Unlike the Cowboys,.most teams don't have owners and GMs that tip their hand publicly when it comes to player plans.

This thread by most blinded Cowboy fans is dumb. We gave up 2 firsts for Roy Williams, and you want to try and tell me by some guy you haven't watched because he isn't a Cowboy won't generate a first round pick You have been drinking the Jerry koolaid for far to long. He's good and will easily get a first, only injury concerns hold him back.

Dallas gave up a 1st, 3rd and 6th in the 2009 draft for Roy Williams. I can definitely see some team willing to give up a 1st for Stafford. I don't think he is worth it. He may be an upgrade to whichever team gets him, but he alone isn't good enough to elevate a team to a top level contender.

ESPN is such a clown show. Dan the Wince lover just said Stafford is much more talented the Dak. Then Bart the Dak hater says Dak should force his way to San Francisco. The funniest one of all was Dominique Dak butt kisser, saying the Cowboys disrespected him and he should ask to be let go. These guys are clueless.

Stafford is more talented than Dak.

Everyone outside of this forum knows it.

Dak is a top 10 quarterback by scouts, coaches, and GMs. Stafford is on the downside. I have seen Stafford in his prime and he is nothing but a tease. But he seems to fit your quarterback profile. I respect that.

Why would Stafford come to the Cowboys organization? The lions have wasted that man's career so far(sound familiar) so why would he come to another dysfunctional organization that would only waste the remainder of his career? At least he would be surrounded by superior talent that he's lacked basically his entire career

Dak is in a group of about 20 guys that are good players but they are only as good as their situation.

Some of those guys on the back end would shoot Up the ranks if they were in Dallas with our starting OL and receiving weapons.

Stafford is 32, has battled through nagging injuries, has little escapability or modern qb versatility.
He's a solid short term solution for a team with a playoff ready roster but he's too old to be the guy going forward.

He's a 1 time pro bowler in 12 years. He's 0-3 all-time in the playoffs with an 87 QB Rating.

He's probably about Philip Rivers from last year. A little less consistent and a little younger but largely a short term option that could help you go win now if the other pieces are there.

The Cowboys offensive line has been overrated since 2016. All quarterbacks need weapons. Dak has never had a team as good as the Bucs. Tampa has a better line, receivers, running game and most importantly defense then Dak ever had. The 2016 Cowboys were so overrated. Dak and Zeke made that team win.

Our last two best offenses had a powerful run game. Both in 2014 and '16 it was more about our run game than quarterback. The O-line was good but our defense sucked both of those seasons. They were hidden by a ball control offense.

There have never been QB options like these in the history of the NFL. Prescott is unsigned, Stafford is on the block and Watson may soon be. There are 6 QB's slated to be taken in the 1st round and these other situations could impact that.

Where the Cowboys didn't have many options a week ago, now they do with the best one for the cappers here being trading for Stafford and saving about 10M a year and he's every bit as good as he's always been, he still has a little Favre/Romo in him when it comes to making plays but he hasn't had weapons to work with like these in his entire career. Even when he had Johnson and Tate, this set of triplet WR's, two RB's and emerging TE's would be the best cast he's ever had.

All depends on what these other teams might be offering that can go better than 10th and CAR and DEN are at 8 and 9. The only teams really set at QB ahead of the DAL are CIN and PHL. DET has the 7 pick so they could add DAL's 10 and go for Lawrence, if JAX would be amenable.

I look at Prescott and Stafford as the same QB so the tilt goes to Stafford, if he's more affordable. AND, DAL uses those savings to shore up the defense. If they're just going to use the savings to extend more overpaid players, what's the use?

The Lions don't seem to be getting as much interest in Matthew Stafford as expected - ProFootballTalk

When it comes to potential interest in Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, the glass is currently two-thirds empty. That's the obvious import of the news that a third of the league has reached out to the Lions. A third of the league. Ten teams. For a 32-year-old franchise quarterback who is going to get his wish [more]
