I watch NFL Network's shows, BECAUSE of Michael Irvin. If he isn't on the network come Sept, I won't be tuning in much.

Curious, how does one prove that they didn't say something?
He started by saying he’d had a few drinks and couldn’t remember.

Since there are no witnesses to what was said, nothing gets proven.

It is simply which person does one believe.

Then why say "Irvin has failed to provide proof that he did not do what the woman says he did."

Bit impossible.

I understand that, but he also had 2-3 people sitting at a table nearby come to his defense about the interaction.
Well, one of the people who came out as a witness has been almost completely discredited as I pointed out on here before (SEE LINK).

That was the one that said the woman approached Mike and called his name saying, "Hey, Mike Irvin!." But not only does the video show the woman was going to walk on past Irvin coming in from outside but that Mike changed his path to angle towards her and most likely called out to her to get her to stop. Also, Marriott claimed the woman didn't know who Mike was or was a fan of football and that Mike said to "look him up" and then Mike at his own press conference corroborated that claim stating she didn't know much about football and that he was telling her to check out the shows he does online like First Take on ESPN. But if she knew who he was and called him by name, why would she need to look him up online?

Further, in the video, the witness that said all this was last to come in from outside, was blocked by a pillar from seeing their initial encounter, and did not stop looking down at his phone until he reached his seat. So how could he have even seen what he claimed he saw? Dude has been proven a liar and no one talks about it. Beyond all this, Irvin's lawyer has told a few lies in their press conferences, has talked up "assault" when no one even claimed assault, and appears to be trying to create a side distraction of a "disgruntled manager / love triangle" to take away from the fact that the video more closely matches what Marriott claimed happened right down to Irvin slapping himself. Who needs to do that if the truth is on your side?

So if you look at the optics here, it doesn't look too good from where Irvin sits and why I think Marriott will be in the clear in their court case unless their reporting is inconsistent with company policy. The other variable is the NFL, but even that is complicated because Irvin is still employed and probably being paid by them. Is Irvin prepared to bite that hand or will he wait until he's released in some way?

Well, if you look at how the NFL is handling their end, looks like they're not in his believer's corner.

I would bet that's the general consensus of anyone following this.

well i was unaware he was getting paid. but not gonna lie i haven't been following this story closely.
ive not seen anything that has confirmed it.... but I suspect this is why the NFLN has not been included in any lawsuit. I would be my life that Irvin has been and will continue to be paid by the NFLN.... likely until his current contract expires.

you jump to such conclusions. Fox just paid a 780 million dollar settlement that said they are a bunch of liars and followed that up with a statement saying they wil continue to uphold the highest of journalistic standards.

The NFL is doing what all companies do. They cover their arse and they do not care about any employee. They will always do what is in their best interests, and right now, it is in their interests to put Irvin in the corner.

Journey had a drummer, his name is Dean Castronova ( think I spelled it right) and he had some domestic violence accusations against him back in 2015. As soon as tose accusations became public, Journey let him go. They let him plead guilty, he did whatever was required of him and last year he was very quietly brought back into the band.

Journey did what they did to protect their image at the expense of the person. Then as public interests wanes, they did what they really wanted to do in the first place... keep the guy in the band.

Do you think most people that are following this, and I doubt that many are, think Irvin didn't say something to get himself into this?

The employee that walked up to him at the end said Irvin said "I'd like to hit that" and then slapped himself 3 times and that is on the video. What do you think he was talking to her about? Whether buttermilk or water is a better brine for fried chicken?

The NFL may pay him off just to make this all go away but letting him back on the air is a different situation.

And one very important thing we do not know. When they stashed him after taking him from the hotel, did they tell him to stay on the down low on this and he blew it up by calling into the radio station? They can't very well go public on that without looking like they were trying to cover it up.

Why do you think the investigator called in help after going to the hotel and seeing the video and interviewing the woman?

I would rather jump to conclusions than blindly be a Cowboys defender as you are being but that is right to have your own opinion. However, it is not grounded in fact, just conjecture.

I think it is over for him ..his next gig would be on Radio or his own you tube channel.
I don't think it's over for him at the networks... but while legal matters persist on as it apparently is right now. It's a dark cloud that is gonna continue to hang over him and
hinder him from the spot light he enjoyed so much.

If the legal matters linger, then kiss the preseason, regular season good bye.
I don't place Irvin in the same sense as Willie McGinest who is involved in an domestic assault crime.
Irvin case isn't in that state and he also has visual evidence aiding him in the accusations.

And maybe no pre-game co-host is as popular and enthusiastic charismatic as Irvin.
If this turns out right for him, he will get another go at the networks again, even if it means the likes of Fox Sports, etc.

Unfortunate for him, Michael Irvin has a reputation. Whether he did it or didn't, he's been around these type situations too many times.
He survived because ...

1. He's a die-hard Cowboys fan and former player whose fan base and audience is a big draw for sports shows
2. He has charisma
3. He mixes well with other on-air personalities and
4. The women empowerment culture still lags a bit because television and sports still cater to men

However ...

1. There are many more former Cowboy players ready to take their places in the booth
2. Charisma can't save you when repeated claims of sexual misconduct hound you
3. and 4. The networks are featuring more women as commentators, and it would be awkward to keep Michael around
5. Michael is getting older.

I think he's done as far as NFL Network. He may be done on ESPN too.

Valid points for sure. I can't disagree with anything you've said.

However, put me down for the unpopular opinion.... I don't want to listen to women talk about football, period. I prefer commentators who played the game, & or coached the game, preferably at a high level.

It's hard to respect someone's opinion talking about something they haven't done themselves.

The NFL has decided to keep Michael Irvin suspended based on "merit". Ok, so where is the concrete evidence against Irvin to keep him suspended?
It's the type of job he had that's the problem. Any little thing can get you tossed. You think if he was 25 and playing for the Cowboys he'd lose his job over this? A normal person can be fired for doing something on the job. Off the job no one cares. But Irvin's job requires him to be squeaky clean 24/7.

Bad things can happen when you mix alcohol with too much talking.
