what?

you said we were going to go 5-11 last year.

how can a person who predicts 5-11 for "his" team then turnaround and be mad they did not make the superbowl?

and then in some bizzarro world runaround blaming one of the most dedicated fan bases in the league?

me...5-11..if i ever said that it was sarcasm...i think i was more in the 8-8 camp....i was wrong on the record, but just making the playoffs didn't make me happy. i want it all. i'm greedy i guess...wish there were more like me.

no...i want our fans to be under the same mindset that just getting there is not enough.

But we didn't just "get there." We got there and won a playoff game in God knows how long. Nobody would have been "happy" or "satisfied" with a home loss to the Eagles. It's great to have high standards/expectations, but that doesn't change the fact that other teams last year were just plain better than us.

i certainly did. i learned the following:

a) you have proven my point that cowboys fan *****ed way back as far as the johnson administration.

now they may have been wrong, but that actaully PROVES my point that at one point in time Dallas fans DEMANDED success. Not now (I thank you Hos).

b) bbgun doesn't stand for the status quo...I haven't read enough of his postings to check. I am basing what I say off what I read here. I am sure however if he disagreed with the status quo that he was bashed too because rose colored glasses seem to be a fashion accessory around arlington these days.

c) you STILL don't get my OP...which is fine...can't explain it any simpler...actually no i can...dallas fans TODAY are okay with this team just being a contender...Philly was not okay with that...we have gone soft as a fan base.

d) oh and i can't forget...PROGRESS is the new key word for the dallas cowboys goals...not super bowls anymore...progress...i'm talking progress (that's funny if you do an Allen Iverson impersonation there)

I am not going to read this mess of a thread but has he posted a video of him outside Valley Ranch kicking and screaming yet??

Maybe bought a billboard or something?

Anything other than his usual whining self?

Jerry DOESN'T Care About Winning. Only $$$ and Ego. Facts: Actions speak louder than words in my book, and let's look at the man's actions. He can preach winning, but money and ego are more important...look at the record:

a) An incredibly successful businessman who has probably run his life by quarterly reports and demanded that his managers produce...So why would he continue to do things the same way, or allow subordinated NOT to produce?...ANSWER: He wouldn't if winning was his real priority. Unfortunately they are actually his ego, and making revenue on the team. There is no way that one would allow for a performance like what happened in Philly to be tolerated if winnign were really the key.

b) Statements like "I like having these reporters around...we are in the news..."...Obviously a team cannot win when presented with distractions like that so why would you allow for them to happen so you can be "in the news"?...ANSWER: The buzz generates interest and staying in the news creates revenue.

c) Removing Jimmy Johnson, and making a move that "probably" lead to Parcells leaving by getting Owens...Building a dynasty was not good enough Jerry, YOU needed to be the man in front???...ANSWER:He wanted credit. He got it early on, but then Jimmy's star surpassed him. That is why he began wrestling with Switzer during the last super bowl trophy ceremony. Parcells was getting credit for a turn around so Jerry needed to make a splash....you got one brother

d) Weekly press conferences from a GM...Why???...ANSWER: Jerry needs to be the face of the team, and when the face of your franchise is your owner YOU ARE IN TROUBLE (see Oakland for further review). Can any of you even recall what the Murchison family looked like? How about Landry, Dorsett, etc...understand my point

e) Doing it "The Jerry Way" has produced NO playoff wins in 12 years (the ONLY NFC East team not to have at least one), a 105-107 record, numerous coaches and assistants, and move sthat are widely seen as stupid across the league...So why would you let this continue if winning were the key?...ANSWER: It isn't. He just tells us what he thinks the fans want to hear. Actions Jerry, not words.

Bottom line is that you can say you want to win more than anything, BUT his actions do not reflect that.

HE wants to win if HE gets credit, and only by doing it HIS way. It's his team...he can do what he wants with it, but DO NOT BUY IN TO THIS CRAP ABOUT HIM WANTING TO WIN more than anything...he just wants to make money and he wants the fame.

He has succeeded in that, but will not have any rings for a while...which is probably his last concern...the sad thing is that if he really let football people run the show that winning would bring in money as well, but without him getting credit he won't do it.

I know I am missing several others, but I hopefully my point is understood. rom this point out despite the fact I will never drop in my support of this team, I will understand that Jerry Jones' words about winning are simply not true.

Lack of Leadership from the staff (I use that term loosely) Again... Okay, now we have players hiding from coaches on the sidelines...a QB waiving off a head coaches decision to punt...jesus...and fat boy wonders why no one takes him seriously as the boss.
11-15-2009
DC Team Culture... Not an overreaction, so stop before you even start...this is merely an observation that keeps getting more and more apparent.

This culture that is continually allowed to permeate throug this team will continue to allow them to be no better than an 8-8 to 9-7 club.

We may have gotten rid of some bad apples, but this attitude of "we can just roll the balls out and win" has got to go!!!

And the "softness" that we show...anyhow,

Blast away, say whatever you want, but the QB has it, the receivers have it, the head coach allows it, 54 absolutely has it, and whenever they win a big game, they take a step right back and allow a letdown. They also play to the level of their competition way, way to much. Ask yourselves how many of you are actually surprised by this loss following the Philly game?

It starts from the top and can be seen thorughout the team in their body language. Think body language is n't a big deal...you're wrong, it tells a lot!

(Oh, and by the way, you guys that blasted me last week when I said we cannot run screens well...YUP I WAS WRONG...WE RAN THEM TO PERFECTION TODAY huh???)
11-5-2009
TRUE thoughts on jerry... Watching this debacle take place in D.C., I wonder...if he was being honest with himself, what does jerry truly think of himself as a football guy?

In other words, does he truly know he gave up too much for RW? Does he really make the football decisions, or is he just the figure head, does he really think coaching in the NFL in the early 90's required not much effort, does he really not consider himself in the same catagory as Al Davis or Dan Snyder, etc.

Any opinions? I must admit, I have no feel for him as an owner. How much is it is just an act. Hell, it's even been shown that the Howard Stern you hear on the radio is NOTHING like the "true" man. Is jerry the same image vs. reality type of combination?
12-6-2009
The TRUE Difference Between Teams and Dallas Summed up very easily:

Roy 11 (who played well today don't get me wrong) we are told will NEVER sit by the owner/GM,

MEANWHILE...The Giants bench players who started Super Bowls, make them fight for jobs, etc.

Yup, we have a good scheme in place here...

Oh, and by the way, this post refers to the PRINCIPLES involved, NOT the individual player mentioned...:banghead:
12-6-2009
Why Wait (We Know What's Coming) Who's Our Next HC? Jerry gave wade the ways to keep his job...wade has responded by immediately making it as hard as possible. So, who's next?
12-7-2009
The Problems...They're Simple... This team's problems can be evaluated quite easily. Think about it:

Discipline- Penalties, missed coverages, no understanding of the rules, etc.

Fundamentals- Tackling, ball protection, etc. (pick a game pick a different set),

Personnel- If it's a holder, find a better one, if it's a player, find someone who deserves a chance, DON'T BE AFRAID TO PLAY YOUNGER (why did it take 13 weeks last year to see Choice had talent)

Pride- Find players like 51 (and yes 9) who seem to have some,

It's up to the coaches to get this done. No more waiting and waiting, and letting things progressively decline. Fix it when the leak starts, not when you have to call the insurance company.

How do you do this...coaches...THIS IS YOU. THIS is what they are paid to do. You do not concern yourself with the good things, correct what is the problems. Wade, it's okay to be negative jack ***...

Of course, what the hell big boy. Keep saying it's okay and good luck in your next DC job next season in Cincinnatti after Zimmer gets hired somewhere.

PS: Garrett, you may want to start brshing up those interview skills again. That Princeton pedigree ain't worth a damn right now.

Now, you can gang up on me, but again I will tell you the truth and not what you want to hear. If this doesn't get corrected we will continue to be November Champions and watch everyone else joke about what this once great franchise has become.

Here's an idea Chris...

Try posting something that's provocative, that rattles the chains, the shakes the doldrums out of the off season, that ignites passions! Give us something that makes almost 300 people respond!

These yawners of a thread are typical off season fare. What a bummer.

It would be better if we just ignore him and not give him the satisfaction of a response. I would suggest that you not post, and neither should the rest of us.

According to his posts, he will be expecting an apology, since we will come to our senses and realize he is awesome and hates Ed Werder and stuff.

Forget that, these are some of the most entertaining threads of the offseason. Just the fact that DaBoys and QBCoach have now formed an "alliance of alternative thinkers" was reason enough to keep this one going!

Let the fun begin...

Alright...go ahead and take your shots at me, but before you do so I would ask you to look...REALLY LOOK...at yourselves inside...

What do I mean by this, easy...

When did we become "happy" with just making the playoffs and winning one game? When did winning games in December become our "goal?"

Think about it? Say what you want but this team is not 100% perfect and for those of you to bash people who want moves to be made makes me wonder what happened to the feeling that we want championships in this town?

That's it. Blast me if you want, but how many of you were happy with last year? I certainly wasn't. As I've said before...If you are keep wearing your "we got five" rings t-shirt around and watch Pittsburgh fans laugh in your face.

God knows I hate giving Philly ANY credit. Hell, the last thing of any value to ever come out of that city happened in 1776. But, at least they were not "happy" with just making the playoffs and winning a few games. They wanted rings!!! (Glad they didn't get any, but that is something entirely different). They ran a QB out of town that lead them to 5 championship games. Sadly I think that today's Cowboy fans, in that big nice stadium of ours, would think that's just fine...

Damn how I long for the days when Super Bowls only mattered...

So go ahead and blast me, but like I said. Look around at our house first.
BS!!!

I still do not quite understand the mindset in this post. If you feel good that the team has made progress that means you are satisfied? Frankly I don't know anyone who is satisfied with just winning a playoff game I'm pretty sure everyone here wants to see the Cowboys win their 6th championship and I think that is what this franchise is working hard to accomplish that goal.

What are suppose to do is throw temper tantrums and expect the team make knee jerk moves after a loss because somehow that will make us better?

Sorry I'm not a 5 year old kid who is going to throw a fit anytime things do not go exactly the way I would like.
