PFT: Skins' Godfrey blast Belichick for score...Belichick responds

I still wanna here 1 good thing that results in running up the score.

You send a message to your team and to your opponents that you are the best. If you don't like it then stop them.

I don't like the Patriots but not because they are running up the score on people.

they already sent the message...didn't need to rub it in any more.

Wht were Skins trying onside kicks at end?

They were routed. Godfrey needs to talk to his defense before he projects at BB.

So 45-0 is an embarassment, but 45-7 is "respectable"? In what world?

So if you've completely worn the other team's defense down, and you're just getting 8-12 yards per carry rrunning the ball right up their gut every play and punking them in front of their mamma, their children and their wives on national TV .. is it "fair" to keep running it?

uh shut outs are truly humiliating. Remember the 44-0 beating we took by the Bears? If we had scored a touchdown, that game would not still be memorable. Shut outs suck and you should do all you can to avoid them.

I agree with Godfrey on this. The game was out of hand and not even close. The Pats could have easily just run the ball and ended the game as quick as possible. Still throwing deep late in the 4th was just classless.

They were dealing with the skins...a team not known for scoring, especially in the passing game, lol. This is nothing new though, we all know how classless Belicheat is and that is nothing new.

The Pats gained 152 yds on the ground. The skins had no answer for Maroney, Faulk or any of them really.

I want to hear one good thing about making your team quit in the 3rd quarter. How does that prepare your team for a championship run, exactly?

Its not quitting.

Its called getting your back up QB work (because the Patriots are going to need a 2nd stringer to take over for Brady - the man will have a bullseye on his chest in these games to come. Bitter, frustrated defenders are gonna take their shots - the same way Major League Pitchers throw at batters).

Also. How is going for 4th and short justified when up 30? Teams don;t even go for 4th and short when they are up 4 or losing by 7 in certain situations.

They already sent a message.

They have put up 30+ in every game. No other team has ever done that through 5 or 6 games. We all know they are an offensive juggernaut.

Belicheat gets off on this... his arrogance is at an all time high and someone will pay...

Its either gonna be one of his players getting hurt...

a future player or future coach dealing with this. Teams will not forget this and will run up future score against the Pats when they aren't so high and mighty. If Bellicheat is too cool to care about the future staff of the Patriots then he is a *bleep*

So why does Gibbs have his starters in there, why is he throwing the ball, and why is he calling for onside kicks?

If you play this like you still think you can win, I'm going to show you why you can't.

Although I will say in your defense that I think they are chasing the TD records for Brady.

Gibbs still had his starters in there because ;

A) If he puts his backups in, there is no guarantee BB would do the same.

B) "Trying" to make the score more reasonable.

Only if you put weight in moral victories ...and 44-0 vs. 44-7 is truly the most ridiculous of moral victories.

Again, I ask the question ... if you have the opposing defense completely worn down where you're just manhandling them and getting 10-12 per carry on the ground, absolutely immasculating them in front of their families on National TV .. is it "showing them up" to keep running the ball? Seems to me that all of this "showing the other team up" stuff is completely arbitrary and totally subjective, meaningles lines drawn in the sand.

It is funny, thats why i put it in quotations.

But that is what he was trying to do. If BB ain't taking it easier, he can't either unless he wants the score to be 100-7.

One way to end all this B.S. is to go out there and put Brady on IR with a devastating hit... Then break a few of Randy Moss's ribs.

I keep hearing about this, but if you're capable of doing it why wouldn't you do it in the first half when the game was still on the line?

There is no moral victory in 44-7. ----But you know you don't want to be shut out. Washington getting that touchdown today, really prevented this game from being a complete humiliation.

Moral victories don't mean much. But look at the forum today, a lot of folks are saying we looked good against the pats because we put up a fight. Even though we lost by 20.

The pats are almost classless and that is sad.

It's probably not going to help much when he has time to check his voicemail and make dinner reservations before every pass.

It is classless. The majority of the players in the NFL most likely think so. Otherwise, there wouldn't be such a bruhaha concerning it.

I don't understand why anyone is trying to defend the "classless" label as being wrong. They can run up the score all they want. It doesn't make it any less classless. That's why it's called "running up the score."

Funny thing is you don't hear many opposing players complaining. Other than Godfrey
I haven't heard or read anything.

One player spoke out about it, and now it's the majority of NFL Players?

If I were a Commander, Belichick running up the score would be the least of my concerns. Some of us don't expect "mercy" from our competition in which we make just as much money as our opponent (sad thing is Brandon Lloyd probably makes more than Moss this year). Actually, I would be thankfull that he didn't hang a 100 up on me ... he probably could have if he wanted to. If I work for Microsoft, I'm not expecting Apple to show mercy on me when it comes to building a better product or taking market share or vice versa. I'm paid to do my job, they're paid to do theirs and there's no room for whiners.
