Yes. Of course. But if he doesn’t get the deal he wants he’ll have no choice, but to play on the tag. That’s not too bad for him. It’s not too good for the Cowboys. He is not giving Dallas or any other team some sort of discount. He’ll be looking for $120 million guaranteed in a four year deal.

You give him the nonexclusive tag. If someone wants him bad enough to give up two first-round picks plus a big contract, then so be it. If not, he can either play on the tag or come to a contract agreement that benefits both parties.
Do you expect him to get a fully or near fully guaranteed deal? $120 million four year deal is right around the total he’ll probably get.
THIS is why I can see Jerry pushing hard for a long-term deal .........long-term meaning no more than 2 guaranteed years is what I would prefer. That way, regardless if it's 4 or 5 year deal we have an out after 2 two years.
This 100%........he KNOWS his big pay-day is coming, if not this year def next year. The best thing he can do is NOT throw a temper tantrum and have the best season of his career with $28M in the bank.
My guess is $35 million per year, four years, $120 million guaranteed. He’s 24. Had a great year on a bad team. Cap limit just took another significant increase. He’s not going to care what other top wide receivers are paid. They are all older than he is, and they’re not available. Circumstances favor Mr. Pickens.
