If our defense plays a half-decent game and we commit to the running game, there is absolutely no reason why we can't win Sunday with Orton at QB.

I agree it gives us a chance. I think the start of the game is going to be critical, Cowboys can't allow Philly to jump all over them early. Orton I think can do a good job if we can keep it close and keep ourselfs in manageable down and distance but if he is having to play come from behind I don't think he has the same ability to avoid heavy pressure and extend plays as Romo can

One good thing that may come out of it is provided Dez is 100% he will probably have a monster game. Backups tend to throw to the number one as much as possible. Dez will get his chance in double coverage all game to make the plays Romo sometimes doesn't trust himself right now to force. At any rate we'll see.

He is banged up his back is bothering him ….

The line has been playing better and our set of skill players are comprable to some of the best groups in the league. If a qb could pick a situation to come in as a backup, the Cowboys situation would be one of the top.

Yup, agreed.

I'm pretty confident in Orton. The knock on him has always been his arm strength, and it's not like we've been threatening deep at any point of the season anyway.

Not to mention. The game plan is typically a bit simplified. I think they'll be urging him to get the ball out quickly, and I think our receivers are better than their secondary by a pretty good margin.

Technically you're correct but in actuality they put Tebow in hoping to keep interest in the season. They had no idea Tebow would luck into the playoffs on the backs of their defense. Orten is a better starting QB than more than a few starters in the league now. That's not an endorsement just an observation.

Agree. Tebow was $$$ for the team in terms of fan interest..... winning was secondary product as evidenced by them releasing him when
they knew they had a shot at Manning.

In all honesty, I'm more concerned about our defense than Orton. Sure Tony gives us a better chance to win but if our defense lets them score at will it won't matter who's at QB.

Agree. Keep Eagles under 20 and we have a good chance at a W

If Cassell can tear up the Eagles then that tells me we have a legit shot with Orton on Sunday. I think Philly beats us if Orton or Romo would be out there but you never know and that is why they play the game. If we get a couple of good breaks we could win the game. Orton gets 100% of my support Sunday.

And Mine... Go Cowboys

Dallas record this year...competition over 30 points 1 - 6......competition under 30 points 6 - 1....

The fewer points Phily scores the more likely we are to win.

Orton can get it done, but he will need support from the entire team. Defense and ST need to do a good job to keep the offense in the game. If, and that's a big "if" for the defense, then playcalling will be crucial for the success of the offense. If we get some solid playcalling the offense may be able to keep their defense off balance. There's very little game tape of Orton in this offense and any real tape of him is several years old which makes it a little tougher for defenses to prepare. I would really like to see more RB screens and some rollouts to keep the defense guessing. Unfortunately, I believe this game hinges more about our defense's ability to get consistent pressure, much like the Vikes did, than Orton's ability.

does getting benched for tim tebow rank #1 in his list of league successes? lol

Dont know about that, but I guess he can call it a success being the starting QB this week. Where is Tebow starting this week? Anyone know?

just an observation, if you add the ages of our 3 QB's it equals 105....must easily be the most in the NFL for any 3-QB team (by far)

I have a lot of confidence in Orton. To me, he's the best back-up QB in the league.

I have no idea what to expect.

I'm trying to remember how he played in the pre--season.

We ended up playing the 3rf string QB who is now gone to another team.

..so Orton not getting a lot of snaps may come back and burn us now.

Have you actually heard any Romo fans say they are pulling for the Eagles this weekend, or did you just assume that? I haven't heard one person say anything of the sort. I am one of the biggest Romo fans out there, but I would never, ever, ever hope for the team to lose to prove some kind of point about his value to the team. To me, anyone should be able to see his value to the team whether we win this one or not. But I can't even imagine anyone hoping the Cowboys lose for that kind of lame reason. I call BS

Exactly.............I challenge anybody on this board to find one single post of a person saying "I hope the team loses to prove Romo's value".....................if nobody can, then it is just made up crap by a certain group of posters.
