Actually, I think I was agreeing with you Dooms. I was saying that even if the Skins had given up, the Cheats would have kept scoring.

Sorry I misread your post. My bad.

All these people that are trying to turn the Pats classlessness around on the Skins baffle me. Yeah, Gibbs had his offense out there trying to score. What do you want him to do? Kneel on the ball three times and punt? You don't give up. Even if you're down by 100 having the self respect to keep fighting is something I will always respect in any team I watch. Even the skins.

Hilarious. Why should the Pats give up? If one team still insists on playing football instead of running out the clock, they get what they deserve. There is no quitting in football, it doesnt matter if you are on the winning or losing team.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with what the Pats did. Like what others have said, if they don't want them to run up the score, then they need to stop them. Plain and simple. That's all there is to it.

It's not like teams in the NBA stop shooting in the fourth quarter when they're up 30 points. No, they continue to pour the points on, and you never hear about teams complaining about getting their butts kicked.

That's one thing I hate about football. The players whine way too much about all kinds of things. They need to do their job on the field, and if they can't do it, don't blame the opposing team's coach.

I think this shows what kind of league the NFL has become. You think 30 years ago a team would have put up with having the score run up on them like that? They would have started taking people out. You just keep hitting Brady hard every play or roll up on his knee maybe give it a little twist. That might end the Pats habit of running up the score. If they arent going to show any respect you need to give them a reason why they should.

I'm glad Belicheat's ex-wife is taking him to the bank. Bitter ******* taking it out on the rest of the teams.

It's not the NFL's fault you failed as a husband and a father!!

Just about every game the Patriots played have been "over" (by your standards) by the 3rd quarter. So what is BB supposed to do? Bench the entire first team in the mid 3rd quarter every week? Get the team used to only playing one half with maximum effort every week? And what happens when your team gets acclimated to that and then suddenly faces a team that takes them to the 4th quarter, and you team wilts because you were more concerned about being a "good guy" than getting your team prepared for what it has to do to win a championship.

The worst thing that can happen to a really good team is to start thinking that they can turn it on and off at their discretion. So if I'm a coach, I'm making my team practice every day at 100%, play every snap at 100% and play every game at 100% with maximum effort until the final whistle. That's what championship teams do, and that's what BB's job is ... to win a championship for the players and coaches who bust their butts every day for him, not spare the other inferior team's feelings.

These are all really excellent points. I completely agree. It's not BB's job to prepare the other team to give his team a good game. If the opponent is inferior, that's their problem. This is the NFL. Athletes are paid millions of dollars (especially in DC) to win games...not to whine about how they weren't good enough to handle a better team. Practice and get better. There's no to cheat and go after Brady's knees just cause u aren't good enough to beat him. Dallas showed that the Pats are stoppable. Hopefully Indy beats them good...but I can #$#@ sure tell you that Peyton Manning will NOT be crying if his team loses 52-7 next weekend. He will be very upset at himself only.

GODFREY BLASTS BELICHICK

Tom Curran of NBCSports.com reports that Commanders linebacker Randall Godfrey is upset with the manner in which the Patriots continued to pour it on while comfortably ahead of the Commanders on Sunday.

"I said something to [Belichick] after the game," Godfrey told Curran. "I told him, 'You need to show some respect for the game.' You just don't do that. I don't care how bad it is. You're up 35 and you're still throwing deep? That's no respect.

"You look at all the great head coaches . . . I'm just disappointed," he said. "You gotta show some class, show some respect. Joe Gibbs? We wouldn't have done that. Bill Walsh? You wouldn't see those types of guys doing that stuff. I've never seen nothing like that. Most teams, you get up like that you sit on the ball and try to run the time out. They're up 30-some points and they're throwing deep. That was blatant disrespect. I hope we can see them again, definitely. You don't see Joe Gibbs doing that. You can't even imagine that kind of stuff coming from him. Joe Gibbs. Bill Walsh. Bill Parcells. This isn't like college going for power rankings. This is the pros you show some respect, show some class."

But Belichick made no excuses for his team's reputation for pouring it on in a Friday interview with Curran.

"I've been coaching too long," Belichick said. "I remember being on that side. When I was coaching defense it was my job to keep the score down, not theirs. When you're playing defense it's your job to stop them. It's not [the offense's] job to not score. It's like I tell the offense, what the [bleep] do you think I send you guys out there for? To punt? We have a punt team for that. That's not your job. Your job is to go out there and score points. If you come off the field and you haven't scored points you haven't done your job."

We still think there's a line, somewhere. And though we don't know precisely where it is, we think it was crossed on Sunday.
If bellichek plans on coaching in this league for quite awhile, then he'll get his.You can all make excuses for him,but this isn't college football. You don't have people with votes to impress.Having brady in there, throwing the ball around, with 10 minutes to go,and up by 38 is classless. They also at that time went for it on 4th down, inside the 15,instead of kicking the easy field goal. The guy is an ***,but there probably isn't any team out there that can do anything about it,right now.

Now, apart from the trying to hurt a player illegally, I can see this. Once the game is out of reach, if the Pats keep Brady in, I'd be inclined as a DC to start bringing the house. He may burn you over and over, but you might get enough clean hits on him to convince BB to pull him.

Karma will catch up to them.

In one of these games, someone will hit a defenseless Randy Moss, or roll up on Brady and take some guys down with them, and ruin their season.

If they keep running up the scores, I actually hope that does happen.

And I never wish injury upon other players.

This is something that will happen I believe.

Players will resort to cheap shots once the score starts rolling up.

Belichek did not RESPOND to Godfreys comment after the game Sunday, but rather addressed the issue the Friday before. I doubt seriously that Belichik even knows or cares about Randal Godfrey.

If you'e good enough to start knocking Brady around with your pass rush at your discretion, you really should have done it in the 1st quarter.

Both sides are somewhat right here. You cannot turn it on and off; once you take the foot off the pedal, very few teams have ever shown the ability to start it up again. BUT when up by 38 on a team that has not shown ANY ability to really do much at all, there is no justification for throwing deep.
No one can say that the skins were any threat to come back- anyone claiming that is a total idiot or unbelievable skin homer.
what this is all building too, though, is for some teams to start taking cheap shots of their own against the Pats. It is coming- and their dream season could turn into a nightmare if Brady goes down. What goes around comes around- in football as in life. you reap what you sow.

:hammer:

Like my dad always says. " Dont throw rocks at Hornets nests". Pats are throwing plenty rocks, and pissing plenty people off, it'll come back to haunt them.

If Gibbs wanted Bully-cheat to call off the dogs he should have pulled his starters.

I'm not superstitious, but believe in karma. Not in the superstitious sence, but as a logicial outcome. If you bully enough people, one day someone is going to club you and it's going to hurt. The Pats will get clubed at some point this year.

I'm not a gambling man, but I'm willing to bet the Pats won't win the SuperBowl this year. A major factor will probably be an injury to Brady. Cheapshot? Maybe, but injured none the less.

sooner or later i think some team will intentionally try to hurt brady. so if i was him i would be taking extra precaution.
