I think if he makes it to the NFC Championship game -win or lose- JJ may offer him another year or two. Unless Jones feels like he has coaches in place (Red & a def. asst) who can step up and fill Wade's roles as H/C and D/Coord. while keep the team's continuity intact. It'll be interesting how this plays out if the team is moderately successful in the postseason.

I think many take their personal dislike of Wade act like Jerry feels the same way. Jerry wants to win and if Wade can make that happen I don't think Jerry will be looking to disrupt that success

I agree. Like I believe you had said in an earlier post: if the players believe in him, are busting their butts for him, and he (finally) has some postseason success, why get rid of him?

Exactly. I don't think Wade should keep his job no matter what, I expect this team to perform and get the job done and if he can't get them there then you look to someone else. I have no problem saying that I am pulling for Wade because the fact is I'm pulling for this team to win and frankly I don't care who that coach is who helps them get there I would just as soon see Wade do it as anyone else.

Wade doesn't need to "save" his job, he needs to DO his job.

This team has all of 2 losses....

I'd imagine Jerry expects this to be a playoff team and to have a playoff win. If that happens then I expect he gives Wade and Jason one more go round.

But it's nearly impossible to get in Jerry's head and it will also likely depend on what advice Jerry gets from outside the organization. I am not so sure Jerry will leap back into the fire so soon with a big name coach after Bill didn't win a playoff game here.

absolutely.

be it me, you or wade coaching one simply has to produce but if they do then there's no reason to change coaches.

Even if we win the SB he's gone. JJ will say he or five hundred other guys can coach this team.:D

Well you are in a small minority with that train of thought.

BTW, he is a puppet, maybe not a Zorn puppet, but a puppet none the less.

I don't care what the sheep say because you say it, it is true? Wade was fired in Buffalo because he refused to fire one of his coaches a man with a puppet mentality would have just did as told. He has been in this business coaching longer than many of the peanut gallery has been alive like his father he understands this business but has never been a sell out or a puppet to anyone.

The only thing he can or ever will be able to save is room for dessert.

The only Wade saves his job is if we lose the NFC Championship or Super Bowl.

I'm not kidding. Think about it.

If we miss the playoffs, Wade is gone.

If lose a wildcard game, he's gone.

If we lose a divisional game, he's gone. We've been there before.

If we win the Super Bowl, then he rides off into the sunset.

BUT, if we lose the NFC Championship, then it means we won at least one, probably two playoff games, and Jerry gives him a chance to build on that success for at least one more season.

And if we lose the Super Bowl, well, the guy took the team to the Super Bowl, and he's obligated to keep him.

I agree with this completely. Regular season wins and all that stuff doesn't matter that much. If we make it to the NFC championship (win or lose) I bet Jerry uses that one year option on Wade's contract.

The next year, Wade will have to match or better his previous success (NFC championship again) to get a new contract.

I respect the profession. As I said you keep the job by getting the job done. If he can't get this team on track and winning then he needs to go I would say that about Wade I would say that about Cowher just as well. He is in his 3 rd season and not produced 1 losing season (13-3 and 9-7 currently 4-2) If this team makes it to post season and does gets this team over the hump then he deserves to stay and I too would say that about any HC. He is not there to motivate me or any fan he is here to do a job if it gets done that is what matters to me

Didn't Jerry basically tell Wade its either Stewart or the both of you?

Whoop, I take that back.

It appears Wade has saved something else:

Room for Dooms' head all up in his butt.

That 13-3 team came out of him prior to that we were 9-7. We won our 1st NFC East title in years under Wade. Yes last year was disappointing and I do think he has to win big to remain the HC I would not say he must win the SB to keep his job I do think winning in post season and playing quality football will keep his job just as it would any other HC in the NFL.

Man I hope you're wrong.

But I think short of something big this year, Jerry will come to his senses (did I just say that?) and move on.

Now who he moves on to...well that's another story.
