He's one of the few backup QB's in the league that could probably be a starter for a few teams. I feel very comfortable with him starting this week, I think he'll get rid of the ball a lot quicker than Romo does. A lot of people don't realize that Orton has a very good arm, especially on the middle-deep routes.

Only thing is he's looked bad the last two training camps/preseasons.

If we had the Orton of 4 years ago. I wouldn't be as worried. But I haven't seen him play in awhile so I'm worried. Whoever is calling plays needs to protect him. Give him some easy throws.

The ONLY reason Tebow got the nod was because the Denver fanbase was pressuring Fox into making that decision. There were billboards up in Colorado wanting Tebow to play the entire season...

Now all of those Denver fans are no where to be seen and all wear Manning jerseys.

Personally I think Orton is capable of going out and helping this team win. i think some of the same keys for him would be the same keys for Romo and that is the ability of Murray being able to produce in the ground game. To me there is no debate on who the better QB is Romo or Orton hands down it is Romo but Orton is a very capable QB and if he has to play this sunday I think we still have a decent chance of winning

He just hasn't played in awhile..........that's my concern.

I actually think he will be good for the game management problems we have had. That's his "skill", well, it seems like that's what he does...,,.,,very smart with what he can and cant do.....and managing the football game...

Give the right play calling...situation, etc etc........ I do believe we have a shot. Depending on how "rusty" he is..
Let DEZ and Murray and Witten and others, get those points.
Regardless, the defense HAS to step up.......we get behind by 14 or more......I think the game gets out of hand....and they will tee off on ole Kyle BIg Game.....

That irst qrt or so, Is going to be really interesting......

I like our chances with him than I would some young QB who lacks experiance. Nothing Philly will throw at him will come as a surprise for him, his understanding of the offense is a big plus and as far as rust he still works with the same WR and TE that Romo does, granted not as many reps in the week leading up to the game with the starters but he still knows them and works with them.

If Cassell can tear up the Eagles then that tells me we have a legit shot with Orton on Sunday. I think Philly beats us if Orton or Romo would be out there but you never know and that is why they play the game. If we get a couple of good breaks we could win the game. Orton gets 100% of my support Sunday.

Yeah, alot of Romo fans are pulling for the Eagles this weekend, just to show the value of Romo, it's kinda sad really.

Any person claiming to be a Cowboys fan and is pulling for Dallas to lose for any reason is not much of a fan. I love having Romo as the QB but the Dallas Cowboys are not a 1 man team. If Tony can't go my hope is the team rally arounds Orton and goes out and wins this game.

And this is why this team will never change Jerry wins always with fans like this ...there's a song journey sang "don't stop believing " it's for you buddy.keep drinking the kool-aid if would love to watch a game with you and see your reaction when we get blown out. Because nothing this team has shown me makes me the slight bit confident they can compete but hey I could be wrong we could win the last game against our division rivalry and go 6-0 and sweep our division ..... And I could also win mega millions

does getting benched for tim tebow rank #1 in his list of league successes? lol

So, does the fumble of the field goal against Seattle by Romo make him an outcast forever?

Sometimes the logic of some people on this board makes absolutely no sense at all.

This argument is old and frankly bears no fruit.

Yes Jerry does own the team.

However, most of the people on this board buy the products advertised, go to some games, and support this team with their dollars and cents.

That makes us stakeholders in this franchise, and one realm it buys all of us is the RIGHT to complain about the players, coaches, GM, and Owner.

Tantrums over a difference of opinion followed by a lecture along with the offer to find another team is both insulting and pedantic.

I think Jerry should go, and I watched the very first Dallas Cowboy's regular season football game from the stands of the Cotton Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

So why should I, or anyone listen to the harping of finding another team since we all pay our dues for this one?

Have you actually heard any Romo fans say they are pulling for the Eagles this weekend, or did you just assume that? I haven't heard one person say anything of the sort. I am one of the biggest Romo fans out there, but I would never, ever, ever hope for the team to lose to prove some kind of point about his value to the team. To me, anyone should be able to see his value to the team whether we win this one or not. But I can't even imagine anyone hoping the Cowboys lose for that kind of lame reason. I call BS

Being upset sure to the point they you would pull aginst the team or root for another all because jerry owns it? Sorry any person who would pull aginst their team is not a fan, fans pull for their team hell or high water, do you have a right to complain sure or call something out when you feel different sure but a fan still pulls for their team they don't act like some spoiled child hoping they lose that is not a fan if you don't get that then you truely are lost.
