This was a brilliant selection.

This guy will be playing every Sunday for your Cowboys....he's got the strongest leg in football. He's going to be a kickoff specialist and long FG guy.

Almost 55% of his kickoffs were touchbacks, most of them out of the endzone. That's one reason the USC defense was soo darn good. The other team often started at the 20 or worse.

Late 5th round pick, this is better than any ST guy you could find. He has hit 60+ yard fg's, but he's inconsistent.

I actually like the pick. It's a huge field advantage.

The problem is fitting him on to the roster.

Let's see . . . . .

I'm laughing, I really am. I was the same way when I was 21, I really can't tell you when it ends. I guess it's like a bad hangover, it just goes away when it goes away. lol

Am I the only one who likes this pick? It's obvious he will handle kickoff duties.

I'm with you. Having a second kicker is a nice insurance policy, especially one that can get touchbacks. Special teams have been terrible in Dallas and this kid can help. With a ton of late picks, getting the best KO specialist is OK.

That's a nice try but Nick Folk kicks 55 yrd FG in his sleep and the only reason he didn't get touchbacks was because Read was a ******* and told him to kick it to the side instead of straight.

Well, If they are willing to keep a punter and two kickers then it may be worth it. Despite how well Folk does on field goals his kick offs are definitely lacking. Sorry, I have to disagree with you SLATE. If Folk could hit the endzone most times we would have him kick it in there every time. We got killed on kick returns last year and Folk's inability to get it in the endzone was a big reason why.

I like the pick, but not at the 5th round. Regardless its all about field position and that's a weapon to have in your pocket. I think Parcells would agree but again, not 5th.

like this pick too, plus can't he long snap?

If THAT'S the case then it makes a lot more sense. If not, then I'm convinced Jerry's had too many people around him telling him what a genius he is again.

Someone else suggested it in another thread. Could he long snap? We already use a roster spot for that, and this guy can be emergency in other positions.

This guy or Rodney Hannah? I think you can fit him on the 53.

If you wait, someone takes him as a full time kicker....he was the 2nd highest rated kicker in the draft, exactly where our current kicker was, only he has a stronger leg than Crosby or anyone since Janokowski.

I think people are going to be very happy to see two kickers on the roster when they see what he can do and the difference that makes in your team.

what?? he cant play defense also?? lazy git

i think they will try him some at FB, while at same time, kickoff

remember in the arizona game that the kickoff guy for arizona, the cowboys corneded him near the sideline, but Folk didnt come up into the hole to seal it off,

so i think to a degree the cowboys are sending a signal to Folk, you had better attempt to tackle more on kickoffs if your the kicker or you might be out of a job

Long snap? Isn't he way too small for that? He would be run over after the snap and McBriar will be smashed again.

That doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't we just draft a FB or a TE rather than take a project in the 5th?

have you seen Nick Folk's KOs? Folk is a very good clutch FGK, but he's not that good at KOs.
