I have no real knowledge to base it on. It's just a feeling. I'm not saying there's any weight to it. Simply a hunch because I didn't care for the pick when we made it and wasn't impressed by any highlights of his college career.

I copied and pasted his post and I wasn't changing any of it.
Yes, you should feel pretty stupid right about now.

If you are drafted high to play a professional sport, you should a high level of ability immediately. Period. No excuses.

When you're thinking about what you have to do, I imagine it's harder to let your athleticism take over.
That said, I think all the normal disclaimers should apply. Rookie, minicamp, no pads, etc.

This is what happens when the offseason has been WAY too long. September can't get here fast enough......:starspin

Its amazing how you will hear wildly contradictory evaluations of a player from different sources. One guy says he can't block, the other said all he does is block. The bottom line is we will not know anything about him until he sees some playing time. But I agree it was an odd choice in the second round, given we already have Witten and our overwhelming need is at WR. We'll see. But the reports about his mouth and his inability to pick-up the the playbook are troubling. Yeah, he's a rookie and yeah he came from a simple college offense, but isn't that something you factor in when drafting?

Hard worker, eager to learn, picking it all up etc. If I had to take a project in round 2 it would be at a position of need and not a position with an All Pro already entrenched. What did Bennett do to deserve his draft slot? Have a good sr.year in high school? All sizzle no steak.
But, no, not a reach at 60 for a team without a TE. I saw him projected at #45. We just dont need him. Funny thing is his heart, attitude, his speed and his discipline were all flags and could be the reason he fell and was 4th TE taken (as opposed to first). They are also the things we read about now.
JJ also said he targeted Hardy. If he wanted to trade up there were 3-4 traded that did take place at the top of the 2nd round. We didnt get it done.
On Sweed in Pitts:

"He is very humble. He communicates. He is not afraid to ask questions," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. "His passion for the game shows through the minute he walks into the building which allows you to indicate that he has a chance to be what we think he is capable of being."
Translation: the Steelers may have found a keeper.
Sweed has a unique blend of size and speed and is a tremendous leaper. Long and lean as a goal post, he is also deceptively strong -- he could bench press more than 300 pounds when he was in high school -- and he almost certainly wouldn't have been available when the Steelers picked in the second round of the draft had a wrist injury not derailed his senior season at Texas.
