Staubach is entitled to his opinion, but his opinion isn't given any more credence than anyone else speaking on the subject of DV who doesn't deal with it on a daily basis, who have more experience with the gray areas that often cloud such altercations. Pictures don't tell the whole story, and bruises can result in a number of ways, e.g. self-inflicted or as a victim, buy gripping a person too hard and not necessarily inflicting blows, tossing someone on the floor or oneself into a bathtub, etc. The whole point of the investigative process by experts in the arena is to assess the degree and nature of the injuries and take into context the state of minds of both parties to come to non-biased and objective conclusion based on the entire set of events and not to use selective data twisted into sensationalism and vilification like the media has done in this case. Roger's teammates on those '70s teams had a number of sully characters, e.g. Duane Thomas who he handed the ball of to, just like many other teams did in the past did and currently do so now. If Roger was talking about how great a QB Hardy is, that's a different subject where he has more authority.
