts about how this team has evolved over the past decade.

Honestly, Jerry has seeded a lot of the decisions to others in the organization and that's a big reason this team has been one of the best drafting in the past decade.

Also, we got our first road playoff win in 30 years and our first back to back playoffs in a long time.

This change from what we saw for the 20 years after 1995 has a lot to do with Jerry letting others do what they do best and it is ok to recognize that....it's not defending him, but rather acknowledging he did a crappy job for a long time but in his waning years he's improved and thus improved the team and its performance

Take a look at years actually making it to the playoffs...or is that considered a non-value. Every fan wishes his team to win it all.

With a 27 year window as the sole explanation does not remove the ability to win now! This is football and the games still have to be played, whether or not Dallas deserved better results by their team quality for specific years. It still is football and reasons do affect outcomes. Not just blame.
Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, Miami Dolphins. This is the company we keep. Universally considered some of the most inept nd mismanaged franchises in all of pro sports. Just unlucky I guess.

What fans like this don’t see is the fact he won’t relinquish his GM role is the very thing that’s preventing this franchise from more success.

And they even admit as such in a sense .

Most important job as owner is to hire someone and let them take credit running it. Which he’s unwilling to do.

Well, he tried once but winning back to back championships wasn’t enough. That’s really all of the evidence we need.

thats fine, and i criticize him for not relinquishing the role - but the bottom line is that the way he has run the team as the GM for the last decade has substantially improved vs the 20 years prior and that's why this team is where it is. I criticize jerry for plenty but i am not just going to hate the man bc i dont agree with his approach - i recognize what it is and give both criticism where due and credit where due.

Sorry, guy, this team is a good team and that requires no apology, ego, or insult.

That is fully sufficient....blow the whistle and start the season.

I'm not crying. I learned to not have to live on excuses when I started into the Service.

You continually imply that I am wrong as well as blind because I'm not complaining in the present. I am fully aware of all Cowboy history and have be their fan since their day one.
Which fits my critique and narrative . And you won’t answer the question deflecting more blind following.

Fans like you seem to believe diehard fans which provide criticism aren’t as loyal or avid as fans which is pure rubbish .

Occasional prodding and criticism along with providing better direction is all part of those striving for more instead of accepting status quo .

From the article:

It has been apparent since late October 2016. Dak Prescott has 100% support from Jerry Jones. He has demonstrated that form of backing since he bought the team, especially at the quarterback position.

Sports talking heads capitalize on making fodder of the topic. Fans are divided and polarized by it. The Prescott era was not the first time these circumstances have happened.

The media puts a target on the quarterback and use bazookas. Fans are belligerent towards fellow fans for cheering on the quarterback. Neither media nor fans have any say so as to what happens with the position.

One person does in the entire world. He is the obvious individual who the media treats with kid gloves. He is the bystander fans, who are dissatisfied with the position, avoid pointing fingers at and keep lobbing grenades at folks with zero control over anything.

It must be nice being Jerry Jones.
Please also include the 'fans' that are belligerent towards anyone that is critical of Dak.

Ultimately until we kick down the door it’s more of the same this entire era .

Under Parcells we were feeling as though we were headed in a better direction. And perhaps we were. But in the end our ownership still meddled and resulted in not meeting our goals.

We all see the progress McCarthy has made but again without more success in the playoffs it’s becomes more of the same .

And even if we finally cross that threshold it won’t get us back all of the years and decades which his foolishness curtailed.

And why being a Cowboys fans has become a mixed bag of feelings as we continue to root and cheer on a team which is handicapped by an egotistical 80 year old scoundrel still playing out his fantasies at our expense .

Very few fans across the league would want to deal with Jethro Jone$ as their owner.

Jethro could have been a great owner , perhaps one of the greatest in NFL history.

He certainly was on his way with Jimmy.

But winning championships wasn’t enough for him unless he was the face of his franchise front and center living out his celebrity football fantasies.

It’s a sad tale of narcissistic behavior which the greater good wasn’t the priority.

If we weren't loyal we would just walk away like the homers tell us too.

Of course Jerry wants to win a Super Bowl. He's just not very good at getting there.

Would any of those teams not trade for the Dallas success over the past two seasons? Now explain why that very success improved upon, deserves to be ignored!

Typical owner speak except with a Jerry twist. Every owner and GM will pump sunshine until the season ends at some point. The ky is getting them behind close doors and away from the microphones and see what they say off the record.

That implies ethics also...

Sure the worst most mismanaged teams ever wish they could be us. Go Cowboys!
